  5. our vet has a kind and gentle nature. always answers my questions without being patronizing and encourages discussion if i am concerned about somthing... (i ask alot of questions) Our vet nurse knows all the clients and their situations and is very respectful ( small town )

  8. What is wrong with people.....Poor thing. How is the dog this morning?
  9. I have to admit then so am I I have dreams about my dogs, had one or two visit I am sure they are around and they do and will come back in another body. Besides if it makes me a nut job knowing that my dogs come back to visit so be it. For those that do not understand this with dogs or any other animals I feel sorry for them. It is obvious they have never shared the love of an animal within their hearts, lives and minds. An experience truly worth having even with the heartache of loosing them. You are so right.....It hurts like hell when they go but we do it again knowing the outcome. We have 2 other dogs and a cat, all adopted from Rescues. The love and loyalty they give us are sooooo worth it. Bubbas a big ridgie X who sat for over 5 monthes waiting for adoption, he is the best at giving hugs and kissing tears away. Angel is a cattle dog who used to follow Princess around and watch her like a hawk. She made it her job to protect Princess and watch her. She is missing Princess alot also. We are so lucky to have had 19 years with Princess, so blessed. Even with the heartache I wouldnt change the experience for anything.
  10. My husband talked to the Vet hospital manager and she was livid. She has asked that we write it down so that she can correctly give our vet the info and she assured us that they will deal with it. We know them well and trust them, so we are going that route with this. We talked to the Vet Ambo people who transport pets from the island and he is going to pick Princess up next run (tomarrow unless theres an emergency) then sooner. He said he would be honored to bring her back for us. He works for the vets and He was so lovely and respectful.
  11. Thanks for that info love my white shep. I'll see how i feel when we have her home. This may sound strange and it may be just my imagination but i swear i thought i heard her last night. She had a noise she made kinda like a raspy cough/bark when she had to go potty. She did this at night to wake me up to take her out. I thought i heard her do it last night. Im choosing to believe that its her way of saying shes still with us. That she is not in the ashes. If im a nut job then so be it.....it makes me feel better. Cynthia.. Thank you for your words. I do have a little religious candle that we plan to light when shes home. She will sit on th mantle with 2 others that have gone before. We have a nice 8x10 photo and her favorite t-shirt and her bowl. When I can keep it together I will put a bunch of her pictures in an album that we have of out fur kids that have gone.
  12. Little Princess is almost home. Shes at the vet at the mainland so she just has to get out to the Island. I will definetly use Pets in Peace next time as I am in the brisbane area but i hope thats not for a while. Thank you all for your kind words and heartfelt condolences it really does help.
  13. I do feel much better thanks to all the Dol people. Just sharing the incedent with people who understand helps. .............I soooo wish I had used Pets in Peace............... its good to know who to use next time. for those who have asked which company, im not sure if im allowed to put ? I dont want to get in trouble She will hopefully be transported to the mainland vet tomarrow and then out to the Island on Saturday. There have been alot of really good memorial ideas on here, we will most likely do something for her on Sunday. I will be triple checking all the transport details tomarrow. Thank you Muttaburra 19 years is amazing and she was one of a kind. We really tried and did our best with her. I guess we should really consider ourselves lucky. Our Vet was amazing (Rishi) and the Vet nurse Rosemary... what can I say she is the best. Princess's passing was peaceful and everyone was caring and gentle, she wasnt afraid or stressed and I guess thats the important part.
  14. Your right! Princess was our little girl, our best friend, our only family. She was tiny but had a huge heart. She was gentle, brave, smart, funny and absolutly adorable. She saved a neighbors life once when she alerted us to her having a stroke on the other side of the fence. When she passed, she was absolutly glowing, she was at peace and i know she was happy. Shes our Angel dog. She will live forever in our hearts.
  15. Kitt, Thank you for your comments. You have made me feel a bit better. We ordered pendants that are supposed to have a bit of her ashes in them to wear. Im not sure how i feel about that now. It may be a good idea to plan somthing else for her goodbye as well. I appreciate everyones comment and condolences, they do help. We have used this services twice before with no problems but with so many phone calls back and forth it just seems like to much.
  16. Thank you. It's to late, she's already been cremated, if i could, i would get her back. I just feel numb now.
  17. When I told him she didnt have a collar he went quiet then said ok and hung up. When we called back and said we were a little concerned the lady was really nice and made us feel better that there was no mix up. An hour later, she called back and told us the Princess would be delivered back to the vet tomarrow. My husband asked about the pendants that we had ordered and she said they had no record of it. They fixed up that confusion and then the man called back and was absolutley awful. He just went on and on lecturing my poor husband about "the Dog" as if she were an air conditioning order. His ranting and raving about it make us not sure again. I just dont want him touching our little girl anymore.
  18. We are beside ourselves! Our 19 year old toy poodle, the little Princess, got her wings yesterday. The pet creamation service has her now but they called to ask if we wanted to keep her collar. She didnt have one Now we are unsure if they are giving us the right dog. When we called back to make sure, they were nice but then a man called back and belittled my husband on the phone, he was talking about our little girl as if she was an air conditioner. We are both really upset now and are unsure what we should do. I am not sure what else to say.....we are at a complete loss
  19. I love it. I wanted to get a tattoo paw print of our toy poodle but am to much of a wuss. This is a great idea to do instead.
  20. So inspiring, I cant wait to try that myself one day. You did Great!!!!
  21. Our aged poodle went in for bloodwork to check her kidneys ect... just to see how her body was coping with the medication. It took several tries to get blood from her because they couldnt find a vein, they were trying to get it from her neck. There is alot of bruising now in that area. She seems fine not distressed or anything. Should we be concerned?
  22. I did have success on clomicalm. When our family moved to a rural area our recently adopted dog (a very shy Kelpie cross) had basically a freak out. It was just to much stimulus for her, everything new caused anxiety and fearful reactions. It did not sedate her at all, it just sort of chilled her out a little with the anxiety probelm . While she was on it we slowly exposed her to alot of the new things that she was afraid of such as the wheelbarrow, peacocks a tractor ect... it worked for us, she is fine now and was only on the clomicalm for 6 months, I think. It was several years ago. For us it just kind of gave us the window we needed to help her adjust and build confidence.
