  1. One pretty obvious difference is the number of dogs competing for those prizes. A dog that beats hundreds of dogs for BIS is IMO entitled to a larger prize than a dog that beats perhaps 20? Neuter in Show shouldn't be a shabby prize but it's not equivalent to BIS from where I sit. It's a class in show win. If all the Neuter competitors are past entire Champions, I have to question why people are getting upset about it. Hardly a level playing field for someone cutting their teeth on the first dog they've ever exhibited in the neuter ring. Personally I'd like to see past entire Champions prohibited from entering neuter classes. Let it be a class where people can learn the ropes before entering the entire classes. Mind you, I'd like to see the most junior of Junior Handlers limited to exhibiting neuters... that might improve the number and quality of neuter entries rather smartly. Please tell me WHY a good guality dog who might have had to be spayed due to health reasons, but love to show be excluded from dong something they obviously enjoy, just because they already have obtained a title of Australian Champion, while they were entire? No hang on dont bother. Its comments like that which make me see red! I Show both entire exhibits ahd have shown a little girl who just LOVED to be in the ring, but who was neutered for health reasons and she had an absolute BALL doing it, and it made ME happy to see her enjoying herself. She had numerous Neuter in Group and Neuter in SHOW awards, and I was SO proud of her. Very sadly she has gone over the rainbow bridge, but why should these dogs be excluded if narrow minded views like this one are being voiced. I was at a show recently where th best neuter in show line up, could EASILY have been the BIS line up! The quality of neuters out there in the ring is awesome and I take my hat off to them all! KEEP IT UP GUYS!
  2. It's in the first post, Luis Pinto Teixeira fr Portugal :) thanks lovie, I didn't read the first post, I went to the last one!
  3. Mr Luis Pinto Teixeira (Portugal) Thanks!
  4. Which Judge is doing BIS????? I can't seem to find who it is!
  5. ummmmmmmmmmm was there today, I know their name starts with a P and they usually do it each year! its been a VERY long day, leaving home at 3.30am and only getting back at 9pm! Sorry it thats no help! I do have their card in the car, will find it tomorrow!
  6. I've heard on the grapevine that they have done this before! NOT good!
  7. So The Swedish judge is doing grp 7 but the Irish judge is doing the Grp 7 Breeder team? IS that correct? Wonder if they'll take late entries? Probably not. BB COUGH, COUGH, COUGH LATE ENTRY!!! hello!!! the entries closed in June! the Royal is NEXT WEEK! how many Royal Shows do you know where they will accept late entries the week before the show begins, when the Catalogue has already been done and numbers sent out! GET REAL!
  8. the Swedish judge is only doing certain Breeds within Groups ... he's not doing any Group Specials. you would have to look up the schedule to see who is judging what. I know that my breed in Group 7 was originally meant to have one of the Finish Judges..............kind of happy it's now Irish Judge.
  9. unfortunatly NO! they have already told a friend of mine there would be no refunds. Its not OUR fault the original judges canceled! Not happy!
  10. She is beautiful Paige! and you looked good on the end of the lead of a Schipp too! :D
  11. It was Chapman's Am Gr Ch/EE Ch Nanhall's The Following Sea (Imp Fin) who I think also gained his Australian Champion title on the same day. And he did it again yesterday, he was awarded Best of Breed and RUNNER UP TO BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP on Sunday under Mr D Windsor from Canada, who has Schipperke. Was a wonderful weekend with excellent results for this little black dog. He is now an AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION as well as American GR CH, Est CH! what a dog! I have to say, I had the greatest pleasure in handling him for his owner, who had another younger dog in the BIG line up!!! OH what a thrill!
  12. Pomeranians on at the Royal on Saturday 7th, then have Speciality Show at EP on Sunday 8th, should be heaps of Poms there! I can't wait! I'll never have seen so many Poms in the one place at the one time!!! and 2 of them are mine!!!!
