  1. PMSL, OH just walked in and announced out of the blue that we should get a Mexican Bald Dog next...
  2. I've been to Augusta once.... what the heck is there to do for a family holiday?! It was like a dead end to nothing No bloody dog shows, that's for sure!! Probably the best bakery in WA is there, that's a start As long as there's a beach my kids will be happy and it's only 30 mins from Margaret River if we get bored... we were hoping to go for a longer trip up North to Coral Bay/Exmouth for 10 days or so but unfortunately that has proven to be an impossibility at this stage - just not able to shut the kennels down for that length of time So down south it is for a long weekend, and OH has fond memories of Augusta holidays as a kid so we'll give it a go... not to mention the caravan park we are staying at is dog-friendly so hoping Buzz can come with us... the other 4 will have to stay and be baby-sat though To be honest 4 days anywhere would be a good start
  3. Just got mine... tried to convince OH that we should go to Albany for our family holiday in November instead of Augusta but he wasn't keen.... ;)

Off to do houseworky type stuff... anyone else going to Zumba at K9 tonight? I'll be there in all my un-coordinated glory, should be fun!
  6. No you don't necessarily need a suit - smart pants/skirt and a nice shirt etc in a colour to complement your dog are fine. As long as you look neat, clean and tidy and are aware of how different colours look with your dog (i.e you don't normally wear a black outfit to show a black dog as you will just lose the outline of your dog in front of a black background) then that's fine! You can get lots of lovely stuff in a size 8 if you look around! I have
  7. +1 We have lots of Labs and Goldies that board with us and this is a fairly accurate summation! Also meant to agree with Mollipop - the Goldies LOVE to have something in their mouth to greet you with - it's gorgeous!
  8. Thanks for the congrats everyone WX, my hubby popped down with our kids briefly yesterday and caught a glimpse of Naca in the ring and commented that he thought he was really stunning - that is a very big thing for him to say as he is fairly jaded when it comes to dog shows! He was 'born' into the dog world and nowadays much prefers to support me from the sidelines i.e at home Well done on your Runner Up in group on Saturday! You must be thrilled with them both.
  9. I recently got the most beautiful burnt orange coloured YSL pant suit from eBay (Oz) for a terrific price for a genuine, new with tags designer label! Love this suit and I think I got a real bargain (excuse my scruffy hair, it was a little windy ) ETA: Just keep an eye out, there are some gorgeous suits that pop up on eBay if you are patient!
  10. Ok, ok, my little brag from yesterday... :D Clever little Buzz Whippet won Baby in Group! He was a little superstar and as always, had a ball playing with other dogs and people alike Was nice to meet Amypie, and it's always lovely to catch up with vCBR and ST :D Diana Andersen took some lovely pics of my clever little man, am very excited about the future with him! Here he is, he'll be 5 months old next Monday My bubba is growing up
  11. If you have Facebook, try these : Suit Up Show Your Style It Suits Me Show Starz Show Suits Or, as Ellz said, Ebay is awesome! :D
  12. Another + for JetPets - have used them personally and have had clients use them and we've never had a problem with dogs being picked up or dropped off on time, and the contact from the company has always been exemplary. Have only had dealings with Dogtainers twice (not us personally but clients organising their dogs to be picked up from/dropped off to our kennels) and BOTH times there were long delays (resulting in dogs being in crates for MUCH longer than they needed to be) and we had to do all the chasing to find out what was going on.
  13. Thanks!! Didn't see you today...?
  14. Awww, what gorgeous little furry sausages!! Very proud to announce my bubba "Buzz" won his first fringie today at his second show He is now flaked out after a busy day socialising...
  15. City Farmers in Canning Vale had enormous big soft cushiony type beds on special for $50 last week...
  16. I didn't know! (the fact I haven't been to a show in months has nothing to do with it...) Congrats Faol, she is beautiful!! How old will she be when she gets here?
  17. Oh, so very sorry for your family's loss... rest well sweet Bella, may there be lots of out-of-print books to eat over the Bridge
  18. So sorry for your loss - hugs to you and especially your son Rest well Lexie
  19. Glad naughty Ryan is home and safe Griff! :D
  20. I keep popping in here and trying to type, then just end up deleting what I write as it all comes out sounding cliched, trite and just not...well, enough. So I won't say anything other than- Jed - so glad you are back, so very sorry for the magnitude of your loss and all my very best wishes & thoughts & love for a speedy recovery from hereon in... :D
