I was trying to help the OP with a discussion about Cavs. Given that the problems in Shepherds are completely different to those of Cavs I do not see the value in such a discussion in this thread. underfoot has Miss Willow only got 8 nipples?? Yes she does why? Interesting that a big dog which is likely to have large litters only has 8 nipples and a Cav which will usually have 1 to 6 pups has 11 to 12 nipples.

Now back to your original post. Who did you get her from ?? The breeder or someone else?? Did they sell her because she was not up to scratch?? Is she ANKC registered? What is the heart health of her ancestor? Are any siblings able to be viewed?? Are you able to see the parents??. Yes Pockets you are right 14 years ago I accidently bred ONE litter from an unregistered dog. When I realized I had missed the cutoff point for registering her I felt sick to the stomach.So these were sold as unregistered pets. I never made the mistake of delaying registering pups again. As to breeding my non ANKC dog no problems there.Due to the stupidity of your breeds controlling body white is considered a disqualifying fault.Thus these dogs were put to sleep at birth, totally healthy mind you, just the wrong colour. The ANKC refused to recognize the Australian bred dogs so they are a non event as far as the ANKC is concerned so I am breaking no rules by breeding my White German Shepherd. Apart from asking if the dog was ANKC registered none of the other questions have been discussed. Pockets you may not be aware but MVD is the major concern in Cavs and if this "seller" has moved on an unsound dog its an idea that the OP should think about. The OP has had Yanks and I do not know of problems in that breed so the OP may not have asked or even thought to ask the right questions.

I am with you Gretel. Vet nurse or not you should know the breed correctly. Common name is Cavs the others are Charlies.

If her birthday is the 14 of November then she is 3 months on the 14th of Feb so she is older enough for the 18th of Feb. ETA There are 52 weeks in a year not 54 so there is a descrepancy with age in months versus age in weeks. 3 months is 13 weeks 4 months is 17 weeks 6 months is 26 weeks 8 months is 35 weeks. Month wise goes on date of birth. Hence 1month 14 of Dec 2 months 14th January 3 months 14 of February. In the dog world the day of the birhtday you turn next age. 14th Feb Baby puppy 14th May Minor Puppy 14th August Puppy 14th November Junior.

I had a cav with almost no diaphragm. The vet pulled what remnants he could find together when he as 10 weeks old. Worked a charm and he lived a lovely life in a pet home.
