The only difference is where they are from and who they are registered with. It's complicated. ETA - I really should explain..... German Shepherd (colour white) - an ANKC registered GSD from two registered parents who are coloured. Must be placed on the Limited registry. Are very few and far between. White Swiss Shepherd - an ANKC registered dog from FCI lines. This breed 'evolved' from American-Canadian White Shepherds which are actually just GSDs which are white. Only known as Swiss as this was the first FCI country to recognised the dogs as a separate breed. White Shepherds (USA only) - UKC registered dogs, can be dually registered as AKC German Shepherds and a couple have been triple registered as FCI WSS as well. White Shepherds in Australia - there are the ANKC ones, plus the ones from Oz lines which the ANKC don't register but are registered with two different breed clubs - as White Swiss Shepherds - this club has been breeding separately for about 10 years, the second organisation called them White GSDs and has been around for about 4.

At least 3 of the car wash places around Werribee/Hoppers Crossing have DIY hydrobaths. Also, Wellpets Vet Clinic on the old Princes Hwy has/had a DIY out the back of the clinic (I don't know if they still have it).

Our kids had a sensational weekend! Yay for the WSSDs! LMWS took Inga and Thor to Erskine Park this weekend. Yesterday Thor was in a Sweepstake and came 3rd out of all the dogs entered. I think there were about 20. We were rapt at that result. The kids then went out for the All Breeds show and our Inga got Puppy in Show!!!! She as also shortlisted for Best in Group! We are so proud! Then today Thor got Puppy in Group. And LMWS OH Dale and his dog Riot were awarded Intermediate in Group! I can't remember Riot's kennel name but he's a GSD. Thanks LMWS and Dale for handling the dogs in such a fantastic manner and for tarting them up before the shows!

If your dog has a stopover at another Cat 2 country, the quarantine facility at the airport will take your dog out, make sure they are feed, watered and toileted. Our kids stopped in Singapore on the way from Sweden and we were able to call the facility in Singapore and talk to the people about their condition and everything.

Thanks Guys! We are so happy with the kids. Our wonderful Thory Dory got Puppy in Group again yesterday!

We shipped two dogs from Sweden in November. We used Jetpets and they in turn used Scandipets. Scandipets were excellent. The airlines our kids were flying on cancelled all pet cargo for November at the last minute, so Scandipets drove our kids to Norway for us!! Okay, we had to pay but not too much. The service from both Jetpets and Scandipets was excellent and I couldn't recommend either more.

I have another White Swiss Shepherd brag! Our boy Thor, Vallgardens Ghostly Gladiator (IMP SWD) got back to back Puppy in Group this weekend at Cowra! The judges were Mr T Syme (VIC)and Mr N Trainor (NZ). Also, our kids critique featured in this month's Dog News Australia magazine and it was pretty good! WHITE SWISS SHEPHERD DOG – Judge: Nina Karlsdotter (Sweden) Well, I am impressed. Two beautiful dogs with correct details for the breed. They both have very good pigmentation, well shaped dark eyes and well set ears. Both have an excellent neck and topline. Both of them are very young dogs, and so very promising. Good bone, personality, feet and angulation, and excellent movers. They have good coat quality; they could have a bit more undercoat but the colour is perfect. Congratulations. LMWS, Arawyn and I are very happy with how the kids are doing.

I've been 'told off' by LMWS as I forgot to add that Inga got Minor Puppy in Group on the weekend as well.

I have a small brag to make! Our boy Thor, Vallgårdens Ghostly Gladiator (Imp SWD), reached 100 points this weekend! Thor is not quite 9 months old, so he will still have to achieve 25 points after he turns 1 but he now has enough points to be an Aus Ch!!! Myself and his co-owners - DOL members, Luv My White Shep and Arawyn could not be happy. Thor is the first dog of the breed to achieve this many points and the first White Swiss Shepherd to achieve this many points with competition within the breed! Also, his sister Inga, Vallgårdens Glitzy Glamour (Imp SWD) only needs 7 more points to hit 100! I'd like to thank LMWS and her partner Dale who have tirelessly taken Thor and Inga to all their shows and expertly handled our special kids! I'm so proud of you both! Also, a special thanks to everyone else who have handled the kids since they have been in Oz!

I'm sure her Mummy and Daddy would be shocked to hear that she doesn't look like a shepherd.

Ummm, as the owner of two ANKC main registered White Swiss Shepherds, which is the FCI name for White Shepherds, hence White GSDs, I will disagree which this statement. It's only the White Shepherds of Australian origin which currently can't be registered, like Chewbacca's poor depressed Kimba.

Another Pet Plan person - they don't cover pups going OS though or immediate family and their definition of immediate family is quite large.

Anyone know if this lecture is going to be repeated at Bulla later in the year?

BB you know Inga and Thor are White SWISS Sheppies not White Sheppies.
