  1. Gosh I remember these monthly litter announcements! I've been away from DOL forums for a few years but have started poking in for a look again lately. So I'll add a Whippet litter due in a couple of weeks time
  2. Looking for any recommendations for vets in the Grafton area. Must have experience with Sighthounds and also be capable with caesars, emergency or otherwise and a humidicrib would be a big bonus. So basically a breeders vet! I know Casino has a good repro facility but that may be a bit far away. Still researching the area, so any suggestions would be great. Feel free to pm with anything negative however!
  3. I started another thread on Friday about the lump and everyone thought it was a hygroma, which is what i think you're thinking of. I really hope thats what it is. In the morning the lump is softer but it hardens through the day. I'm still worried. cant help it. I keep reminding myself whats the chance of an 11 week old borzoi having both elbow dysplasia and hip dysplasia like the vet suspects.eta, yep it was just the one elbow with a lump I've finally got time to come in and comment here and can I just say that any vet who gives a C5 to a young sighthound puppy who isn't even due for it's next needle, has already shown themselves to be an idiot. Then to not be able to recognise an elbow hygroma, instead insisting on 'severe' ED/HD is a complete and utter %&£%^*@!!!! We have spoken to a number of fellow breeders, who between them have hundreds of years of experience and no one has EVER heard of ED or HD in our breed, anywhere in the world. This is all very upsetting to my mother (and myself). She will be calling the AVA tomorrow, as the incompetance of that first vet is beyond belief and he has no right to upset you like that just because he cannot diagnose a SIMPLE hygroma. Morgan & Chocolate were both correct in their posts as to the cause of Hygromas.
  4. The site is looking fabulous I'll add another Borzoi breeder - ZEFNA Ta
  5. Wow, loads of work going into this Big pat on the back for Sway and Shaney If you haven't gotten to the breeder lists yet, I'll add mine ARGOWAN - Borzoi, Whippets and Scottish Terriers
  6. I've got 2 suits that I'm looking to swap perhaps if anyone's interested? Or sell for that matter. Both are size 10 skirt suits, but definitely more 8-10's. One is a dark red and the other is a lightish lime green. Gorgeous suits, but are um, a tad short for me to run around in with a big moving Borzoi  I'm also hunting for some new suits, so if anyone has any in bright, solid colours (some patterns are ok too) and in a 10, I'd love to hear from you! Colours I'm really trying to find are royal blues, purples and greens Oh and I'll get some pics tomorrow and get them up!
  7. Oh gosh... I'm so sorry to hear she didn't make it...
  8. Any news on Charlotte this morning? Fingers crossed she was ok through the night!
  9. Oh crap pappylove, definitely not what I was hoping to come in and read! I'm so sorry she's gone downhill. Was the vet going to try and get an IV in? I've had a 4 week old Whippet puppy on a drip before, so it can't be impossible? Please do try and get some rest tonight, even if you can't sleep, just laying down in a dark room is something. Being a migraine sufferer, I know how awful headaches can be :D Fingers crossed there's good news in the morning.. That was my thought too m&m - a severe reaction to a C5 ;) Not that the vets will call it that though
  10. Yep, her having a good sleep benefits you too - you get some sleep at the same time
  11. I agree with persephone, let her sleep A really good, deep sleep will be of great benefit to her!
  12. Better that it's a syrup and not tabs ;) I've given puppies and adults flavoured yoghurt when I've run out of natural - they probably like it better and it'll have sugar in it for some energy anyway. Glad to hear she's had a little drink & been to the loo - a nice sleep should hopefully have her feeling a little better again!
  13. Personally, I think that the vacc was given far too soon after the stress of flying, especially for a little one, which makes the likelihood of a reaction so much higher. I'd be keeping her very quiet, and warm and just try and keep fluids up to her, and maybe tempt her with a small amount of mince or a bit of yoghurt if she'll have some. The AB's & anti inflamms twice a day will probably upset her as well if she's not feeling the best.
  14. I agree - look for a new vet. Yes, I've also got what some may call extreme views on vaccinating, yearly heartworm etc , but if I'd ever had a vet carry on like that, I'd have told him he was an idiot and walked out. We accept Titre Testing in our boarding kennels and there are plenty of vets who will do the test and send it off.
  15. We've had a property at Bargo for nearly 5 years and have never, ever had a tick. Even though the place backs onto 1000's of hectares of Crown Land (bush).
