  1. My neighbour across the road has two Bichon Frises indoor dogs and they bark alot, they are definatley vocal.
  2. So sorry Cas, rest in peace Donkey and go find your buddy Jake
  3. Hi guys Just wondering if anyone can tell me if show training has started this year? Does anyone has a contact mobile number for whoever is in charge of the training Thank you
  4. Sorry to see people being stung from fraud companies, so unfair. I have only recently had the same happen to me with a different online company and i paid for 3 items (this was my xmas money that i chose to spend on the fur kids) the money was taken from my account that day 12th dec 2010 and i received nothing. I emailed the company and rang them was given excuses about delay etc then they stopped answering my emails/ phone calls and i got no where. So i contacted department fair trading and have reported them and thankfully i paid through paypal and they froze my money in the sellers account and gave the seller two options, post my items or give me a refund. I ended up with a refund 18th jan 2011 (thank you paypal!) I can't believe the lies that were told to me when i finally got through to the seller, he gave me a fake address which led to a 4wd company, i believe the products were never posted and he was scamming me (fraud) and thought he would get away with it by ignoring me. My next step would of been a solicitor and a police report. I also found out the seller has a ebay account and has changed his business name numerous times, with alot of unhappy customers that never recieved products or got there money back. Buyer Beware - dont ever buy from a company that only supplies a mobile phone number and po box address as contact details, no matter how cheap their products are.

  6. Hi I live near Maitland and im looking for areas where i can go hiking, walking, swimming etc with my dogs I don't have a social network here so have no one to ask, thought some local dolers may be able to suggest areas. Im bored just walking around the neighbourhood. Thanks
  7. I love it! well done and all the best for the future
  8. page 5 crikey! can anyone tell me if the show training at hillsborough has started for this year yet?
  9. Im thinking either GSD or GSP but couldnt decide which one to recommend so thumbs up to both
  10. My girl was sick last year coughing, then she was treated for kennel cough, didnt improve so xrays were done, the results were the worst, we were given no option but she would have to be pts. We spent the next couple of days doing things with her she hadn't experienced before, going to the beach, eating a ice cream, we spend all our time with her. My husband bought a video camera so we could have her on tape. I took more photos so i could put together a special photo album of her. The day we put her to sleep was shocking, i was a mess, we bought her home and buried her together, so heartbreaking. I will be planting a tree for her memory. I took me a little while to pack away her crate and toys, as for me i didnt want it to seem like she didnt exsist. I found it hard when people would ask me where she was/what happened, i would choke up and couldnt talk. Hugs to you
  11. What an interesting topic, i have been reading about Belgians and German Sheps as well for the future. On the GS side i like the look of the working lines much better than show lines as i dont like the roached back, not sure though if they would be too much dog for me to own. How do people exercise a working line puppy as i know you dont want to damage them while their growing.
  12. After the beach they get a rinse off with fresh water, but after swimming in the river i wash them with shampoo as the river water is brown.
  13. I answered no to all 3. If a breeder doesnt have a website and they came recommended to me i would ring them.
  14. I like a breeder to firstly have a website if they dont i move on as i like to look at photos, see the pedigree, look at the sire/dam, look at health testing if it has been done, future litter plans, breed information. I like a website to be up to date. I dont care if a breeder belongs to a club, as some dont follow the club rules anyway. Im happy to wait 6-12months, i would wait longer as well.
  15. Hi Does the BRT live in harmony with other breeds or prefer to be an only dog? Are they dominating with other dogs/cats? Can they be crate trained?
  16. Thank you for replying vesper12, the photos you have posted are impressive thanks for sharing
  17. What are there energy levels like, is half hour to an hour walk a day enough? if you skip a day is that fine? Are they constantly on the go? pacing and running around? How are they inside? energetic or relaxed? Do they have a doggy smell? Are they very noisey? bark at every sound they hear?
  18. Thank you everyone for all your replies, very helpful as i felt at a loss as what to do. I did not realise she may have a lack of confidence or bored. Yes i will try Hillsborough i have been meaning to just got too busy coming up to xmas, do you know when they start up for 2011? I guess we will have to see what happens, as i dont want her to be miserable in the ring. This is our first show dog we bought, difficult after having two different judges tell you to bring her back in the ring in another 12 months as they can't tell at this age 6-9 months how she will turn out. So both times no points for her. Other show people saying we have chosen the worst breed to show as they lump around the ring and there is nothing showy about them. They dont get looked at.
  19. Thank you for responding Faolmor, When im in the ring im confidant and excited, my husband would be nervous and we tried her with an experienced show handler and she acted the same. I remember when her breeder first showed her (baby puppy) and she did not want to be there at all, wouldnt even walk. Was happy when taken back to the car. i thought she was just being a scared pup. I dont want to make her worse by taking her to the dog show, thank you for your suggestion sounds like the best thing to do for her. Do you think in time her behaviour will change or am i asking a question thats impossible to answer?
  20. Our Neo Mastiff is nearly 8 months of age and does not like the show ring, we keep show training at home and on the day positive with treats and toys but once in the ring she tries to charge back to the gazebo. She refuses treats in the ring but happily takes them out of the ring? She hangs her head, tail right under and looks truelly miserable in the ring, running around the ring and stacking her all she wants to do is run back to the gazebo? Will this behaviour ever change? Socialisation and outings are not the cause of this behaviour as we take her out and about alot and her temperment is very good meeting people. We have found the time she is really herself and happy is at home. Any ideas?
  21. I would also be interested if there is a dvd for dog show training
