  1. Thank you.... thought they may have gone astray but obviously just late On a brighter note, we actually received our DogsNSW journal for December today... we dont usually get that until the second week of the month
  2. I have two subscriptions.... one goes to NSW and the other to S E QLD.... neither have arrived yet...
  3. Now you have me.... I met so many new people on the weekend... unlesss you came up and said... Hi, I;m evolving!! I probably didnt realise...... But if you had said 'Hi, I'm evolving' in my OH presence you no doubt would have had some silly joke in reply You got Rosie out of her crate for my Aunts to have a cuddle at the time. I think I told you I had a Finnish Lapphund. So I did.... now I can put a face to the name.... nice to meet you.....
  4. Has anyone received their November Dog News yet? I realise this is not really a show topic but I figured most of the people who read it would be conformation exhibitors...

  7. Well as much as I agree we needed a 2012 thread, 2011 isnt over yet and so I am very proud of my girl... she is 12 months and 3 weeks... and has more than sufficient points for her title and today she went BOB again....
  8. Group 3 BIG Gordon RUBIG Cocker Baby in Group GWP
  9. I wouldn't mind knowing the number without specialties as well Even assuming half are not all breeds though that is still 4x the number of shows that WA get :D ST, I definitely agree that normal shows split over should be dropped in WA! There was quite a bit of discussion on that earlier in the year on FB Yes, there have been some pretty smart people putting shows together in NSW. As an example, when there are shows in Newcastle, there are quite often 2 on the same day.... so makes it worthwhile to travel 2 hours (for me), share a hotel room and do 4 shows in 3 days or sometimes even 6 shows in 3 days. Another example is the Condo circuit (or western circuit) where there are 20 shows in 30 days or something like that, not sure of the exact number. A smart bunch of people got their heads together and came up with an idea which not only attracts good numbers to their shows but also helps the economy in small country towns that welcome (and look forward to) the circuit exhibitors each year. Exactly..... even our local rural shows.. several of the show committees have pooled thier resources, and joined with other clubs to make them a two day event. Certainly builds the entry up and it makes it worth the travel. For us, here in Albury we either have to travel for 3 hours to Melb or 3 hours anywhere else... very few shows at local level.... 3 single Ag Shows with an hour and then after that everything is 2 - 3 hours or more...
  10. Yep rained all day here,,,, but these are some of the best soccer grounds in the district so they have great drainage etc.. they will hold up well....
  11. And - all being well - I will have a new baby for 2012.... he is a bun in the oven as we write....
  12. Hahahahaaaa... thanks Morsha for pointing out that omission on my part... yes she is a RARE breed....I totally agree with you, that we rarely have competition, have both done well against the competition when it is present at breed level... but both breeds have been very well at group level (your kids a little better than my girl) and I cherish every little win, every little statemetn for the judge....because so many people told me 'DON'T GET ONE OF THEM, THEY NEVER WIN' my absolute favourite expression now is I'LL HAVE THE CLUMBER PLEASE!!!' And one day - hopefully we will hear it at group level for BIG... but as Silverblue has stated - in Vic (and we are border exhibitors) the gundog group is very very strong and there are some spectacular animals in our group and so for a junior of a rare breed a BIG would be rare itself.... I am not complaining - I love her to bits I am just stating a fact....
  13. [ My little 10 year old bitch still loves to show and is still in great show condition she won BOB at Melb Royal this year ,I do not show her every weekend maybe 4/5 times a year .But anyone who knows this little Bitch of mine (Tazma) will tell you that she dose not look or act like she is 10 years old.. I would have to support you there Morsha..Tazma is in top condition.. she is very lively, loves to show and goes around the ring like a much younger dog... she would easily pass for a 6 -7 yr old... In fact I would say there are much younger dogs than her, of many breeds, who are not in as good a condition as her... Like Trisven I have a breed, she doesnt often have competiion in her breed, but has successfully competed against them when they are there. Her breed doesnt often win BIG, but she has been shortlisted twice for BIG and has won several classes in group. She already has more than sufficient points for her title but had to wait for her first birthday and then acquire the magic 25 pts... and I treasure every point, every class in group and her 1 puppy in show And we are long way from even thinking about a Gr Ch or Supreme Ch... However, I understand the concerns of the other posters but - it is what it is and we live with it...:D
  14. Holbrook Show Society - Jo and here team run a great show... and it was great that you chose to support them... we cant afford to lose these lovely local shows.... Well done Rebanne and to the Holbrook Show Team.

  17. We stayed at pet friendly accomodation on our road journey from northern NSW to Perth, WA back in March '11. 1)Glen Waverley, Glenn Innes back in March. It was a great place to stay - friendly hosts, very clean, etc. A great first stop . All places we stayed at were good, barr one! 2)Nyngan Riverside Caravan Park - great cottage, would've loved to stay longer! 3) A cabin at Broken Hill City C/Pk - small, but okay for one night 4) Try to avoid Port Augusta C/pk 5) Ceduna Caravan Park, self-contained chalet was great! Located behind the dunes to the beach 6) Madura C/pk/motel - was okay (no dogs inside). 7) Fraser Range Station at the western end of the Nullarbor was a fantastic place, great self-contained cottage 8)Goldminer C/pk West Kalgoorlie - an okay cabin/donga. HAVE JUST READ THESE POSTS AND GLEN WAVERLY TOLD ME THEY HAD A GOOD YARD, AND PLACES FOR SWIMMING SO i WILL RING THEM AGIAN AND DOUBLE CHECK

  19. When we go out that way we stay at the Pembroke Caravan Park with two dogs. It is a very nice park but you have to keep your dogs on leads. There is also Camp Tailwaggers on the Gold Coast. We also stay at the Gumtrees Caravan Park at Manilla. Same thing, dogs on leads but there is a sports oval next door. It is on the Namoi River, & very nice people Thanks Sheena.. Actually Manilla might suit us really well... would like to go and see the old family home in Bingara...
  20. Hi everyone, we are travelling from Albury to Brisbane in January... very hot travelling for the dogs even in a good trailer... we are looking for somewhere to stay at least one night in the Armidale area... a good yard where they can have a run would be fantastic but somewhere that was happy to have 4 very well behaved show dogs would be fanstastic....and of course we have to return a week or 10 days later so could stay two nights etc then... Any suggestions
