  1. Hey Erny - did you add it to your coffee  - I haven't yet but should give it a go. The lady told me that it is good to drink - not just for the dogs, it's the only milk they use. But use it within 3 days of it being out of the freezer. Hope your boy continues to eat and his poop stays firm. ;) APBT: I replied to you in the other thread, send me a pm if you like.
  2. It is very expensive at the shops that's for sure. Are there any dairy goat farms near by, if so I would contact them directly, will save you heaps. If your in the SE Vic area I can put you on to the lady who I go to, she is fantastic and so much cheaper. Pm me if you would like more info.
  3. Yep - way down south. If I thought we were close by I would have pm'd you - wouldn't want to be accused of doing sales on here. Just ask them to get them in for you - if they don't know about them their distributor may not have it in, but they should. But as puggy puggy said - you can always make up your own. would be much cheaper since you have 8 to feed. Then again I am feeding 1 adult Rottweiler and her 2 - 5mth old pups and an adult pug. ETA: oops forgot my manners - no worries Kyla.
  4. Sure is. Then again I often add some of my own extras anyway - makes it go further too.
  5. Thanks for explaining this to me. I find most people don't use the suggested amounts of the Van with meats/bone as the dogs don't seem to like it - but are fine once the amount of VaN is decreased. As I said - I don't care either way - as long as it is fresh and raw.
  6. If you wouldnt mind taking a photo (when you have time) Id really appreciate it. The store I buy my BARF from hasnt mentioned any new products, and there certainly wasnt anything new in their freezer this morning They did tell me it was going to have a fairly decent price rise fairly soon though to over $20 a box. The combo flavour is a mix of all meats isnt it? I have tried a few other flavours and they either refused to eat it, or they got the runs from it. Now we just buy chicken flavour I will get photos soon for you. God I hope there are no more price increases, I have not long caught up with the last one - I was selling for $18 a pkt until the last few months, now sell for $20. So far I have not heard of any new price rise. Yes - combo is Chicken, beef, lamb and pork all combined together. Have not heard of any one having trouble with the other varieties. Mine have different ones all the time.
  7. Stitch - my dogs are in reverse to yours when it comes to barf and van. I found that I had to use half the amount or they refused to eat it. Do you mix the recommended amount of meat/bone to the VaN?
  8. Nothing wrong with it, I have fed both. I stock the VaN complete mix and alternate when I feel like it, but mostly I am too lazy so just feed the barf with their bones. I can take photos of the chubs if you like, they are new on the market so not sure how many people are stocking it. There is also 3kg pkt of Big Barf only in combo. Packed in a single bag no other packaging - 3 kg mass. I think like all foods - they all claim to be better. I don't care either way as long as it's fresh and raw. (sp?)
  9. I have looked at stocking it but as you said it would be more expensive than the barf. The packs are 800g - not 1 kg. The barf also comes in 800g baby barf chubs that sell for $5.00 (roo is $6.00) and as you know there are no grains in Barf. Would be interested in seeing other comments about it too. eta: they don't need teeth with Barf either, it is minced up - no chewing required. My old boy had no problems eating it, wings and necks - he was missing quite a few teeth too. Give it a go, he might enjoy the change.
  10. Don't be sorry. Glad to hear from others who feed goats milk and who have so much success with it. Knew it was good - this confirms it. Let me know if you need more - I have heaps. lol.
  11. If getting in the dry food that your after is hard then would you consider going on a raw diet, you will have more control over what your dog eats then and can easily avoid the foods that you think could be causing the problems. Just a thought.
  12. If there's one to be had, with a bit of persistance from me, he normally will do a poop on command (after he's pee'd, then he realises I want more! ). But it's ok ..... he's just done one . Have collected the samples and if the tradesperson I've been expecting for the last 2.5 hours will just arrive (20 minutes away, he says after I've rung twice and left messages .... a phone call from him would have been nice - I have some dogs I need to go work and haven't been able to leave due to expecting him at 11am) I'll whip the samples to the Vets. :p :p well done... sad when we get so excited over a poop. After I post I thought that you would have mastered the "poop on command" should have known better. hopefully your tradie will get there soon so you can nick off to the vet. Good luck.
