  1. i've seen the litter twice already they are sooooooooo cute!!! I am not fussed on colour, i am just excited to get one :D
  2. Either Tri colour or Cream, they are 4 weeks today, so i find out in a few weeks which one is mine
  3. Getting s show puppy from LM's litter of Bear and Sohvi :D known I have wanted one for years and the last litter with Tasha wasn't good timing for me at the time. But now it is great timing :-)
  4. She was a puppy farm puppy so chances are she was too frightened to toilet inside anyway! Although i was talking to someone who has a nephew to dad of the pups and he said his dog took 5 days to be toilet trained so lets hope she will be just as easy to toilet train as him!
  5. toilet training took 3 days with our last puppy. sooooo hopefully it's the same here too! I am lucky enough to have the bedroom next to the back door so i can easily do toilet trips in the middle of the night without waking the rest of the house!
  6. I havent owned a puppy for nearly 10 years so it will be a challenge to say the least!
  7. considering i knew before puppies were even born i would be getting a pick in this litter, time has dragged on since december! i am almost completely prepared... i think!
  8. You want details do you Mim? Hmm let me see about details. i'm most likely getting a girl. she'll be 8 weeks March 17 so still a little while to go yet. oh and it isnt a GR this time. Getting a show prospect, will find out in a few weeks who will be mine
  9. Sorry but i am with stormie on this one. i get the impression it is being painted like its a huge story.
  10. ABC: I am with PIA I got a massive claim and i was very happy with how quick they are to process a claim. I cant fault them so far
  11. I use her too for my dog every 4 weeks. She is excellent and couldnt recommend her any higher, not sure if she does travel to SE suburbs, however does also work from Albert Park, and Kepala in Diggers Rest. I just pay her extra for petrol costs to come to me :)
  12. We will be getting a consult back to the specialist again, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas. What is the strangest thing is she's not scratching, biting or in the slightest bothered about this. The vet who works in the grooming salon i work in - we have a vet connected in the store as well as grooming and pet supplies, i had Charlotte at work and asked her to have a look and all she said was "just put her on sensitive skin food" but i do not think it is necessary for this situation. the skin is obviously caused by the disease not environment or diet. I'll get a consult with the specialist and also get some tests for thyroid - she hasnt had any tests for a little while at least not in the time the skin has flared up. So best i get that checked on. Thanks for the replies :)
  13. My 6 year old Golden Retriever has been on Macrolone since she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease Lupus. Recently i have noticed her skin extremely flaky, and the tops of her front legs hair falling out. She's not scratching nor biting and doesnt seem bothered by any of this, so I am unsure of how to not only help hair growth as well as help the flaky skin. Her diet is currently Holistic select, and i also add evening primrose oil, fish oil and echinacea to her diet as well as her daily medication of Macrolone. After some ideas of how to help her skin and hair growth. She is otherwise happy, healthy and energetic so i am not worried enough for a vet trip but just thought someone may have other ideas to add to her diet? ETA: Also noticed the pink skin on her belly turning black?
  14. I hear some red bells. Even the one and only puppy I have had GR from Puppy farm years ago, she was 2.5kgs at 16 weeks.. yes extremely underweight and malnourished, but even she looked bigger. I like others would expect a goldie pup to be at least 6kg plus by 8 wks. Very cute puppy BTW
  15. I work in salon and LOVE it. I agree with what others say, I could never work in mobile too hot/cold squishy.. i like having space and the backup with a difficult dog in the salon at least theres others to assist in certain situations.
  16. If I have that day off i might come with Charlotte.
  17. snakes scare the hell out of me, however i would never hurt one. I still class that as animal cruelty if anyone hurts them, and whacking with a shovel or whatever it may be is simply cruel.. Well done on the job you do rescueing these creatures, which I am sure PLENTY of people are very thankful to you for getting snakes out of their properties/houses. Wish Tiger a speedy recovery
  18. Thankfully ads can be reported on gumtree. I would have done the same. Hearing what i have about the ad sounds pretty darn dodgy to me and typical of a BYB trying to rope in $$ I do however not necessarily completely agree all dogs that grow up together must be rehomed together. My GR Charlotte i got 4 years ago, both her and her litter brother were being rehomed. I only got her as i already had an existing dog and i couldnt have 3 goldies where i live. She settled in immediately, she was 2yrs old at the time. I do think many dogs do not cope once seperated but Charlotte had no problem being seperated from her brother and she did also have a lovely playmate. Had we not already had an existing dog i likely would have got her brother also.
  19. Must be the same place i went to hand a resume into.. the second i walked in all i could smell was a massive whiff of urine and that was just the office section and i wasnt allowed past the gate to look at the place and i was going to work there!! I sure as hell walked out immediately, as I have this thing with hygiene that any animal facility regardless of whether it is grooming/day care/ boarding etc should be clean and smell clean, 4 days later i scored this job I have now :D
  20. That is utterly appauling that she was hurt, and supervision should have been done to ensure that wouldn't happen. Especially given the dog was growling! I am a groomer myself, and if a dog is growling or showing aggressive behaviour we muzzle them immediately it is our Policy to prevent injury to ourselves. We frequently have work experience students with us and they are NEVER left unsupervised. We have juniors who are under 18 working with us, and they do the bathing and drying, so essentially unsupervised but we check on them frequently and if a dog is showing aggressive behaviour or they are concerned about a dog's temperament they come and get one of us to assist with a certain dog. I think it is a very good idea the school will not be sending any other students there. Glad the bad experience hasnt tarnished her view of working with animals. There are definitely some pretty unethical workplaces, however thankfully there are MANY excellent places to work with animals :D
  21. I use Malaseb ear wash i make up from home, works out way easier. My goldie used to squeal anytime i would clean her ears with epiotic and since using malaseb she never ever squeals when i use it. So i'm going to stick with it. Our vet recommended cleaning her ears with this so since it's kept ear infections at bay i'll continue doing so.
  22. I dont think so at this point. I cant attend sadly.
  23. not looking promising for poor Charlotte either...
