  1. Shaar there isn't much difference between me flying between Launceston and Melbourne and my friend flying between Sydney and Melbourne, just time and yes sometimes having to work in with quarantine Tasmania, but I know the rules and prepared for it. Yes there are other cost factors that are taken into consideration, yes it is hard at times but not impossible But instead of whinging about what i have to do to travel and exhibit my dogs, I go about it, plan well in advance and enjoy my time with my dogs. Yes I proudly live in Tassie and love it.
  2. How is an interstate flight from Tassie to Melbourne different to an interstate flight from anywhere else in Australia to melbourne? Genuine question. Here here, no difference, except a stretch of water :D
  3. I am sorry but if you live in Tassie and wish to travel to the mainland with dogs, with a little planning you can successfully exhibit dogs on the mainland, which many of us do..............plan and budget for it. Just a little sick of hearing `oh I live in Tassie it is so hard.....'
  4. There are rules for a reason. We may not all agree with them, but we cope the best we can. Glad you enjoyed your GSD specialty experience Sway.
  5. I feel that you should go and read your opening post, you put it in captial letters no challenges, etc. As I suggested earlier, contact the Tasmanian Canine Association re your concerns. By the way there is probably only one difference between travelling to nationals and Melbourne Cup cluster of shows, you can still get challenges within 1000km. Oh and Heidii wasn't the only one that mentioned points chasing
  6. Combined Breeds Dog Club always seem to have earlier finishes and all thanks to the committee that make sure things run smoothly!!! Glad to hear everyone had an enjoyable weekend, I am heading south for the Gundog Club Shows this weekend, hope the weather is kind
  7. perhaps instead of getting on a forum and having your say, which usually gets no where, why don't you contact the Tasmanian Canine Association who are meant to notify the clubs that no Challenges are to be awarded, this is the 2nd time that I know of where clubs haven't been notified before entries closed. Each canine associaton is notified of national shows at least 12 months in advance. In addition yes we have 4 - 5 specialties per year, really spoilt where most clubs only get 2 - 3 per year.

  22. This is what I was getting at fifi, as the advertising has sprung up massivly over the last couple of years...sure Id advertise too if I hd spare $ to throw around, but Id rather spend it on importing, breeding and showing what one must remember it doesn't necessarily have to be in magazines, the simple tool of the internet is the most common way of promotion. DOL, Facebook, Show dogs.com you can promote free of charge all most.
  23. Ummmmm....not yet! I AM going to the Huon Parades though to give Bad Alice a whirl. Unfortunately the Stafford babies are too young by two days. Oh bugger, we will be at New Norfolk showing at the GSD specialties
