  2. Hi i have and 11 1/2 week old puppy she has a snotty nose, she is sneezing and a light green snot will come out, she had th eKC vacc at 10 weeks, so im not sure if its from this or not, she is happy, but is like a little kid with a snotty cold. Any ideas on what to do, don tknow if she should goto vet or let it go for a little while.
  3. I have your dogs sister, and this is definately a family trait, my girl does the same thing, and simple i dont use the crate until she is trained more, then i can control th eproblem, to be honest i think you are asking a lot of a small puppy. My girl does do lots of wee's but so do all puppies, mine goes to the door and goes out if i am quick enough, they do grow out of this, and i am finding that they are extremely stubborn, and you just have to be more stubborn. The othe rnight my girl went out at 4am to the toilet, when i called her she came half way and sat with her back to me, so simple i closed the door and went back to bed, she now runs when called to come inside.

Bella i am so so sorry. RIP Asher
  6. Im not sure what test they will do at the moment, they just said bloods, so will have to see this arvo once they have been done and come back. Im lucky that if it is Addisons, he is a very stable laidback dog, so he doesnt stress much, we actually had him here to be a stud to my bitch but came up as sterile, when doing the AI, and a few days later he got sick, so it was probably the huge infection making him sterile, cause he has been used before, his owner said we could keep him and now he is sick, the poor boy.
  7. Hi my dog is back at the vets again, and they are saying it may be Addisons, does anyone know anything about it, like what it is treatment, management, is it leathal?
  8. now i just gotta work out what lens kit to get.
  9. ah ok thnx guys, i am thinking about the 350 or 400 in the canon range
  10. Hi later in the year i am goin gto lash out and buy myself a flash camera, probably a canon something, but i was wondering with a digital slr camera do you have to manually focus them, as i wearglasses and wouldnt be able to get a clear focus.
  11. Hi i am after the site, i have been told is called oz obedience, it lists all the trial schedules that arent in the vicdog gazette, does anyone know the address?
  12. I just dont know what he has, i am hoping it is something like a infected saliva gland or something.
  13. Hi my new dog, only had him 5 days has a massive systemic infection, he started out with a swollen face, i gave him antihistamines, they didnt help, so went to vet , he had a temp of 40.7 so it wasnt a bite, and the swelling was extremely painful, he got massive antibiotics, and cortisone injections, sent hoem to the aircon to keep him cool, by this arvo at 5 he was more swollen, we took him to the vets again, and he apparently has a thing similar to black leg in horses and sheep, his prognosis, is very grave, he is on a drip of antibiotics and getting a blood transfusion, but the vet says unless the facial swelling comes down or stops he will suffocate, and even then the prognosis of septisemia type thing is not good. Has anyone else had anything similar? or have any good news to make me feel like he will make it through the night.
  14. try revolution, my dally alwasy had yeast infections and mites i have used revolution once and he is better. Oh im in country vic too.

Oh his muzzle was swollen and hard and lumps under his chin, his whole head is swollen, its gone down a little but not heaps.

  17. Who was the Sire? Xamm? His sire was Luck von Batu IPO 3 Sch 3
  18. what happened? I had a 6 mth old male g shep pup out of an IPO 3 Sch # imp dog who shep people wouldnt use as his pups where too hard, and i took him to this trainer and he trained him too hard, we had private lessons he was using the whip on this six month old puppy, and bragging about how he once took the tips of the ears of a dog, and my poor pup was working still with all th epressure that was put on him, they even tested him with driving against him and he still held his grip. When they had a trial, another club came over to watch and this trainer told them to have a look at my pup, which they did and liked him, we went over to there club and they tested him fo rus, as i wanted to know if he was going to be anygood, and our boys bite was gone, he was moving in his grip and he was unstable, if a person walke dnear him he may bite them,he never used to be like this, it was all caused by putting too much pressure on a puppy. This trainer at the tiem was training a rotti that they had pushed too far also and he had gone to pure aggression too, and they where retraining him back so he was controllable, so seems to be a common problem there, if you have a good dog, they push too hard. People in the know know this trainer and what he is like.
  19. Ayra there is a schutzhund club in cranbourne, i would be careful of going there, i have been there and the trainer ruined my dog, be careful of the bite work if your dog is slightly unstable with this trainer. Only saying this as if you know Andrew Mcdonald you must be down that way, Andrew is an ex MP that is probably where he got the rubber hose from.
  20. Before i moved to Bendigo, i was a member of Frankston Obedience Dog Club, and i used to be able to do whatever i wanted really, i would train in a class for 10 mins, i didnt have to do exercises i didnt agree with. Not sure how they are now, but i know some very good trainers are going there.
  21. Patrick was a rescue, he was a beautiful little dog, he had one problem he was dog aggressive and was too much of a risk to rehome, so today he was pts, i cant say i gave him his wings because it doesnt seem like a nice thing i did, but we had no choice, poor poor Paddy. He was one of those dogs that just touches your heart in a very short time, he didnt wag his tail when he came here but today he as wagging his tail alot to see me, he had put his trust in me, and i had to throw it away. some people shouldnt own dogs, and if he was bought up correctly i would not have had to do what i did today. Here he is the day i got him from LDH, he deserves someone to remember him. Poor Paddy go and learn how to play with dogs and have fun, and be loved.
  22. Oops i didnt realize there was another thread. Name: Janelle Age (optional):34 Location: Sebastian, near Bendigo vic Rescue Group:N/A yet, but helping with the foxy clubs rescues. Time in Rescue: Not long 6 mths, but have been helping dogs for many years, in one way or another. Who can vouch for:Pikespooches, ummm not sure about DOL people, but have been training dogs for 20 odd years. Preferred Breed:Fox Terriers Experience (if any):I have as i said been training dogs in just about every discipline for 20 odd years and have shown very few times, have bred 3 litters in that time. Microchip: Yes Vaccination: Yes Desexing:Yes Heartworm test: depends on the dogs likelyhood of having it, like a dog that came from interstate definately, but my area isnt a high heartworm area, although saying that i dont rescue in this area often. worming: definately flea treatment: Yes vet work if required: Usually is required, ie desexing. basic training/teach manners:Always, also teach the dog to respond to humans, and to listen and to know there name. house train dogs: try to. Dogs inside the home or outside: Both but i treat them as one of my own, and if they have a short coat then mine are inside at night so so will the foster be. Are you prepared to give extra care for a submissive nervous dog: I would not really come across this much in fox terriers, but i give extra time to so called aggressive dogs and will use a behaviourist when needed, and i will have many problems with fox terriers coming from a pound situtation, they are wild.
  23. HI is there anywhere in Oz i can get a prong collar, or mini prong, or how do i get someone to send one to me from the US, do they just have to disassemble it, and send it as two parcels or is there more to it?
