shoemonster
It's all on their website if you want to check it out http://www.berwickodc.asn.au/ TRIAL CLASS RINGS Encouragement, Novice 2.45 - 3.45pm Rings Available 1.00pm
JulesP
Thanks shoemonster. Do you have to pass a certain level of obedience before you can go into the agility or trial class? Would you say that the obedience classes are aimed at pet people or people that want to trial or do they cater for both?
shoemonster
I've only done one obed class there, and it was a lower level, (it was a bad day when we got evaluated for classes lol, 40 deg and Ed had just done a flyball class so he wasn't very impressive ) but it was definitely more catered for the pet people Agility I don't think there is a certain requirement level, but the beg is pretty basic, from watching it I think possibly it may get more trial based in the higher levels, before the trial classes Roxy's mum is in one of the higher classes before trial classes, she could tell you whats in it The class I was in I had troubles with cos it was more socialisation based than I'm used to (coming from Southern), and I wasn't comfy with it
Sayreovi
For agility you have too be in at least yellow class or show control of your dog as well as preferably have a good recall. With the trial class its the same as agility except you have too be in blue class (highest you can go) or show your dog is capable of all the exercises. There is no set time you basically show up put your name down and be ready when they call you in but its best too be down early as sometimes they cut off after a certain time or amount of dogs. Ive only been in that ring a couple of times with Nova (who is in blue) SM is correct the higher you go in the classes the more advanced and trial based it becomes, especially in blue and green where is nearly all off lead. They do the stays and all exercises required for Novice. There are heaps of experienced people who trial who will help if asked for specific exercises. Tunsafun Boxers
Hi Guys, Just wondering if any of you train two dogs? Im hoping to take my girl Charlie, plus Cooper when i join. Cooper more for socialising at the start and Charlie i would like to get to trail stage (may be dreaming but hey, its worth a shot lol). How do you do it? and does anyone know if it costs extra to train two dogs there? Hope to hear from you all soon Jenna
Sayreovi
Yes i do and so does Shoemonster. Ive found it quite easy now because i have gotten too levels in flyball and agility with both dogs that they dont clash  I get there early about 11.30-12.00 so i am one of the first few people there, so my car is closest too the training ground, i either leave the dogs in the back while training the other, if it gets too hot i put them in a crate in the shade. I can always see them so it works for us. It costs more to have two dogs, but its the member ship and i think its about $20 extra?
