  1. Why is it ok for one but not another? It's not so until things change it will always come up. There's nothing worse than running the gauntlet of the "toy ring". I once had a Griffon jump off the top of a four birth trolley to attempt to bite my Dane on the back of his hock as he was walking away. Stupid owner tried to blame me for walking my big dog around the toy ring.

  3. Do you have this in writing or who advised you on this? I don't see why I should have to share the grounds with non-members.
  4. (snipped) This used to irritate the hell out of me (owning/ showing a giant breed) - not being able to walk near the toy ring without dogs going off simply because he walked past. My giant actually did have an issue with the trolleys full of abuse but many toy owners seem to have no issue with their dog's behaviour. In my breed your dog gets roused on pretty damn quick if it barks at another. I could not agree with you more!!!
  5. No one is saying it only happens with the general publics dogs - what many are saying is, if it is a dog entered at the show then something can be done about it. No action can be taken with a member of the publics dog other then asking them to leave.
  6. I think members of the public can bring their dogs if they are going to meet a breeder etc, Not just to walk around and have a look. I say this as im hoping the breeder they are going to see has told them the rules and what is expected of them and their dogs. I invite people to shows to meet me and other breeders when they enquire about puppies - I tell them no dogs. I often have my puppy people come to shows for a catch up, I also take a retired show dog now and again.
  7. I ask this as on the weekend my dog was bitten on the face by a dog bought along to the show by a member of the public visiting friends who were showing - my dog is ok. Should members of the public be allowed to bring their own dogs along to shows? I have tried to add several options - hopefully I have covered it all.
  8. I don't think the general public should be allowed to bring their dogs along to shows. But with that said, I sometimes take one with me who is not entered when im entered at a show.

  11. Pros: Loved the marked out walk ways - this should be a permanent edition at Bulla and KCC. Extra bins and pooper scoopers. Not having to queue at the window for catalogues, they had someone sitting at a table handing them out. Friendly helpers Matt and Andrew, even cheery at the end of the day! Friendly other helper who I do not know the names of - sorry Lovely lady working her fingers to the bone on the computer at the office. Stephanie Rickard walking around with a laminated picture of the raffle prize hanging around her neck. Great stewards who we could hear and who were nice and friendly. Cons: Arriving at 6.05am on the Saturday to find 3/4 of the ground already taken by people who set p the night before - did not think this was allowed??? - perhaps next year they can sell off reserved spaces as a form of a fundraiser? Having the Bulldog champ show at the same venue indoors when GS were being held, left very little space for all the dogs who needed to go inside. Entry and catalogue stuff up - Australia Posts fault. All in all was a great well run show, thank you to everyone who helped out in anyway shape or form!
  12. I don't know who won the raffle, I have asked to be notified when someone is free.
  13. The entries that were not received were posted snail mail. Ozentries all made it and made the catalogue.
  14. Nope, as the catalogue is not correct - many missing dogs in various breeds.
  15. I am pleased to announce that SOUTHERN CROSS KENNEL CLUB will be holding neuter classes at this years show. Oct 22/23 held at KCC park. I expect to see all those Victorian exhibitors who have been asking for Neuter shows to enter. ;)
  16. Was a great weekend until some moron holding a Bulldog let it lunge at Shimmer The dog did it with so much intent that the dog got airborne and jumped up and bit her on the face! They did not say sorry at the time, someone had to tell them that they should  Thankfully Shimmer is ok.
