  2. Thank you for all your replies, Sandra777 and Trisven13 did you find much difference between keeping three over keeping two? easier with two?
  3. Hello :) This question is for those that have kept more than one puppy from their litter, I am considering keeping either two or three puppies from our litter and am wondering who has done this before and how successful was it, in regards to training, attention, showing etc. Did you house the pups together? or separate? Did you socialize all together or take one out at a time? Would you enter all pups at a show or just one pup on one day then another pup the next? I was just curious to other breeders experience with this as i don't want to bite off more than i can chew... Thank you

  6. Hi Heidley, what i am finding in my research is that there is not enough evidence that it is genetic, bitches with a UH producing litters with no UH puppies. Thanks for letting me know your experience as we are still weighing up what to do.
  7. Thank you, this why i have asked to see what other breeders experience is and what decision they then make.
  8. This is what i am trying to understand, if the said bitch had a UH and produced one puppy with a UH, then next litter none with a UH then if it is genetic why wasn't there any born in the second litter with UH? I know you can't answer this Trisven13, but would be interesting to know the answer..
  9. Thanks for sharing your friends experience JessicaM, i appreciate it. Thank you also Lablover
  10. Hi everyone, I have a litter of puppies 7 in total, my pick female for showing/breeding has a small Umbilical Hernia they are now 8 weeks of age. One other male puppy from this litter has it also, he is going into a pet home. So i am getting mixed information about whether i should keep her or desex and place in a pet home, my vet says it's genetic and to desex and when i speak to a couple of breeders they say there is nothing to worry about and it is not genetic just the mother being too rough when cutting their cords at birth. The sire and dam both do not have it, and with her first litter there were none with Umbilical Hernias, i had to cut all the cords myself (first litter and dam too overwhelmed). I appreciate experienced breeders advice, has anyone kept a puppy with a UH and breed with them? Did it throw off onto the litter? Thank you
  11. I just saw the woolworths pet insurance advert on tv, huge thumbs down with trying to portray the BB to be dog aggressive! Stupid ad
  12. We tried BlackHawk and my dogs lost weight and condition, they were forever scratching at themselves. So we switched to Eukanuba and have not looked back

    Importing

Thank you for your replies, I am reading all the information from DAFF and will contact the companies recommended for quotes. Yes i have to find out boarding fee etc with the breeder just wanted to get an idea of what the cost will be for transport.
  16. Hello I am looking for recommendations for a company to price the cost of shipment for a puppy when it is of age to come to Australia from the UK, and any companies i should keep away from through your experience also. For those breeders that have imported what is the step by step process for importing. Please feel free to pm me if you prefer. Thank you kindly
  17. That was really interesting, thanks for sharing :)
  18. Hope there will be still space to set up around utility ring tomorrow
  19. me too, your dog, your rules. I agree, your dog your rules. Some people can be rude, over the top and annoying when they want to pat a puppy - Many people need to understand that the puppy is yours and not theirs, and you did not bring it out for them to pat or play with. I also agree
