Sunday forecast for Ballarat,,,23 degrees, windy with showers

I've had silkys for over 30 years, never had a problem with kids, providing they follow the rules and of course are supervised, but you need to do that with any dog. Very robust little dogs, never had a serious health problem. They live long and happy lives, I had a 16 year old bitch here who if you mentioned Schmakos would jump through hoops lol. My kids used to handle mine when they were little now I have grandkids to play with my pups. Can't comment on yorkies as I've never owned one.

Any group one results? Pretty please!

So very sorry to hear that sway,,, RIP Willow

I have a rescue bitch here with a grade 4 heart murmur, vet wouldn't desex her and said she is a walking time bomb. She is approx. 2 year old, plays with my other dogs but then puts herself to bed. I would be sending the puppy back to breeder, imagine the trauma for your son if the pups collapses one day and dies in front of him. Get your money back and run! Find an ethical breeder and purchase a healthy fit puppy that will be able to play with your son.

Have shared it on my FB, lets hope someone knows something about her.

Well done dunwarren.
Thank you, had a good day, good company, good food and good judges, what more could we ask for
Being inside on a day like today LOL As a spectator I appreciated it
I don't get to see Breed Specialties often - quite inspiring. Also the wimsy - I saw the little tea table set up in the adjacent ring :D
Being inside certainly helps lol weather was terrible, even for Melbourne!

I heard from an exhibitor there that one judge was reluctant to judge a specific breed....apparently that breed is not accepted in thier home country....
I have also heard that several breeds from different groups have had NIL awards handed out, including some mulitiple BIS winners and a couple of Gr Chs....
Sounds like a fun time for exhibitors, will he or wont he!!

Last time I went to Ballarat I got very lost. Can someone give me the directions from Melbourne once I hit Ballarat. I think I have to turn left at McDonalds. Is that right.
Drive straight through and up the main drag, don't turn off anywhere until you get to the lights on Sturt and Pleasant Sts. There is a servo on the left hand side at the lights, turn left there and it's on the 3rd roundabout on the right hand side.

I don't groom for a job but occasionally do a bath and blow dry for others, I tried grooming but honestly some dogs would eat you rather then behave. I take my hat off to those who do it day after day, not sure I could stop myself from giving some a shake to make them behave and to stop myself from getting bitten. I had a malt/shitzu cross here once, matted to the skin, showed his teeth before I even got him out of the box. I sent him home as I knew he was just waiting to have a piece of me. I think when you first start out most of the dogs that you get are the ones the other groomers wont touch but it sure put me off doing it full time.

According to my source of this information the diahrea had blood in it,,,my dogs are of course vaccinated but still scary,, that ribbon must have meant an awful lot to show the dog in that condition. More then just a tad peeved off now.
-
Anyones dogs have diahrea (sp) both mine went to the Bairnsdale shows and both have it now. Someone had a dog in the ring with it but kept showing her. Judge asked if she wanted to leave the ring but she said no. Bit inconsiderate in my opinion.
Wonder if she was at Maffra the week before as a Pug exhibitors minor boy had diahrea so bad she had to get AB's for him.
I know what breed just can't place the lady who had the dog, I wasnt there personally just my two dogs.

Howie had the squirts on the way home but was fine the next day. My guess is that it had more to do with the fish and chips he scoffed the night before than anything else. None of my other dogs were affected.
It was in the group one ring, not impressed!!