  13. Oh dear Rebanne! I think you must be working too hard! ;)
  14. yes very pleasing. :D I got entries for one but not the other I entered! :'( Hope they come soon! Rebanne, can you let me know that you have my little girl entered in Gp 7?? GS! Minor puppy bitch! Ta hunnie! if you entered via OzEntries and had dogs in different names to your own, some numbers have been held back and are available for pickup on the day. It was not always perfectly clear which of these dogs went with which person so if there was any doubt the numbers have been held back. Edgesmum you will need to send me a PM with a few more details then the above. I don't know who you are :) or what the GS refers to (German Spitz ? but what sort?) Hi Rebanne, I have sent you a private message, and yes GS is German Spitz, (Mittel)! You will know me when you see me! black and tan pom mean anything???
  15. yes very pleasing. :D I got entries for one but not the other I entered! :'( Hope they come soon! Rebanne, can you let me know that you have my little girl entered in Gp 7?? GS! Minor puppy bitch! Ta hunnie!
  16. ALL rings OUTSIDE! weather conditions doesn't matter: Rain, hail, snow, heat, wind! I was going to enter the Royal this year, but other things have come up, so won't be going. 4 rings up the top don't have that much room around them, so depending on where you are, you'd best get there early! but there is more room around the bottom rings, but you can't see whats going on in the top rings, you have to keep an eye out if you are up there. Good luck to all entered! edited cause I can't spell tonight!
  17. Surely the Club could approack the local Scout Group and ask if some of the older scouts and scout leaders would be able to do this over night security? or the local Army Cadets? or approach the local council for sponsorship seeing that the People from the Dog show do spend money in the town, it could be proactive? I heard of a show jacket being stolen and some other stuff seems to have grown legs and magically disappeared too! What a hide some people have!
  18. Understand how much you have had to do aimals but there is no need to be so narky. The questions are reasonable and the posters are polite. As I understand your position as secretary, I would think that you either stood for the position or volunteered. If it is too much for you, perhaps see if you can get an assistant or step aside so others see your workload. Well said TessnSean! Almals, I'm not having a go at you, Nobody is, BUT I am trying to suggest that you set a bomb under the butts of the other Committee members and get them to spread the load a little more evenly. You might have more time to concentrate on One thing at a time then. I would have thought that the WHOLE COMMITTEE would share the arrangements of organising such a show, and not have the entire workload dropped in one person's lap. I can hear you say, 'you don't know whats involved'!! I can assure you that I do know what is involved and have organised events and functioned as Secretary of a Club for a fair few years. When I was secretary of a Club, ALL the Committee banded together to get the jobs that needed to be done, done! and if something else needed to be collected and I was out of time, I could always delegate someone to take care of it. The Canteen Manager did their own shopping, cooking and running of the canteen. The Secretary was responsible for receipt and collation of entries and organising the catalogues, getting competitor numbers written, writing up of point score cards, sending out of marked catalogues to Governing Bodies and other such work. The Trial manager made sure lawns were done, rings were up etc, and the event ran smoothly. This is what a functioning COMMITTEE does, they work together. Mind you we ran two events at the same time, on two consecutive days, and on the same grounds, and on more than one occassion each year, with quite a few hundred entries. We did not send out numbers either, these were collected by the competitors on the morning of the event. In SA, numbers are not sent out, they are collected along with catalogues from the Secretary's office on the morning of the show, (cutting down on 1 less job to be done) If people sent envelopes, they were merely for acknowlegement of entries. I think Victorian Clubs should save their secretary's more work and move down this track. It is simple to do and efficient.
  19. I hope that is a typo!!! did you mean the group numbers for Gp7 are from 480 to 556 (76 entries) and not 280 to 556 (276 entries) otherwise thats a bloody good entry for gp 7!
  20. This is a head shot of my new hopeful for this year! she is quite feral as 90% of spitz that I know are! ;) unfortunatly she is going through the 'UGLIES' at the moment, but we will wait quietly and see how she goes! Good luck to everyone with new babies, I hope you all do well with them!
  21. I believe last time I flew with Qantas (about 12mths ago) they had the same limit of dogs per flight! so if you want to fly with your animals, you'd better book early to avoid disapointment! ;)
  22. OH Swayed, that is terrible, I feel SOOOO sorry for you! that a terrible thing to find a loved fur kid had died. Sending you lots of hugs and healing wishes RIP Willow
  23. This is fantastic news Troy!! I would also like the 20-25 shows, as this makes it fair to everyone. Also, are you going to include the point score to include Neuters??
