  1. Hi Sunnyjohn, Yes there is. Just do a google search and you'll see what is available.
  2. Hi All, I am looking to hold a K9Pro workshop in Toowoomba in the second half of this year. I am just looking to gauge the level of interest from others in Qld. I am sure it will be well supported and there are quite a few people in Toowoomba who would want to go already but thought i'd put it out there and see how much other support there would be. Thanks!
  3. I was lucky that my beautiful girl Mia whelped a gorgeous litter of 7 with minimal fuss. Two dead pups but both died well before they were due. That I could handle. Nature has its reasons. Mia struggled in the first 24hrs, wanted to be with us but also wanted to be with puppies and couldn't make up her mind. One tiny bit of mastitis and pups with the runs as a result. Overall 7 lovely healthy pups and one beautiful healthy mum. It's stupid but I can't help thinking we got off with things too lightly and that next time I won't be so lucky. I would like to breed another litter, I would like to improve on our girls again, we really did achieve what we wanted with our last litter and you can't ask for much more than that. But there is a sneaky voice in the back of my head that says, could you live with yourself if something happened to your girl. The answer is no, I love those girls more than words can ever explain. It's a stupid feeling, a nagging 'what if' but even 2 years down the track I feel too lucky, I watched a friend go through an awful time losing a few pups despite doing absolutely everything she could to try and save them. At the moment we want to give as much time to our girls as we can, in particular the pup we kept from our last litter, i'm studying my masters and life in general is just far too busy to be able to give the time that a litter needs. Will we breed again, I don't know. I still think I'd like to but that nagging voice won't go away....
  4. Rally Valley how do you toilet train yours? I did it with my first litter but am interested in people's different techniques!! Always something to learn! Oh and I LOVE your puppies. I have a soft spot for the Brittany - just can't deal with the hair. Us GSP people are just lazy about hair!! It's all the running around we have to do with the dogs - can you imagine if they had long hair too! Then they'd be a full time job. Nevafollo - awwwww gorgeous, love those pointer pups!
  5. i just tried that breed selector and it was spot on, had Weim's in top spot and GSP's second but still at 100%, the top 5 were all on our short list. Really surprised as GSPs have never shown up on any we've done before and yet they're perfect for us!
  6. We got both for our first litter. The rubber back was good re: slippage (only really became an issue for us with naughty 6week old GSPs trying to play tug with each other and by then it didn't matter!) but it doesn't last as long and is a real mess when it starts breaking down. I also found with my winter litter that it took longer to dry. Overall i'd go green back next time as it dried on the same day even on a wet cold rainy day and it's still going strong.
  7. My GSP still was very active during her pregnancy and after the pups arrived. Her front have tucked up (although the nipples are larger of course) and the back ones between her legs are still somewhat saggy. I agree with Trisven, seems some spring back and others don't!
  8. Yep one of mine has done this after every season since the very first one!
  9. I use the wire collapsible crates and my girls were fine. Now if I set up a crate they try to push past each other to be first in!
  10. ha ha Megan, it's just like we don't tell them that we actually spent more on our dog's x-mas presents than theirs....what they don't know can't hurt them!
  11. One question for those who have done recallers before. I notice lots of dogs using tug toys for the games etc. My girls are GSPs and have very 'soft' mouths. Can anyone recommend a good tug toy and somewhere to get them? They really are very picky about what they are prepared to put in their mouth and if it's not soft there is no chance!
  12. I enrolled today and am so excited. Watching all the videos on the site and her facebook page i'm hoping we can achieve the same kind of results and enjoy being with our girls at the same time. I want them to enjoy our training and I want to enjoy it too. I only did the cheapest option. I have to admit watching all those videos so many of them almost bring a tear to my eye..... Time is at a premium at our place and i'm looking forward to making training a priority in an enjoyable way for both the girls and us.
  13. I have a question about no exercise 2hrs before or after a feed. My kids are very active all on their own and will run around the yard willy nilly. If I was to wait for them to have no exercise at all before a meal I'm not sure they'd likely ever get fed. Does anyone else have this problem?
  14. Cazstaff I feel absolutely sick reading this. I cannot imagine the pain and grief you must be feeling. You are in no way responsible for this. We entrust our precious dogs to 'professionals' to care for them as we would in our absence. You could never have seen this coming. I know if anything happened to one of my girls I would be ensuring I did all I could to ensure it never happened again, not for the money itself but to some money is the only real penalty they will feel. I send hugs your way and hope that in time you will be able to feel a little sunshine in your life again and know that your Buddy loved you and always will.
