  1. Thanks UF - we were certainly blessed that the weather was magnificient and everything went off without a hitch... it was great to see how many juniors entered on the weekend and did a remarkable job with in many cases an unfamiliar dog.... I was pleased the crowd were so supportive and cheered and clapped at every opportunity... nice to see the future on display
  2. It is true that that was the information I posted on DOL however they were only the times etc that we had agreed on as a group... I personally was not there so can not comment on what happened except to say that I agree with Rebanne... committee members who were there were busy enough with out having play police about tarps...and those times were only offered becaseu that was when the committee felt they would be at the grounds... that fact that the grounds were open and tarps were already down would indicate that the committee or some members had arrived earlier than anticipated.
  3. Weather forecast for Sat is fine and 22 - 23 for Sun it is very similar... there was some talk early in the week about a few light showers on Sat but they have not mentioned that since Monday See you all Sat
  4. Thank You ...... You are welcome...now it makes sense...

  6. Obviously not.... just the way I have written it and I will make up a table and post it for you all tomorrow....but while I am here I will fix the typo that Tarakay didnt notice...
  7. Yes sorry Rebanne... Ring 1 is nearest the canteen, then ring 2 and then ring 3... hoping to change the setup a little to allow more space between rings... but cant promise anything...
  8. Just a short note to give you all a rough idea of group numbers and some other details. The grounds will be open and you can lay tarps between 11:00 and approximately 2:00 on Friday... after that the grounds will probably be locked as no committee members will be available at this stage ... they will be opened again at 6:30 the next morning. There is a show van coming and we did have a coffee van coming but they pulled the pin last night... but our canteen is beyond compare and always has good hot coffee.... Morscha does an excellent job :D .... At this stage the weather forecast is for 21 degrees on Sat with a 20% chance of light showers but I will update the weather forecast on Wednesday or Thursday night. Numbers were posted last week and most people should have received them by now... Group numbers - approx - working from memory here Corowa - Sat Toys 1 - 64 Terriers 65 - 88 Gundogs 89 - 149 Hounds 150 - 195 Working Dogs 16 - 295 Utility 296 - 335 Non Sporting 336 - 383 Albury - Sunday Toys 1 - 56 Terriers 57 - 86 Gundogs 87 - 150 Hounds 151 - 201 Working Dogs 202 - 280 Utility 281 - 322 Non Sporting 323 - 368 Ring Allocations Mr Bob Bell Ring 1 both days Mrs E Benson Ring 2 both days Mrs J Mannell Ring 3 both days Look forward to a great weekend and see you all there.
  9. Try the Barclay Motel if you want your dog in your room... they used to allow this but were put off by some not nice guests... but I have heard they are allowing some pets... I will sit down and post a list tonight for accommodation unless someone can find an existing thread.

  15. BPIG Clumber congratulations Thanks Rebanne... what a great day.. I posted elsewhere that it was a great day, gorgeous weather, the best banana cake, great friends .. BPIG and we get to do it all again tomorrow.... And if SWAY is lucky I might just glance in her direction with some derogatory remark.... for which no doubt she will have an ample comeback
  16. Thank you to everyone who has sent thier wishes either personally or through this forum ... this was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my life and hope I never have to do it again. I take comfort that Folly isnt in pain, is free and happy and in a much better place where she is happily playing with her beautiful Aunty Cassie.... they were so much alike it was freaky and both went at an early age..... My heart is still breaking but .... RIP my beautiful girl
  17. So agree with all of the above... Trisven I can tell you that we frequently comment from inside and outside the ring that the judge didnt wait for the last exhibitor to even come to halt, much less watch them enter the ring before they have awarded a class in group ... but they have already judged every dog in the ring so should - in theory - already know what they want. Sway - we often enter under judges who have done nothing for us before, primarily because they are judging at the local show, we rarely have the opportunity to travel long distances to shows and if that's whats on offer, that's what you take. But over and above all that Trisven and many others will have heard OH comment many times... "Its only a $10 opinion and if you like that judge's opinion then you pay the $10 again... if you don't, then you don't enter under them again." But lets face it ... most of us are arm chair experts ... how many of us can actually truely claim to know everything there is to know about every breed in our chosen group - much less be an AB judge. I sit ringside regularly and say - "I don't know anything about XYZ breed, but I know what my eye likes" ... and sometimes the judge and I agree, but just as frequently I am wrong. I often get runner up correct so I am happy with my arm chair knowledge. Lets not lose sight of the fact that its a 'sport' or 'hobby' and I rarely take the deeds to our sheep station to a show with me.... But there are more things on a list for making a show popular than just the judges....
  18. VALE Leebru Centrefold Folly Sadly today we bade farewell to our beautiful little lady. She was only with us a short time but made a huge impact on our lives. She will be greatly missed. Folly 15 June 2010 - 12 April 2011
