  1. ha ha love it! Well the gorgeous girl has been dropped off at the vet clinic this morning for a health check. I did fast her last night, so she if they have time they will desex her today aswell. No more calling and no more babies for this little one. All the way there she stuck her paw out of the carrier and wanted me to hold it. How can you not love her? I told the girls at the vet I so wish I could keep her, but I know I can't. I still would like to have a little in reserve so when another needy is around the corner, I'm able to help out. I don't do anything on a grand scale, but I do what I can.
  2. It sounds like you have enough on your plate. The little girl is safe and will soon be fat and healthy. Do you have a rescue organisation, or do you rescue on your own? Just trying to think how we can raise some funds.
  3. Thats because she's in my bathroom. Oh my goodness!! That is the funniest/best thing. I saw "Ad has been removed" and my heart sank. And then soared and I burst out laughing. Michelleva, you are a doll I'm seriously gonna get SUCKER tattooed on my forehead.. LOL
  4. Christina do you really think a breeder that sells a cat for $200 undesexed, not microchipped and pregant really cares about the cats welfare? The lady I got her from told me she's timid.. I've never met a less timid cat in my life. LOL
  5. Here's a couple of pics.. I'm in love. Someone is going to be sooo lucky.
  6. Thanks guys, my husband went a bit mental when I told him I was going to rescue another cat.. LOL
  7. Thats because she's in my bathroom. She is being desexed tomorrow and then off to rescue.. Do you know she was purchased from a breeder late last year, as the breeder was closing down and selling all her cats. A month later they realised that she was pregnant, she had 5 purebred kittens in December. I was so terrified that she would be picked up by someone wanting to profit from her, and thats why I acted so swiftly. You know what she's an absolute sweetheart. She walked out of the carrier, purring her little head off. But she's in horrible condition, very skinny and her fur is all greasy. But she was very stressed out where she was living as their male ragdoll was bullying her. And they still had one of the kittens and he was still suckling, on top of that she's probably been calling, so its no surprise that she's looking rather thin. But that will soon be rectified. :D
  8. I just stumbled on this ad, it breaks my heart. If I had the room I'd go get her, do her vet work and rehome her but I'm all full up. Can anyone else help her before a BYB gets their hands on her. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/cranbourne-north/cats-kittens/blue-point-ragdoll/1018608736#
  9. Oh I do Kirsten, but she's a terror with my cats unfortunately, so its just not fair on them. The decision has been coming for a while, I tried and tried to make it work but it wasn't to be. I've accepted that their personalities just don't match, so in order for everyone to be happy, she needs to have her own home where she's the queen of the castle. She's got a very strong, confident personality. She turns to mush whenever she sees my dog though. I'm absolutely convinced she's lived with a dog in the past. So the perfect scenario for her would be someone who has a dog already and has been thinking of adding a cat to the family. I know the perfect home is out there, we just need to find it. If you hear of anyone who might be interested, feel free to pass on the details.
  10. http://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/229562 This is the cat that I found on the side of the road, after being hit by a car. I've had her for quite a few months now and she has healed and is a healthy, vibrant, fun-loving cat-dog. She absolutely loves my dog, but doesn't get on with my cats. So she's now looking for a very special home. Destiny is located in Melbourne, we won't be rehoming her interstate. So if you know of anyone with a dog that would love its very own cat, help me spread the word. She really is a very deserving girl.
  11. Our sheltie has done this since the day we got her as a pup. I didn't necessarily think it meant there was anything wrong. Having said that she has luxating patella too, and maybe thats the reason.
  12. Oh Nek, you don't know how tempted I am to come to your gathering of crazy dogs day and bring my sheltie, she's definitely a mental case at home but I suspect being surrounded by all those dogs she'd hide behind her my legs all day. She's has a bad case of little dog syndrome, she barks like a hero when the dog is 20 feet away and when they come close, she hides like the wimp she really is.
  13. I'm in Victoria and found an injured cat who'd been hit by a car. She was in excrutiating pain and I couldn't just leave her there. I door knocked and got no responses, but it was 7am. I ended up bringing her home and taking her to a vet as soon as they opened. She was found to be not desexed, not microchipped, so technically a stray, so they called the council. She ended up at Victoria's biggest pound who I hounded every single day. I put my name on her and eventually I ended up adopting her. I think "legally" thats the proper protocol to follow. However, if I'd just bought her home and sought vet treatment, kept her indoors, how would anyone know I had her? In this case because you are not in a position to keep them and don't want to, just call the council and RSPCA and they will trap them. As others have said, PTS is not worse than living a life on the street, without regular meals and love.
  14. Onwards and upwards Jelly, we're all behind you and Roo... please do your best to ignore the idiots in this world. :D
  15. I'm sending lots of positive vibes Jelly, you're an amazing person, you've gone above and beyond for your beautiful dog, to me thats an admirable quality. Good luck on Saturday.
  16. I really feel for the child in that situation, I have a 7yo son and he would demand to come into the room if he was in the same position. I don't think I would allow that and would probably organise someone to watch him. I find it sad that they thought it was ok to just leave her out there by herself. You did the right thing by talking to her. Its not an easy thing to go through at any age, I can remember being a kid when Mum took our old corgie into the vet. I don't remember being told he was being PTS, although I probably was. What I do remember though is being left in the car with my brother, while Mum took the dog in. She only returned with a lead and we were heart-broken. As a child its hard to understand things like that.
  17. This is a horrible to thing to be going through and poor Buddy, I feel so sad for him, no living being should be treated in that manner. What an absolute disgrace. I've never taken my dog to a groomer, but if I were going to, I'd sit there and wait and watch. I'm so sorry for your loss Caz, this is everyone's worst nightmare. RIP Buddy, you were sooo loved. xo
  18. Miss Emma sounds like a wonderful dog.. I'm sorry you didn't get more time.. but as you say quality is always better than quantity. Hugs xo
  19. Do you have a pic you can share? I'd love to see a lilac.. I've seen pics of the chocs and they are divine too.
  20. Don't worry its just research, I'm not getting anymore pets, my plate is full enough with the ones I have already. But I do love researching, nothing wrong with adding a breed to the "one day" list.. LOL
  21. Its not the first time we've met the dog and the owner is standing just out of the pic. This dog just loves my son, and the feeling is mutual. I asked Bailey if he'd like a dog like Ernie and he said yes, but he only wants Ernie and wants to buy him for $10.
  22. Still thinking about the breed, I love the look of them in a full coat. I imagine it would be a lot of work to maintain though.
  23. Its got me seriously researching the breed, what an amazing dog. I'm told it took him about 7 years to grow out of being a puppy though.. He's still very silly, but so lovable.
