  1. We went by our vet's recommendations. Advantage for worming, Interceptor Spectrum for heartworm and Drontal for worming. (We have since stopped the drontal since Interceptor protects against worms too). What did your vet recommend?
  2. Jaeger LOVES his fruit. He doesnt usually care for anything I eat (not even the juciest hamburger, big t-bone steak, etc).. but if I've got fruit he will come running from a mile away . I have given him apples, mangoes, peaches, bananas, pawpaw, oranges, blueberries, cherries and pears before and he loves them all. It's only an occasional treat though and I have to be careful not to give him too much incase he gets the runs I dont ever give him grapes though.
  3. I use Fido's Oatmeal and Baking Soda. Not sure if it's the best (it's the only one I've tried) but I do think it's pretty good
  4. Info about meat meals from the Eagle Pack website: and from Wikipedia: What ingredients are in the Science Diet that you feed?
  5. I noticed this weekend that Jaeger's nose has a few unpigmented spots by his nostrils. This is the first time I've noticed it and I'm not sure what it's caused by and if it's normal or not He drinks out of stainless steel bowls and doesnt spend much time in the sun older pic for comparison
  6. Just curious Breed and age: Weimaraner, 7 months old Product name, size and cost: Eagle Pack Large Breed Puppy, 15kg, $101 Daily amount fed: 4 cups How long does the bag last: roughly 6 weeks Average cost of feeding/week: $16 Anything to add: Diet is supplemented daily with cooked pumpkin and weekly with sardines and bones. He is thriving on this but I'll be switching him to EP Holistic next week to see if he does even better. Breed and age: Lagotto, 7 years old Product name, size and cost: Proplan Senior, 17kg, $104.95 Daily amount fed: 1.5 cups How long does the bag last: roughly 16 weeks Average cost of feeding/week: $6.50 Anything to add: Diet is supplemented weekly with sardines and bones. 17kg bag is way too big for her (my mistake).. will be purchasing a smaller bag for her next time. Unsure if I will keep her on Proplan or switch her to EP.
  7. is it fishy? could be her that her anal glands are blocked
  8. Petwise doesnt have Eagle Pack (unfortunately ) but you can find it at Pet Stock, Pets Unleashed, Nose2Tail.. and a few other places (stockist listing on eaglepack.com.au) HTH!
  9. my dog used to occasionally get pimples on his chin when he was younger.. just like a teenager
  10. I live in Brisbane and my local Woolworths has chicken frames and necks.. as well as bags of frozen brisket bones. Also I know of a butcher on the southside who is open Saturday (mornings?) who carries all those and more. PM me if you would like the details
  11. sorry I have no advice but your girl is beautiful and I hope she is okay
  12. Sounds like it could be kennel cough to me too. Isnt the incubation period around 10-14days? Have you contacted the breeder to ask if any of their dogs have developed coughs too?
  13. Our two live indoors only wear collars when we take them out. I like both Rogz and Lupine brand collars
  14. I give Jaeger 2mg Polaramine twice a day when his hives are bad. It takes about 2 days for them to clear up completely
  15. already?! wow that was quick! have her eyes changed color yet?
  16. I found it at Nose2Tail in Oxley. According to the map it doesnt seem too far from where I'm at (near garden city) I heard that PetStock in Caboolture has it too but that's really far for me
  17. I cut his intake down to 3-3.5 cups/day for the week but he got too skinny (being a weim, there is such a thing as too skinny). I've managed to track down a place which has the Holistic large breed puppy and will try to pick up a bag today thanks for the input guys
  18. I dont know anything about this kibble except that it's the only all life stages kibble I've been able to find here in Australia: Nature's Gift Semi-Dry Might be worth checking out
  19. ours is a cordless Dremel branded one from Bunnings. Don't remember it being too expensive.. I'll find the price for you tomorrow if you like
  20. I rang Bayer and they said they havent heard anything like this before and suggested we take him to the vet. I do wonder if it's purely coincidental though since he does get hives sometimes from his seasonal allergies squeak- we bathed him a few hours before applying Advantage.. but in the past we've done the same and havent had any problems
  21. Have been giving my weimaraner Advantage monthly since we got him. He hasnt ever had any problems with it until yesterday's dose, which caused him to break out in a rash. The rash is mostly around his shoulder blades and also a little down the midline of his back, where it was applied. Since turning 6 months old, his weight increased to 28kg so the dose I gave him yesterday was the blue one for large dogs (25kg+). His prior doses were the small and medium dog ones. Should I go back to using the Medium one until he is bigger? or should I stop giving him Advantage all together and find an alternate flea treatment? thanks
  22. not in Sydney but my vet bill says $57 for microchip. I know the Animal Welfare League does it for about $35 though
  23. this page: http://www.pets.novartis.com.au/dogs/sentinelspectrum.html says Sentinel spectrum should be given monthly
  24. We worm (heartowmr + intestinal worm) both our dogs (6 months and 7 years) monthly.. I've never heard of stopping their worming when they turn 12 months... ? I use Interceptor Spectrum
