  1. Thanks for the links guys, i'll have a look into it.
  2. Kyliegirl the video link didn't work, does it state that the cartilage comes from the fin? The SharkFriends link only mentions using for shark fin soup. I found this in the product blurb on the OzPetShop site: "...These chews are a natural by-product of the Australian fishing industry. No additional sharks are harvested to produce this product..." Eta:... which i guess depends on how ethical the Australian fishing industry is?...
  3. Yes, but not from a "package" - fresh from the fish man :p Really? That's fantastic, does the average fishmonger have them or do you need a special one?
  4. It's an AF-S lens, so it'll work fine on the D60. :p
  5. I reckon he was talking about dogs there. Heck, humans too! At least when there's three or more of them, i find, and usually men.
  6. FAIL FAIL FAIL Absolutely! BIG FAIL!
  7. Clever! Oh and you've got good taste in mobile phones. I've got the same one
  8. I have heard about that though i think it's when they're used for shark fin soup. Brings up a good point though, which part of the shark does the cartilage come from? Yep, that's mainly why we started feeding it, after Mila broke her elbow.
  9. Does anyone here feed their dogs shark cartilage? Our Frenchies absolutely love them, and i've read that they're good for roughage, like bones. I've noticed on the package though that it says to feed only one piece a day - does anyone know why that is?
  10. Wow, in terms of value, it's definitely worth getting - that lens stand alone would be at least $1100. eta: and it's a good lens too, pretty compact, if bulk or size is a concern for when carrying around. Have you been in the shops to get a feel of the camera? In terms of camera quality and abilities, it definitely won't be lacking, so pretty much comes down to how you like it in your hand.
  11. Depending on what type of 18-200 lens it is - eta: i.e. how fast, it could be a really good deal. Have you looked up any reviews? Here's one from DPReview
  12. Rumours can hardly be considered reliable! I've heard it's a very good entry level dSLR, i've seen some really good deals in shops too. How much is it with the 18-200? I've seen kits with other lenses too.
  13. Mwahahaha. I can do this for you as well although it was a bit rubbery Hell YES! Wow, i haven't had them in years!
  14. Nah, just a self-taught hobby. These were cakes made for family & friends. Wow you should start your own business, that is some serious talent! You've got some very lucky family and friends. Can i be your friend too? My birthday's in October so that should give you plenty of time. Yummo! Dinner at Raz's!
  15. WOW AnnaW that is seriously impressive!!
  16. Hey Anna - when you come East so Ollie can play with Morty can you just bring that one with you - I'll have my fork ready I don't know either of you but with cake like that, i'm inviting myself
  17. Somehow I doubt that VERY much! Ditto that! Okay here's a snap of the canvases that i'm going to replace: Might put the rugrats up instead.
  18. Okay let me work on convincing the OH ;) So how big did you have the stone triptych printed?
  19. I haven't had them scanned yet, i probably should. Now if only i can remember where i put them damn negs... WHOOOAA you had a darkroom at home? That is so cool! Maybe i should convert the guest bathroom into one, hmm.
  20. Ruth, love the stones! Where in Croatia was that? And those four would make great canvases (or canvas?), do them really big! I've got a couple of old abstracts on canvas that i got for OH, they've been up on our walls since we moved in together though recently i've been getting really sick of them so i might need to put something new up. I've also got a framed series from my final project for my photography class at uni - the only HD i got in all my uni years, not even my main area of study - they're a series taken in an old sandstone bunker site at Middle Head, my own hand made prints; printing technique-wise rather perfect, if i may say so myself ;) . Also got shown at a small exhibition, which was pretty cool. I also like to make little miniproofs and whack it on a blank card for birthdays and xmas, just little abstractey/quirky ones, patches of colour etc. It just makes it a little more special and personal than standard cards, which I haven't bought in years and years.
  21. ;) Really interesting photos though, who woulda thunk mold would be... kind of a pretty subject, in an abstract sort of way. *runs of to see what she can fish out of the bin*
  22. Oh no, anyone else want to help me on my 'mission'? ;) It's not just men, I've done it plenty of times! Sorry I couldn't make it, I really wanted to meet you and your two And i yours! Don't worry, that's just one more excuse to throw another party.
  23. It literally means: "Cheaper?" I'll teach you the swear words another time. Taking a local could help if they know of smaller shops. Oh i just remembered, there's a street in Central called Stanley St (right near Lan Kwai Fong, the main watering hole in town) that has quite a few independent camera shops, it used to be the place to get pro gear, though i think a few of them have closed down due to competition from the biggies. Might be worth trying as well.
  24. That's probably a wise thing to do. If it's any help, Fortress is one of the main electronics chain stores there, here's a link to their dSLRs and other gear. The prices you see are RRP, i believe. They're pretty much across the board these days. You might be able to find little shops that would take a bit off if you pay cash, or occasionally you'll find shops that stock parallel imports that are a bit cheaper. Broadway is another chain store your man could try. For non-chains, any shop on a main shopping strip/road probably would not be cheaper (due to ridiculously high rent) so don't bother. And if he wants to haggle in Cantonese, he can try "Pang(low tone)-Dee(high tone)-Ah(high tone)?" Good luck and happy shopping!
