  2. Now I am not 100% sure but I think 7 years is the minimum age for a child to handle in the ring in NSW, I have seen kids this young handling. in QLD I think its 10 years. hope this helps. oh and also to add I think they can join as Junior members from either 7 years or 12 years in NSW, but I think a parent may have to sign something, sorry but it has been years since my boys were that young, lol !
  3. WOO HOO Congratulations well done !!!! oh and yes pictures would be great !!!
  4. my BC boy literally peeled the skin off one of his toes, getting it caught in the fence barking at the cows, as they do lol, I wrapped it up with sticky plaster mainly to keep the dirt out, re taped and sprayed it each day with purple spray, and kept him in his run which has cement floors, he was only allowed out when I was outside and he stayed on the lawn, it took about a month to heal completely I was surprised how fast it did, after a couple of weeks it had enough skin to leave the sticky plaster off, it was still tender but dry.
  5. this site is brilliant Sway a friend of mine is trying to come up with a prefix so we had a look at the list and two of the ones she thought of have already been used, and another few a way too close, but a few others have given her ideas. my prefix is on there  Keep up the great work !!!

  7. Hi again Royal Border I was just reading my copy of Busy Borders and the BCCQ are holding a Health clinic day on the 12th October, next Sunday. you must book and you have to contact Miss Suzanne Chandler her email is, [email protected] ths email is freely availiable on the BCCQ webpage, I dont like putting peoples phone numbers up. you can PM if you would like her phone number.
  8. our local Vet organised it all, also you can ask the BCCQ they should also be able to help you and point you in the right direction. I got all the information for off the net, including the forms for the actual test, and they did the blood collections and packaged it up and sent it off, the results were then sent back via email and normal mail, to me from the Lab doing the testing not our local Vet. I think it only cost me a consultation Fee plus the cost of the actual test at the Lab, but it was cheaper than having to drive to Sydney when there was a collection day organised, it would have been cheaper test cost wise to wait for a bulk collection day, but we dont have collection days that often. and I might not have been able to get to Sydney when it was on. when you take your dogs in you must also take in the rego papers/certificates/Microchips etc, for ID. the reason I had to get information off the net was because it was when the test first became availiable the CEA test was first 4years ago now??? , so I needed to be able to tell our Vets exactly what I wanted and they needed to know how to collect and how to process the sample for travel, since then they have done all my testing for CEA CL TNS, as well as other collie people who also have theirs done there, the Vet now has all the relevent forms on-hand.
  9. do you have a Leonards Chicken nearby? our local one sells minced carcasses by the kg, made fresh daily , you could try them.
  10. not just a worry for dogs , what if you had a crawling human baby??? it could have just as easily found the rat bait!!! these people should be ashamed of themselves. I hope your pups are ok soon
  11. poor baby, so sorry to hear that, :nahnah: our thoughts are with you
  12. sounds like he has come into contact with a poison, is it an old house? maybe old flaking lead based paint ?? old car batteries ??? something he has chewed??
  13. I do all mine in the boys bathroom, we dont have a bath in our ensuite, and I havent as yet bought a hydrobath, but its so cold here in Winter I wouldnt want to bath and blow dry them in the shed outside anyhow. I have one those attachments that has different settings on it, the dogs jump in and out themselves, all the walls are tiled so its easy to wipe down when they shake, I have a cushion on the edge of the bath , so when I kneel down I can lean over and it takes the weight off my back, so no back ache then its a mad dash down to the other end of the house into the spare room where I blow dry them, I have to make sure I have all the bedroom doors shut otherwise they would duck in the dry themselves on someones doona !!!! if I ever win lotto I want to build my own heated/airconditioned grooming room with all the trimmings including a TV and DVD player !!! oh I can dream cant I
  14. do you mean like the tripe you get from the butchers?? sorry its the only type of trip I know about, what is ziwipeak for us uneducated, sorry for the questions to your answers
  15. we have had bitches speyed over the years and they have never come home vomiting, they were alwys sent home with painkilers for at least the first day or so, he said nil by mouth until tomorrow? how long since she has had anything to drink???yesterday? I would be worried about dehydration as well as the pain.
  16. I have'nt heard of that one with dogs but I have heard that if you breath into nostrils of a new born foal, while its still on the ground, it will be yours forever and do what ever you wish, and only you. it was an old Arabian saying, I remember old bushies saying things like that too. it has a calming affect on older horses as well. now I think they call it imprint training charge $1000's to tell you the same thing ;)
  17. sounds similar to what my son's Rottie bitch had a few months ago, sore when she lied down and sore to get up, she would yelp and whine, and she couldnt move her neck properly, the vets immediately x-rayed her to make sure there were no fractures etc, it was thankfully just soft tissue damage, a trip to the chiroprator with the x-rays and a good massages etc later she was good in a few weeks, she is really clumsy when she chases the ball, as she is so focussed on it ,does not look where she is running, we think as we have thrown the ball she has cut the corner and run into either the tank stand or had a tumble with one of the other dogs, all we heard was the big yelp, until we got around the corner of the house to see her staggering very sore and sorry with her self, but she is all better now thankfully. oh I forgot to add she was anti imflammatories for a couple of weeks or so.