  13. I'm STILL waiting for a poop to happen. I'm sure he's holding out on me just 'cause I want it so much Thanks Andisa and Stolzseinrotts for the responses. Will do as suggested and give small amount until I can be sure it won't be upsetting anything. I'll let you know how it goes :p. ;) poor boy - the pressure is on so he must have decided to keep you waiting. Oh lordy there is no shortage of that around here. I know many have trained their dogs to pee in a pan on que for testing - not sure how to can encourage them to poop on comand. However it would make the task some what easier to collect it. :D
  14. Stolzseinrotts, I heard about your goat lady, so sad, don't know what to say when so many have suffered through the fires. The lady in Drouin is the same lady that I go to, Tracy put me on to her before the pups were born, she is lovely too. I just got 60 ltrs from her on the weekend, she must supply a lot of breeders, she will look after you. ;)
  15. I was told they only need about a cup morning and night with yogurt and what ever else you want to add to it. (big dogs - less for small) Mine enjoy it heaps so give it to them 2 or 3 times a day - not measuring just pouring in a bowl. They love it. Even the adults can't get enough of it. Erny - not sure, but when I started giving it to them again I just poured it in a bowl - nothing else added just goats milk, maybe just give small amounts at first and gradually increase it. Good luck and I hope all goes well at the vet. ;) Lisa. APBT : my Rottie pups are about 20 weeks and have only been back on it again for the past couple of weeks, they went off milk for a few weeks but decided they want it again. I guess they need it more now than they did earlier - who know. They stayed on their mum until 10 weeks as it was so they did alright. ETA: actually I was also giving them other milk powder they went off that and thought they didn't want milk anymore, I was told to put them back on the goats milk so I did. They love it.
  16. No worries Erny - jus thope it helps and your boy is back to normal real soon. Good luck with him.
  17. I buy it in direct from the goat farm either frozen or fresh. Just stocked up on 60 liters.
  18. lectric soda..available in the laundry section in the supermarket - and nope wasn't for a lab.
  19. Lab rat - I am not sure about all the health benefits for goats milk so I have put it out there in hope that some one else will have the answers for you. I just know it is good for animals and humans. When they are under the weather or lactating mums I feed goats milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, honey and sometimes and egg, it is very nutricious and a meal on it's own. I am sure that Q will be answered for you real soon.
  20. I mentioned in another thread that I am givng my pups goats milk, and it has helped with increasing their appetite. I was asked what are the health benefits of goats milk. So in a nutshell I don't have the right answers so instead of bluffing my way half cocked and no real idea thought it best to start a new thread on Goats Milk. So appart from being very good for allergies and calcium - why is goats milk so good??? I know many others here use it too - so come on I need help in answering this question... Lisa.
  21. Erny - I am in Narre Warren, not far from you, let me know when your able to pick it up. I will send you my contact details, sorry for the reply late, would have had if for you today. Or if you want to come by tonight that is fine. When mine are off food I give them goats milk, yogurt, honey and cottage cheese. Great when they need a pick me up. Also fantastic when on antibiotics, you can also give him some innerhealth caps. Lisa.
  22. Erny - since my pups (5 m/o Rotties) have been back on goats milk I have noticed an increase in appetie, don't know if it is related to the goats milk or just timing but they are looking fantastic. I stopped giving it to them for a while as they stopped drinking it - but now they want it again - I guess their little bodies need the extra calcium. Goats milk should help with the digestive issues. I have just filled up a freezer today I am happy to give you a couple of liters to see he goes. Hope your boy is better soon.
  23. I had a 3.5kg dog that needed a scale and clean with 1 tooth extracted and another one was injected with stuff that was supposed to be instead of removal - total bill was $300 - $400 but was a couple of yrs ago now at a dental specialist. I even stayed in to chat while he was being done. A 10 mth old Rottie had a tooth capped last yr that was $800 including the follow up 3 mths later at the same specialist. ETA: both times the dogs went home - why are they keeping the dog overnight? don't like the way the vet clinic was pushing other products on them, I would go else where I think.
  24. Thanks MM, wasn't sure with the chicken, but will not be marinating it for the dogs. Will be trying liver next but chicken will be a close 2nd. 6 weeks sounds good - but doubt it will be here long enough to see just how long it can keep for - might need to stash some to get an idea how long it could kep for. luvsdogs - I got a cheap on from Deals Direct, was under $50 reduced from about $90. Only done the one batch and looks like it will be geting regular use. I have seem some better ones for $360 - but I was not spending that much.
