  1. I had the German judge yesterday and was completely underwhelmed Yes he checks every tooth, and made sure he checked every tooth on my 3 month old baby who hasn't even got half of them at the moment! He then skipped over the rest of him and went really hard checking for testicles and by the time he'd finished groping around poor Jerry was trying to tuck his whole back end underneath him He said to me "I can't find one" and I told him they were definitely both there, would he like me to show him? He then said to me "us judges may be stupid but we can at least count to two!" and sent me off on my out and back... the problem was he then proceeded to have a conversation with the ring steward, facing out of the ring, while we were gaiting and when we came back and stood in front of him I had to actually get his attention and ask if we were done yet as he was still too busy talking - he hadn't watched my boy at all I then watched the next two classes, both single entries as well, and he did exactly the same thing to them - complete disinterest while they moved. He only started paying attention when he had to actually make a decision between two or more dogs Now I have no problem if a judge likes my dog, doesn't like my dog, whatever... as anyone who knows me knows. I've done this for a lot of years on and off and I have never been a tanty chucker if it doesn't go my way What I do object to is not being given the courtesy of the judge's attention, which is all you really pay for. Oh well, dummy spit over - resume normal transmission Good luck to all of you yet to be judged
  2. Big congrats! What a fabulous brag that is :D
  3. CC, I got these from Woolies in Canning Vale... it was like one of those circus skits where the clown pulls a hanky out of his sleeve... I cut a wee hole in the bag and went to pull one out...and kept pulling...and pulling... LOL! :-)
  4. Speaking of poultry parts... for those of you I don't have on FB, I bought a bag of turkey necks for the kids on Thursday and handed them out yesterday... well, these were the BIGGEST turkey necks I have ever seen, I am sure they were actually Emu!! Funniest thing watching Buzz trying to get the courage up to tackle it, I am sure he though it was going to attack him Jerry was a bit more game...
  5. Well done! I think I may have been in the baby line up with you as Mr Jerry Whippet got Baby in Group as well - at his very first show! :D Super proud of my little man, he was a bit overwhelmed when we first got down there (his first time at K9) but soon discovered that this place was full of nice people and nice dogs and he had a ball! He showed like an absolute trooper, must do no training more often...
  6. My little rising star Jerry the Whippet (Parnew Show Me Da Money) made his debut today at the Canine Stewards Association open show (WA) - with Baby in Group! He was a little trooper, showed like an old hand and I was very proud of him :D At least I know there's half a chance he'll walk nicely at the Royal next weekend! LOL!
  7. She is a bit gorgeous Sarah :D Congrats on your new arrival! Lakies are lovely
  8. Such good news! Big congrats on their safe arrival, hoping there is something extra special amongst that pile of gorgeousness for you!
  9. Don't know about Periactin for hayfever but it's great for giving dogs an appetite! :D Used it on my Whippet boy to teach him to eat, he was on it for a month I think and by that time he had discovered that food was OK after all Hope you get something sorted for your pup - we are a family of hayfever sufferers so I do sympathise!
  10. ST those babies are looking fabulous!! Very definitely male and female too, which is nice to see - you should be super proud!! My baby is doing super well, he has everyone wrapped around his little paws :D Practicing being a show dog:
  11. Glad you guys arrived OK! Give the furry girl a hug from us!! :D
  12. Thanks ST - we decided that she could get them done when she was old enough to make the decision herself whether she wanted her ears pierced or not and out of the blue at breakfast this morning she asked if she could :D I would really appreciate the name of the place your sister & niece went to, thanks!
  13. A bit OT (and I did post it first in OT! ) but my darling daughter has decided that she would like her ears pierced. Does anyone have any recommendations for a piercer in Perth who is great with kids and does a good job? Any advice, tips etc greatly appreciated (especially in regards to chemist piercing vs professional piercing places)! Oh, and I'm considering getting a cartilage piercing myself at the same time so any advice on that too would be great, thanks!
  14. Another one here - I had a Border Collie bitch that was an absolute shocker when she was in season. She had to be crated (with locks on the door or she'd open the latches!! ), and only exercised/toileted under strict supervision - I found this out the hard way when I let her out for a two minute pee run one night at 11.30pm before I went to bed. We had an outside toilet and so I went to the loo while she had a pee, I was in there for maybe a minute... came out, called her and no sign of her. Got my then OH up out of bed, we armed ourselves with torches and proceeded to scour the backyard (it was a 3/4 of an acre block). After about 15 mins we heard the faintest peep from the rear neighbours' yard, rushed over and found my minimum height (barely 18") BC bitch had jumped a 5 foot fence and had raped the neighbour's virgin Rottweiler. They were tied, she was down on her front in a play-bow position with her bum as high as she could get it! Poor boy didn't know what had hit him, he looked rather stunned The little cow wouldn't normally jump into the back of the car unassisted! Off to the vets we went...
  15. He is gorgeous Mas, not much cuter than a baby Lab!
  16. Just popping in to introduce the newest member of the tribe at Chez Poo-Fong.... This is Jerry, he is Buzzy's nephew and is such a little cutie!! Massive big trip over from Tassie (10 hours in a crate) and clean as a whistle on arrival. He slept all night (from 11.30ish till 5.30am) with Uncle Buzzy in a crate - no noise, no fuss, no mess! He adores the kids and he & Buzz are getting along like a house on fire. Yay for good puppies! :D
  17. Same breeder as Buzzy RS Griff & Lisa Parry from Parnew Whippets in Tassie, he is Buzzy's nephew.
  18. I got to pick up this little guy today... :D This is Jerry! He is just too gorgeous, and is busy snuggling with the kids on the couch as I type. I can't wait to get back out there!! Looking forward to his first shows at the end of September
  19. I just saw this and snuck in another WA entry!! Fingers, toes & eyes crossed - will be needing one of these mats very shortly as I will - shock, horror! - be back in the ring in the very near future!!

  21. So sorry for your loss, what a gorgeous grey face she had!! Run free Miss Ricky
  22. Hoping to post in here very shortly... :D
  23. No foot sitters in my little pack, but the Whippet thinks he's a mountain goat and is happiest draped across your shoulders The Dogues lean on you, the Toy Poodle is usually too busy scabbing for food and the Frenchie is a lap sitter. We do have the most delightful old Stafford boy who boards with us regularly while his owner works away, and HE is a foot sitter. We had him in the house with us for a while a couple of weeks ago and he was never happier than when he was sitting on my foot while I was on the computer :D (he could stay forever and I wouldn't mind at all )
