Amazing - just had this conversation with someone else yesterday. She had been to Melbourne to show a bit lately and commented that it was crappy, the people are often unfriendly or two faced etc etc. I passed the comment that that is the main reason we dont go out of our way to travel to Syd or Melb for shows. Here is Sth NSW SMP is correct, we are very friendly. I like rural shows, we get relatively good numbers, great weather (most of the time), its not stressful, its good company, great friends, a picnic lunch, a couple of drinks if you like, finished early and home without panic. I see no reason to rush to big city shows unless ( and this is not directed to anyone inparticular) maybe some people feel they a have a point to prove or want bigger or better competition. I'm not a very compoetitive person so it doesnt worry me. And Trisven, that lady was over the moon at Holbrook, and its a great little show.

I get regular updates from several of my adoptors and its a great way to keep in touch. Plus I have a couple of my babies who live nearby and they have regular playdates and swim meets with our dogs.

I have a new baby to make her debut in February - no photos yet but she is beautiful and we are very excited.

THese stories are so funny, at the moment I think its a dead heat between Bisart Dobes and fifi. I have never fallen over (thank god) or gone the wrong way BUT I am such an unco person that every time I go in the ring its a disaster. Yes I have been showing on and off for years and know exactly what to do and have helped some younger or newer handlers. But its like my cricket coaching, I can teach you how to do it but cant play cricket!!

Congratulations Trisven13 ;) Oh AND Daphne Tirsven it depends on which road you are talking about, there are plenty of roads in and out of Wagga to get to Melbourne
-
Thanks for the results. Could you possibly tell me which Goldie and Mini Poodle went up please?

Have just now spoken to friends in Wagga who report that Wagga is accessible, the Coolamon to Ganmian to Grong Grong road is open. I will post an update in morning if I can. I said elsewhere... Safe travelling, good luck and have fun.

Have just posted an update in the other thread and will try to post an update in the morning Have just spoken to friends in Wagga at 11:00 this evening - Wagga is accessible and the Coolamon Ganmain Grong Grong road is open. Will post update if can Good luck, safe travelling and have fun.

I have spoken to several family members and friends in Wagga tonight and they tell me that there is water over some of the road from Wagga to Coolamon but that is from rain not river flooding and is expected to clear. There are some significant delays on the road from Albury to Wagga caused by water over the road at Culcairn but at this stage the road is open and it should clear by tomorrow. There are some concerns about the roads in Wagga itself I understand and of course the caravan park is now a marina but the town itself is still passable. Its my understanding that the Hume Highway is currently closed at Tarcutta but check again in the morning. I still maintain the Live Traffic site at MyRTA is the best option for checking road conditions and it constantly refreshes itself. I will try and post an update on the Wagga to Coolamon Road in the morning after my family travels over it to get to work.

Thanks your are a sweetie...home from the meeting already??? Meeting cancelled - a bit of a wet event
-
All roads open still except the Sturt Highway just outside Wagga on teh way to Collingullie. Just check the MyRTA website and use their Live Traffic option. Not coming ourselves but hope you all have a great time.
-
To date the only road closure is the Sturt Highway between the Gullie and Wagga so stick to the original plan of going through Wagga to Coolamon and Ganmain and then on to Grong Grong. For road closure updates best to use MyRTA website, then click on Live Traffic, make sure you select incidents and floods - its very easy site to navigate. Good luck everyone and have fun

Into Wagga Wagga, turn left at the round about (Colin Knott Drive) at Barbeques Galore - take the Coolamon Road through Coolamon and Ganmain on to Grong Grong - just follow the signs

How ture Newfsie but I was in Wagga on Friday. I drove through the storm on Thursday afternoon / evening to get there and have to admit there were some pretty scary moments. Wagga is in a bit of strife and for those going to Grong Grong next week it would warrant keeping an eye on the news and weather.
-
I was in Wagga last night during the rain storm - actually I was driving between here and Wagga - what usually takes about an hour and 10 minutes took almost two hours. Had to stop a couple of times because the rain was that heavy I couldnt see - have to admit that given that I was driving alone it was a little bit scary in a couple of spots. Lots of water around Wagga today and still some water over the road at Culcairn. They are predicting more rain for us and Wagga this weekend and over the next few days. Lets hope that everyone is ok and yes, that Grong Grong can proceed.

Rining today but these are great grounds with excellent drainage so shouldnt be a problem
