  1. I agree about the catalogue! Could be most interesting!!! Seems to me like they did the catalogue, then decided to add a "few" more entries!!! LOL
  2. I received my number today - and my Group 5 Collie is number 367! Interesting!!! I also did not receive a notice of the numbers in each group - Not surprising really, because they may not know!!!!
  3. Some lovely pix ladies!!! Just the most beautiful day at the Park - couldn't have asked for better, and we finished in good time too!!! Thanks to all who contributed to a lovely day, and congrats to the winners.. To those who were not successful, we sincerely hope that you will be back again next time... Cheers Gael Wilcock Show Secretary - Yarra Glen KC Inc.
  4. Don't know about tomorrow's show - but Yarra Glen on Sunday - judging commences at 8.30 a.m.
  5. I have no knowledge of whether vendors are attending or not - that is organised with Dogs Victoria. I have read elsewhere that Lyn Harwood will be there with her goods - but know nothing officially... Sorry not to be of more assistance. Cheers Gael
  6. Some Victorian clubs have already used it - as I already said - with limited success. Melbourne Dog Club used it last year - only had about 40 dogs entered that way - to the best of my recollection... Might have been the year before... they all run together nowdays! LOL I think some of the Gippsland shows have used it too..
  7. It is not cheaper (Online entries) for either the exhibitor or the club, and with some of you saying that you don't have a chq book - there are people who don't have credit cards either - and possibly those who would not wish to put entries on a credit card. Some Victorian clubs have utilised the online facility, but with very limited success. I have used the online entries for Sydney Royal, as well as Melbourne Royal's online entry system - but as a Show Secretary, prefer the "old way"! I like to know exactly where I am with entries at all times - and as I have records for every show I have been involved with for many years, I am aware well in advance if there is a likelihood of judges exceeding allowable numbers.
  8. I cannot believe people who let their accounts get too low when they have written out chqs! If you have written out a chq, then you do not have that money to use - so WHY DO IT???? Am I the only person in the world who actually balances my chq book!!!! When I have written the chq, the money is no longer available to me - regardless of when the chq is banked! Can you tell I am a Show Secretary??? LOL Amazing how many Banks make mistakes these days....
  9. It's a new website - and you will require a new password etc in order to log on.. From what I have read, the passwords will be progressively emailed out, but if you need to get one sooner, contact the office - probably Janet Davidson. This site is currently Unavailable Please check back later
  10. Hi All Hopefully to save phone calls, the double Championship Shows conducted by Yarra Glen Kennel Club at KCC Park on Sunday 6th March (next Sunday) will be OUTSIDE!!! All rings outside... Cheers Gael Wilcock Show Secretary
  11. Not my decision Pam!!! I would put everything outside as the weather is predicted to be quite reasonable. The exhibitors need to lobby the club administration - not just this club. It seems to be the accepted thing to put these two groups inside at Bulla. Not for any good reason as far as I can ascertain.... Gael
  12. Groups 1 and 4 will be inside at the Australia Day International Dog Club shows (Vic) - Saturday and Wednesday. Don't know where the idea that Group 1 would no longer be inside came from - certainly not this club... LOL Cheers Gael
  13. I did note the different postmarks!!! Australia Post has been amazing of late!!! Wish I could sleep in too!!! Enjoy the time off! Cheers Gael
  14. This information is relevant to the ADI shows only - on Saturday 22nd and Wednesday 26th January - at Bulla... For further information, the special effort being conducted on Saturday, 22nd January - ALL PROCEEDS to go to Flood Relief in Queensland. Still excellent prizes offered.. the Committee of the Australia Day International Dog Club Inc. would like to express their hope that you will support the special effort generously. Thanks in anticipation... Gael Wilcock Show Secretary.
  15. Just reminding people again about the entries for this show!!! ENTRIES WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED UP TO AND INCLUDING FRIDAY'S MAIL!!!! Closing date was Friday 31st December, entries accepted til Friday 7th January!! Australia Post have more holidays at this time of year than anyone else - but they are back at work on Tuesday!!! Thanks in anticipation for getting them in the mail Gael Wilcock Show Secretary ADIDC Inc
  16. Hi All Just some advance information for those planning to enter these shows over the Australia Day period. Closing date for the TWO SHOWS being conducted by the Australia Day International Dog Club (Saturday 22nd January and Wednesday 26th January) is FRIDAY 31st December, 2010. Entries will be only accepted until FRIDAY 7th JANUARY, 2011. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE!!!! Schedules are printed in the November edition of the Dogs Victoria magazine. Thank you to those who have already entered - I wish more people would enter early!!! Gael Wilcock Show Secretary, Australia Day International Dog Club
  17. Brock won BOB and RUIG - don't know anything else in Aussies..
  18. In case you haven't found out yet - it belonged to Ray Barwick and David Smith. Hope that helps..
  19. Does anyone know the condition of the grounds??? Wouldn't want to be there if it was like Daylesford...
  20. As a show secretary, my preferred option would be for you to write all the EXHIBITOR'S NAMES on the return envelope. One only envelope is fine. Cheers Gael
  21. Even I am looking forward to being indoors!!! And that doesn't happen too often! Cheers Gael
  22. Hoping to alleviate phone calls !!! Belgrave & Dist KC Ch Show next Saturday - 11th September - ALL JUDGING INDOORS! Cheers Gael Wilcock Show Secretary
  23. I agree with those who have posted that no CC's means they cannot compete for Best in Group. They can compete for age Class in Group awards. The schedule should indicate that no challenges will be awarded for that breed, and the catalogue should also state the same... I would refer you to instances when the judge has not awarded a Challenge (for whatever reason). In that case, the animals cannot compete for BIG, but can compete for age class in group.
  24. Hi All In the forlorn hope that maybe it will save a few phone calls, the Yarra Glen double shows on Sunday, 14th March, at KCC Park (Victoria) will be conducted OUTSIDE!!!! Regardless of the weather. We have 11 rings - and it is not possible to put them all inside, so they will ALL BE OUTSIDE!!! And anyone who is entered - THE SAME EXHIBIT NUMBER FOR BOTH SHOWS!!!!!! Gael Wilcock Show Secretary Yarra Glen Kennel Club..
