  3. sorry guys Satu is still in season she "might" be out on sunday next weekend but i think i'll need to wait til next month to go to kepala.
  4. Terrific! thank you for that. I am going to have a sticky beak at their classes tomorrow morning. Cant actually take Satu down for a few weeks as she has just come in season so once shes out of season i'll take her and see how we like their classes. i emailed them and a extremely prompt reply and answered my questions etc.
  5. Anyone else got recommendations?? I found one in eltham called The k9 company. Has anyone heard or used them before?
  6. Ollie is a black and tan from kalevi (different breeder to Satu). One month older than Satu. I'll Google it see what I come up with :-) In comparison Kepala is 40 mins for me.
  7. How far is Keilor? I have to rely on someone to drive me currently they are saying yes to up to half hour drive but that's it (until I have my P's I need close to home). I used to take Charlotte to warringal years ago and they were really good.. I heard they moved but can't find out where. You have probably met one of her siblings, a cream boy? I think hunter goes there.
  8. Hi I was wondering if anyone can recommend good obedience classes to go to. I have an almost 9 month old Finnish Lapphund who i'd like to take to a class type environment (i am currently showing her and she knows basic commands like stand, drop, come & sit). Just having some issues with the stay and healing on a loose lead. If anyone can recommend somewhere around the north-east suburbs within about 15-30 mins travel from Mill Park that would be great. TIA
  9. For eyes I definitely say Animal Eye Care in Malvern. I have used the physio at advanced vet care and have heard very good things about their surgeries and specialists there. I seen a specialist over at Melbourne veterinary specialist centre in glen Waverly. She was pretty good considering my golden retriever was battling an auto immune disease and her treatment plan was tricky to get her under control. She was very nice in sending us a sympathy card when Charlotte was PTS too.
  10. After my breed (Finnish Lapphund) I love watching golden retrievers and English Springer spaniel.
  11. Satu has decided shes sexy so i was originally thinking of skipping a show and having a fun day instead - so she will probably still be in season if my late night calculations serve me correctly
  12. I wasnt sure who it was who got the RU BIG sorry my lappie was the one who got puppy in group (my first show dog and first class in group win for us so very very proud of her for that)
  13. Group 5 BIG: corgi Puppy in group : Finnish Lapphund
  14. I'm silly and have shows every sunday in october  i might be able to skip one
  15. I had previously owned golden retrievers. I got my first dog when i was 16, i owned a few over the years. a few years ago i was researching my next breed to own, after researching solidly for months i decided on a Finnish Lapphund. I spoke with a breeder i knew who told me alot about the breed, temperament, health etc So early this year I got my lovely cream Finnish Lapphund Satu. She was a companion to my last golden Charlotte who sadly passed 4 months later. Satu has been an amazing addition, best decision on breed to own. I will definitely have another in the future!
  16. our first dog had hers removed. That would have been in 2006. was was incontinent for 5 days following surgery but was fine after that, she needed bran in her diet sometimes as she was a bit constipated sometimes. she had infected glands extremely frequent as well as abcess after abcess and having them emptied every 2 weeks was not only painful but extremely frightening for her (she was an abused puppy farm pup). Diet changes and everything else we tried did not work and after talking in depth with her vet, she was better off having them removed.
  17. I can't believe my beautiful girl has been gone a month already. We just got her ashes back saturday just gone. the house seems a little less empty now. I can feel her presence here with me and everywhere i go. Always loving you Charlotte
  18. Here is my Satu at 7 months! shes a challenge and a half to stack and we had done show training in sloppy mud and rain yesterday so the best photo i could get  and here is a cute photo :)
  19. Thanks for letting us know!
