My miniature poodle is 8 years old & because of her high activity she has a cruciate ligament injury to her left rear leg that needs surgery.  She did this 2 weeks ago & is booked in for surgery late January as the surgeon is on holidays.  It worries me what is it doing to her other rear leg as it is taking the weight of her injured leg.  Can anyone suggest what I can do we are very happy with our Vet but feel we need to get her in to get this fixed now not late January.

Where are you located?

Unless you’re in a rural area, you’ll likely have a number of vets within a reasonable proximity to you. Do a ring around and find one closer. You can go back to your vet for the follow-up.

Just FYI, SASH is a specialist hospital and the specialised care and services also come with a higher price tag than general veterinary care.

They’re generally good at keeping you aware of your account, but make sure you also regularly check the amount so you don’t get any unexpected surprises.
