Thanks for the suggestion, i'll try the PAW one sometime to see how she goes with it.

Epiotic stung my dogs ears something terrible. She never squeals with the malaseb like she did with that hence the reason i have stuck with it.
-
I do everything exactly the same as you. My GR is prone to ear infections, and the ear cleaners always stung her ears. So I found out about the malaseb ear wash and ever since i have done this she has had very few ear problems. Been using it once a week for almost 12 months now.

Hi whitty ;) I would highly recommend the swimming. Charlotte did a double knee injury and her Hip has Degenerative Joint Disease on the right hip. We were recommended to get her swimming for her hips, we had to ease her into exercise slowly due to the risk of her re-doing the injuries again. So we took her once a week and it built up muscle tone, got her legs moving and originally she was doing 6 laps of the indoor heated pool and she now copes well with 20 to 25 laps. I am going to try her for the first time for nearly 5 months in about a week or so how she goes with swimming at Ruffey Lake. She has swam in cold water twice now and she went well, but would just like to see her swim in water she really loves - dirty water with ducks Just for the record she never gets ducks just likes swimming with them. About 2-3 times a week she manages a walk around the block (half hour walk). Every night she gets Joint Guard which has helped alot and fish oil capsules. Every so often she gets a booster of Cartrophen (she had the course in the beginning). On her bad days where she needs a "pick-me-up" the vet said we can give her Rimadyl but not on a daily basis. I do highly recommend the Joint Guard and getting him onto something to help with the pain or discomfort from his arthritis.

i think last time i paid to get in it was $14 When i am there as a stand person, i dont have to pay as we got free admission last year.
-
Lappiemum: I highly recommend it. I have gone 3 yrs in a row only last year i had a stand so couldnt leave to look at as much things as i wanted to. I did manage to see the breed stands though and got some golden cuddles.

People Wonder Why I'm Scared Of Spiders...
Sankari replied to Leithy's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I HATE spiders. In my book they can ALL die especially when youre just about to get into bed and theres a massive one IN the bed!!! -
Oh they are stunning! Would love a Sammie one day.

Thanks, yeah quite a distance unfortunately. They had it at westfield pets at home but i didnt know til they were packing up so couldnt rush home to get her I am a VIP but i only got a message about the fountain gate one other than that no advertising about it up here.

I was just wondering does anyone know anywhere that will be doing Santa photos? Where i got it done last time arent doing it again so am wondering if anyone here happened to know of somewhere. Oh I am north east suburbs melbourne.
-
I had the same thing happen with exactly the same food. I too wondered if it was the food, i changed to a different one and she didnt get it. I put it down to the food.
-
I hope he's ok Jetty. Char has Advance adult chicken and once or twice a week i give her roo. It's too rich if she has it too often.
-
Jetty: sorry to hear he still isnt right. I dont like the sound of green runs. Have the chicken necks come from the same place? is it at all possible that they are a little off? I know that has happened in the past from a place where i used to get roo tails and roo mince, when i got it from a different place it was far more fresh and since then she hasnt reacted. I would be giving him boiled rice and chicken tonight as it is bland and if he keeps that down then maybe try a little dry food, thats what i do
-
Me too. I would much rather have a massive aircon bill than clip a coat that is not supposed to be clipped. I do pretty much all the things Ravyk suggested.
-
Double coated breeds arent meant to be clipped. Their coat insulates them ie keeps them cool in summer warm in winter, by clipping them you actually take that insulation away and their coats grow back very differently. If you ask me it's a bad idea. I have a double coated breed and her coat is long but extremely thick. She lays in a clamshell pool in and out most of the day, but she is inside with air conditioning most of the days. She's an inside dog but she does spend time outside during the day on the not as hot days.

Keeping your boy in my thoughts. If Cancer is back is it possible it is Lymphoma has the vet thought about that?

Love the photos everyone!

Ditto here Loving the pics Lappiemum... looking forward to more.

Golden Retriever - To Clip Or Not To Clip?
Sankari replied to loulouB's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
She does dry very quickly after she has been in the pool and the minute she starts drying she goes back in. Goldies who have such a water drive like mine its almost impossible keeping her out! I didnt mean she is in there all day without getting out, worded it wrongly i meant that she is in and out of it all day but does lay there for long periods on very hot days. If she is wet once the heat has gone i do blow dry her. On humid days i dont tend to let her out or i cover the pool up with the other side and put a brick on it as she knows how to open it unless something is put on it to keep it closed. -
Golden Retriever - To Clip Or Not To Clip?
Sankari replied to loulouB's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
OG: Your girl is just beautiful. My golden Charlotte is inside most of the time but during the day is outside. I have had her 2yrs and she has a lovely big thick wavy coat. She rarely sheds pretty much only twice a year. Except this year i am still waiting for that summer shed... Hasnt happened as of yet. I also know of a local golden who is very cream young maybe around 12 to 18 months who sleeps outside and has a complete opposite coat to Charlotte. To the OP firstly she's very pretty. Second I would never clip a golden, i have done it in my grooming days and the ones who came back each summer for their clip their coats just did not look right. Like others have said, they need their coat for insulation etc but looks like you've made the decision to keep your goldie in coat which is good. I have a clam shell pool for my girl which she lays in there nearly all day rarely gets out of it She is a big water baby. Maybe you could get one for her :D ours broke last night so i'm off for late night shopping to grab another at Kmart for $30
