  1. Wooohooo Nik!! Like I said on FB what a great way to get your title, with a second place as well
  2. Was just coming in to post the same thing Ness! Can't wait to hear all about it... so happy for Nik and Jedi
  3. Mort looks great! He looks like he really enjoys it he's so fast!! Here's Daisy's latest video in case anyone missed it in the training talk thread  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31OwniDW8hE ETA: SK, Kei looks like he is doing SO well with food! He's so bouncy and keen! I just had a look back on my old vids () and this time last year exactly we had just started module two Depending on the dog it can take time but it's so worth it in the end BTW - I have vids of me fully stacking it but they never made it to utube
  4. It's great isn't it! I love when you can see the lightbulb go off in the dog's head - it's the best feeling ever!
  5. Sounds like both the OH and Morty are enjoying it! Are you using food or a toy, Fiona?
  6. Ok we definitely need to see that one! And don't be embarrassed GSD, most of my videos are SHOCKERS - I can only imagine the look on Steves face when he's had to watch some of them
  7. I had the same problem with Daisy, although I would be lucky to be able to get focus out of her for ten minutes anywhere. Now we can work on and off for an hour or so and she is STILL keen to work after! I like the sound of this rumour
  8. So glad to hear you are enjoying it! You know we need to see some videos now don't you??
  9. Sounds like Ella was on fire this afternoon Seita! Quick update of Daisy's backend awareness... she's come along in leaps and bounds, I have the flat book down just because she wasn't getting going from a step/upturned bucket to the ground. It seems as long as she has something to target she can do it easily. Shortly after filming this vid she started to 'get it' on the ground with nothing to stand on so hopefully over the weekend she will really get the hang of it I am determined to have her trained on the nicer LAT instead of the around the back one by the time we trial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEvz2veHqZQ (this is my beagle who had practically no backend awareness!) ETA: Oh I added in some heel position practice for Ptolomy  I was so excited - she picked her bum up and swung it around right at the end!
  10. I am on my iPhone otherwise I would have x'd it for you
  11. Jake - just drive down Lamington St and when you come to the end there will be a big car park. We will be meeting right outside the main entry to the Brisbane Powerhouse which is literally next to the car park on Lamington St.
  12. Crazy Daisy - we are meeting just outside the Powerhouse near where the entry is. Seita if you're going to train Ella Daisy is going to look terrible in comparison there's a nice grass area next to the dog park that would be good for training. It's also right near the Powerhouse so close to where we need to meet.
  13. Yay, Sparky - I haven't seen you in ages!! Huga are you going to get there early to use the dog park? I'm not terribly fond of New Farm dog park but I was thinking of going earlier to do a bit of training.
  14. Daisy is fine off leash so she will be fine with no collar. but just in case we get there and she's not switching on, Would a check chain be better than her blingy Ruthless collar? ETA: yay, Huga's coming
  15. We had a great training session tonight Daisy has been really switched on lately. She also now has totally got the elephant trick down pat and will swing her butt fully into heel position around the box - very cute Now just to transition it to being off the box and on the ground :S
  16. Beagles aren't dumb, and they aren't untrainable. Just because he's a Siberian Husky, does not mean he can't be trained not to pull on the leash and no, he doesn't "belong in the snow" and no, having brown eyes does not mean he isn't purebred.
  17. When I come over to WA this year I vote we all play it with a bottle of wine ;)
  18. I had trouble with Daisy's stand for exam (obedience) until I decided to train stand on voice command only with no hand signal. Once I had her doing stand on voice command what 'stand' meant really clicked in her head and I didn't have much trouble after that. Like any stay you train, duration is something you need to work on and the dog will get better at over time.
  19. Thanks guys! Wish I had caught some of her better work on video tonight but she's definitely coming along and hopefully we will get there... eventually... LOL!
  20. Thanks Bedazzled, I've seen that one before and it's great! Daisy was a really good girl at training tonight, here's a snippet of some heelwork; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31OwniDW8hE It was not the best from the whole night, but alas at least we caught something on camera!
  21. Can't wait (Psst - you and Red coming to training tonight??)
  22. After not working on it for AGES I decided to get the box out today to work on Daisy's back end awareness. She could go one way around the box (ala the elephant trick) but not the way I needed for left about turns. I've been trying for ages to get her to walk around it towards my left but she just wouldn't get it. Well for some reason today the light bulb went off and she was doing it in a matter of minutes Now she'll speed around the box towards my left leg. I really want to train a nice LAT instead of the around the back one we do now and I feel like we are one step closer to getting there now.
  23. Yep that's the one! I love sable colouring in GSDs.
