  1. A little off topic, but still to do with the strength of dogs. If my 6kg Jeune decides to stop dead to sniff at a blade of grass, I can be almost pulled off my feet. If a poll were taken, I think you would find that most people (generally speaking) believe that staffy breeds have jaws that lock. :D I did too, once. Why? Because I was told and it didn't occur to me to investigate further.
  2. Let's hope that when she no longer gets a buzz out of that, she doesn't move on to target rescuers in some way. She does sound sick and I really feel for the children. Maybe her extraordinary activities are kept from the rest of the family - who knows.
  3. I started to read this thread all over again to try to get my head around it. If Narelle/Michelle really does have small children, perhaps she should be mentioned to DOCS. Her paranoia is certainly not getting better and I wonder how many people who know absolutely nothing about her "record" and background have fallen for her sob stories. She may have a dozen dogs on site by now.
  4. That photo with the Llama, the Curly Coated and the JRT is priceless.
  5. Lovely stories and lovely photographs. The Jack and Jasmine show . . . . . . . long may it run
  6. Cosmolo, please excuse my lack of response. I didn't see this. I got it from Bunnings, but they had to order it in for me and I had to buy a box of 6 - lol. I have given one away and I have one in my car and one in the lounge for the couch. It isn't really meant for clothese, but I use it. You would need to be careful with delicate fabrics and knits though. I don't know how you can manage the months of waiting for your special pup, but I guess if you want the lineage, you will have to have super dooper patience . Was just wondering if you happen to know the product code?? http://www.decor.com.au/usage/viewproducts.aspx?id=2123 The Brush is code 164000. But where are you? If you are near me, I have some spares - LOL
  7. Well I absolutely no idea about any of that . I was just trying to make life interesting for the dogs. I wonder how many vets know this? So, to put it simply, you are saying find something the dogs like and has all the necessary nutrition, etc and stick to that and forget about variety? ETA: I have done that with my cat and if I think she MUST be getting bored and I try something different, she won't eat it. She has the same food, day after day, week after week, year after year. It makes me sad, but I guess that really is being anthropomorphic - LOL. I was getting rolls from the vet and at first they loved them, then did the usual thing and went off them.
  8. I always warm their food and if it needs to be a little bit moister, I always have on hand home made chicken stock. I'm thinking of giving PAL a go - LOL. Years ago I had a friend staying with me with a couple of her dogs and she fed them PAL. Unfortunately, she never went on a poop drive and I can't tell you what the back yard smelt like as I cleaned up after her dogs every morning and night.
  9. Where's the "slaps head" emoticon. That's the one I was thinking of when I bought All Natural by mistake. I couldn't understand why the dogs didn't like it as I have used Nature's Gift before. The cans must look similar.
  10. But you can't feed dogs cat food all the time? Surely just as an occasional thing and to help tablets go down . I don't know the "gift" one - but I'll have a look when I'm out grocery shopping today.
  11. I give my dogs mostly raw food and sometimes mix in rice (cooked in home made chicken stock) and vegetables and Royal Canin dry food. My dogs have always been difficult eaters and generally look at me as though I am trying to poison them. See this thread as proof - LOL http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=168141&hl= They certainly aren't fading away and are playful, happy and enjoying their walks. However, Danny is the only one who has eaten a square meal for about the last 3-4 days. I thought I would just get a couple of cans of food to see if I could tempt them. So, if you HAD to feed your dogs canned food, what would you choose. I tried All Natural when Rover was fading, but none of them liked that. At my wit's end. It was such a pleasure fostering Mundy and Lolly as they LOVED their food; Mundy would get so excited that he used to do a little drumming movement with his front legs . I hoped their enthusiasm would rub off on mine - but no such luck.

  13. Every time I saw your name in a thread, I wondered how you were - and now I know . You have done one of the hardest things imaginable and now you must be strong. Yes, your heart is breaking and ours break for you too. Nothing we can say will really take the pain away, but when you feel bad and sad read these posts and know that many many people understand and feel very deeply for you.
  14. Oh god! I hope they didn't think they'd get Cecil Trying for the sympathy vote? Delusional people can be so dangerous. They will try another angle, I would imagine. So hopefully someone will be on the ball again to suss them out and to be able to expose them again.
  15. What a worry. They do sound as though they have mental problems, but would present as perfectly normal most of the time .
  16. Can a little red spitz cross from a pound enter?
  17. I'm talking about ME . I wanna be adopted and looked after. ;) ;) Cynthia you look like you are doing a pretty good job of looking after yourself and besides you are not hairy enough for me Now you are having a go at me ....... just 'cos I'm a bit ( ;) ) porky and have skinny hair. Sorry barfsfan, I'm bad for derailing your thread. Have you gone to www.petrescue.org.au? How is the search progressing?
  18. What excellent advice; she sounds a down to earth and straight forward vet. Ditto: :D
  19. I do hope it is something that a course of XYZ will fix the problem. The thing to remember with drops is to discard them after 28 days. Vets and my optometrist have told me same thing. Optometrist said that using the drops after that time is probably doing the eye (human and doggy) more harm than good. Not good when each month I am throwing away a half used bottle of Cosopt which I get on prescription for Rover. Next time I have to fill the script, I'm going to see if it comes in pipettes.
  20. Oh that is so sad . April is saying, "But mum, I promised to love you forever." And you are having none of it ...... "But April, you looked at the boy next door." Sob Sob.
