OSoSwift, poor Rommi Hopefully the silly puppy can learn to stop injuring it soon! RnH, well done on Cash last night I did think of saying hello but every time I saw you, you were busy LOL. Showdog, I wondered if it was your boy who won Inter In Show Well done Bonnie, unfortunately not my area either. Maybe contact your vet to see who they suggest :D And finally to Ruby!

Thanks Ptolomy :D I was very proud of my Banjo boy - as not only did the judge find him spunky but except for one minor hitch when we entered the ring for General Specials (I think he was a bit confused about why he was in the ring again ROFL) he showed brilliantly all night! Happy New Year to everyone. I hope life is more full of "ups" than of "downs" in 2011

Yes Although I forgot I was going to make some biscuits - might have to bring some Lindt chocolate instead For those competing tonight, gates won't open before 5pm (Bevan is on holidays) so don't rock up at 3pm to set up I won't be there before 6.30pm though :D

7.30 Banjo is first on again

LR, glad you weren't near the SW fires too. We ended up putting Dawn's loss of hind end function down to either an aneurysm or spinal hemorage Vet did mention botulism but she didn't have any of the other symptoms and none of the other horses were affected.

Hello Peeps. It has been too hot for me to be on the computer much lately - my house doesn't have air con but my parents' do Thanks for the thoughts on the fire. Was a reasonable distance from me - I am on that side of Gidge, but closer to Gidge than Morangup. Was on call for a few people we know in that area in case horses needed to be moved. Luckily it stayed in the nature reserve. Fetchindawgs, so sorry to hear about your boy :D Did you definitely see snake bite marks? Only reason I am asking is that I had to put my best mare down (who I had owned since she was a 2yo) in 2009 after she lost the use of her back end. I had her at the vet though as she was walking "wrong" initially and they scoured her for signs of a bite and didn't find anything and all blood works came back clear. However after she lay down she didn't have the power to get herself back up again :D Horses are such heartbreaking creatures at times. I am so not in the mood to get two dogs ready for the show tomorrow night. See lots of you there though

Merry Christmas :D I hope everyone has a safe and stress free time My Lappies want one of these for Christmas so they can do what they are bred for
-
OzJen, 6 months from last season add 9 weeks from conception gets you to beginning of August Could be a bit earlier but not much if they do exactly 6 months. And Abbey is just as likely to go 8 months As to Jenna - J has said Abbey is definitely getting bred while you keep changing your mind or having something blow up and need replacing Otherwise RS has even more puppy torture to look forward to
-
No that is too soon for me for a new pup I think. But I am definitely coming for puppy cuddles!! Puppies would be ready to go October/November. Or if she doesn't do a six month cycle it will be later... so that is nearly 2012 Just wait until you go for puppy cuddles ;) OsoSwift, that is great to hear about Rommi. Long may it continue! ST, it will be sad once Charlie goes ;) But I bet your sister can't wait!
-
Abbey puppies should arrive in August If you get one of hers I won't be astempted to get one
-
I am not doing that much at work atm... patients don't tend to come in if you book them the week before Christmas. Am meant to be neatening up my office but I can't really be bothered Don't know how crazy next year will be. Am so glad I don't study anymore ;) So next year will be filled with: work (please let me have a significant lotto win so I can work less hours ), agility with the Aussies, getting Banjo up to speed for agility and obedience, showing occasionally depending on if/when I get another puppy, all of Diva's "extracuricular" activities (showing - but only the bigger shows, dressage, team penning and hopefully starting to jump), and showing the younger ponies. So yep, I think next year will be lighter than this one

Dirt just falls off my hairy dogs too Mum made the mistake of trying to wash Boots' legs off the first time he "helped" with the fish. She quickly learnt that if she let it dry it fell off and made much less mess My lot decided to be wild rabbit hunters yesterday They didn't manage to get any though mores the pity since we have a rabbit plague atm!
-
I read that as "do you poop" not "do you put poop" and had an image of RubyStar squatting over the hole :D :D
-
For those that enjoy Heelwork to Music (am assuming it would come under that category here not Freestyle) And for those of you who are horsey, look out for the passage and tempi changes
-
Not hard in your hard, all you have is dirt!! :D Even less of a challenge given the size of Kyzer and Trixie :D I think they could comfortably together in a hole that would only fit one of our dogs RS :D
-
Cute photos of your lot Tiggy My guys like digging holes and lying in them too

Happy Birthday Ptolomy Aren't you lucky, rain for your birthday I felt very mean this morning as I had several ponies who were shivering including the two foals ;) Not enough time before work to get rugs organised and them dried off enough to put on though - plus it is meant to be 24 so too hot for rugs! My two older boys didn't want to come and have their breakfast coz it meant they had to walk into the rain (which meant I got soaked as had to go and find them and make sure they were ok) I don't think they know what rain is any more...

As Showdog suggested contact DogsSA and ask them. In WA we are not allowed to set up closer than 5 or 10 m from the ring (can't find exact rule). We are allowed to have a maximum of 4 cabanas set up without a walkway in between (2x2 square) and we have set times when we are allowed to set up.
-
Fetchindawgs, sorry to hear your year wasn't all brilliant. Although it sounds like your crew have given you a lot to be proud of Oh, no ;) Apparently there is another big one is Baldivis as well
-
If you want to take that title you are welcome to it
-
Hope you're talking about the dogs :D Depends on if their owners' come in here to have a look :D ;) I was actually going to write "bloody bitches" but I thought that would be a bit too descriptive for some people
-
Well done Amypie and Rubystar I wish I could have been at the last couple of trials :D Silly bitches! Oh well at least I know they will be fine for the Western Classic
-
If that is the case why do I make the long drive down to my breed's lecture nights with a full car of dogs after rushing home from work? Well besides the fact that I tend to get dobbed in to actually give the lecture I have no desire to be a dog breed judge (although would consider agility judging). Mainly due to lack of time and if I was going to start judging anything seriously the horses would get preference. I am not committed to dog showing enough to even bother showing my own dogs that regularly now that they are titled.
