  1. More lovely doggie stories. Keep em coming! Thanks CW EW, I think they are and just amaze me more and more every day! Yes this helps, very similar to how I feel. I have just had the confirmatin from my blood tests that it is definatley whooping cough. I am like you with the meds, they have done nothing, well it feels like nothing. I am onto day 13 now so hopefully the coughing will ease off over the next couple of days. They said it can take 3 months to feel fully well and no coughing, ah what joy to look forward too!
  2. Thought I would pop in here and have a little whinge, I am still out of action although I did venture up the street today to do a few unavoidable jobs. I seen you Jj and Mrs Jj, I was going to pop over and say hello but you were just backing out of the car park, probly just as well because I am so hard to understand my voice is so horse it is hardly there! So after my little outing I am now exhausted and feel like I need to sleep for a week. God help me when i go back to work. Just now waiting for the sister to ring me with my test results. At this point not going back to work till monday, I better be better enough by then to go as I am out of sick days! Hows the puppies doing? CB, how are you I seen on facebook you are sick too, no doubt run down from puppy sitting with no sleep and all the stress has contributed! I initially thought I had tonsilitis but the Dr didn't think so. Hows everyone else? Jess you have been quiet for a while and tenties what are you up too? Anyone else about? edited to add, just had the test results confirmed that I do have whooping cough...
  3. Has anyone else tried the light? Two of mine are on the light and two on the regular, the thing is my girl who needs to be on the regular is jacking up and thinks she likes the light better? I would have thought it all tasted the same and only the fat content would be different, therefore making the regular more appealing? On the topic of cats eating do food, I have heard on a number of occasions it can be very bad for them. I make it a habit of the cats not having any access to the dog food at all just to be on the safe side.
  4. I have loved hearing your stories of the joy and comfort we get from Dogs, to me they are almost like a magical creature. I could go on all day about them. I know here on DOL there is so many people that hold their dogs in the highest regard and I absolutley love that. People really get where your coming from when you gush about how awesome your dogs are! Ridgie Lover, how long did it take you to get over the WC?
  5. Hey JJ, did you get a chance to play with the video?
  6. Long story short as I want this thread to be about the awesomeness of dogs. I have been really sick since the 9th July and been in bed most of the time, last Friday was my birthday and I had a big week planned which went to crap due to being sick, wrongly diagnosed to begin with and got a lot sicker I went back to the doctor who feels sure I have whooping cough (blood test today to find out for sure) so now on two lots of ABs a new inhaler and prednisone (sp) so should start to feel better soon. What I really wanted to say is from the time I have been sick, my dogs (all 4 of them) have not left my side, they just lay around with me and are quite happy to just be with me. Put up with my incessant coughing that would drive the most patient person insane. They love their excersise, they love to run but it seems like they haven't missed it a bit and are just happy to be with me. I don't know what I would do without them! Even when I let them out for a pit stop, they make me laugh as they run strait back in when they are done and back onto the bed to assume the position of closely montiorig me It is really amazing how much comfort we draw from these little furry creatures that love us unconditionally. Please add your stories of the comfort you get from your fur kids.
  7. Kirty, did you find all the lumps all at once? I do worry about Coops being under his arm incase it hinders his walk/run, he loves to run. The vet says they don't hurt but how do they really know?
  8. I only just started a thread about my boy CJ the other week with exactly the same thing. Here if you wanna have a read. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/222662-its-probably-nothing/page__p__5375153__fromsearch__1#entry5375153 Fingers crossed these lumps don't get to much bigger!
  9. Thanks guys, love Mags sunning herself in the winter sun! RV, love Zora!
  10. So cute, love it! Gorgeous puppy Vickie.
  11. No worries, you can't go wrong really, use the mem card like you would a camera card to download your videos to your pc. and keep in mind shorter is better for uploading purposes. good luck.
  12. whoops meant to add, I think Repti life is going to go far!!
  13. On No not Ringo, he was a beautiful boy! I just wondered what the model was to see if it had inbuilt memory or card, I see it has no inbuilt memory, are you just using an sd card to capture the video? I have a sony too and mine has a built in hard drive. I don't use mine much but they do come in handy occasioanlly. Great for sharing the kids with family!! The easiest way to upload to you tube is to capture the video you want to use, A good trick is to keep the videos fairly short as they take a long time to upload depending on your connection. Save the captured file to your pc, keep a folder with the small movies in it so they are easy to find, then just go to you tube sign up for an account if you don't already have one. (its free) then just hit the upload button and follow the prompts, there is a few fields you have to fill in but once these are done just click upload and bobs your uncle, you can choose security so the vids are not public to anyone, I had a bit of trouble with this and as mine are mostly dogs I don't bother and mine are public to everyone. If you want more security have a bit of a read I'm sure there is a way to be able to have some people see it and others not, but like facebook. Good luck let me know if you get it to work. If you want to put video on facebook that you have put on you tube, all I do is upload it to you tube then copy and paste the link to that particular video to facebook.
  14. Jj can you tell me the make and model? Poor Donna, was it Hunter? RIngo? I can imagine she would be devestated, I spoke to her at one point about one of her boys she said she was having troube with and she was right onto it. God I feel for her, it would be an aweful decision to make. Great Tarni is a good mum, love the photos, Also have checked out your Repti life page, it looks great!
  15. Well I finally have a tentatvie diagnosis (most of you would have seen already on facebook) the doctor thinks I have whooping cough. Rj, had me diagnosed with this a week ago, think she missed her calling she should have been a doctor! Im off to the hospital now to have a blood test to find out either way. Then back home to my bed, which yes I am sooooo sick of, never thought I would say that! The doc reckons once I have the right AB's in me (started them last night) I should be right to go back to work on friday! Chatta, I agree with JJ about the enclosure, however in its place it is excellent. I take my lot down there occasionally but if anyone else wants to join us and my dogs don't know theres, I usually decline or leave but the cage etiquite is if you are there first then the other patry has to ask if it is ok to join in and if you say no they have to wait. We do prefer ALbert park mainly becasue my lot love to run and have lots of room. We definatley can't help you out with a play mate/date as such as my lot are very well socialized but not big players and are better off running with other dogs ather than actually playing with them. We have also found at the enclosure that the dogs that are already in the enclose generally claim the space so if other dogs are coming in this can be a recipie for disaster. We have found this even with dogs we are familiar with. Anyway must be off to the hospital now. Jj and CB how are the puppies going, any more pics!
  16. Marlo in those boots, that's just fabulous!! CM, must ge the time of the year, I've been layed up for nearly two weeks, just found out today the Dr thinks I've got whooping cough, so that explains a lot! Love your shots especially lotus in the hat and Chester with the white background, just fantastic. Everyones shots are awesome, I don't even know if I have any shots with Bronson in them for the last 2 weeks, I'll have to have a look when I'm better. Keep up the excellent work everyone!!
  17. I'd only be guessing, I'd say the flu, a tummy bug and asthma, the doctor last week was not much help and the ABs have not worked so hoping to get some more answers today!!
  18. That would be a great job for someone wanting a bit of freedom, I agree to probably wouldn't be too taxing and pretty cruizy! Well I'm back in bed again, feeling like a bus has ploughed me down back to the dr tomorrow!
  19. Thanks for the birthday wishes, had to go out but back home again and on the couch, just can't shake this dam thing! Did manage to get the dogs a quick run at Harris street, they went flat out the whole time!
  20. Love Lobo. Good job Lottie!
  21. Bloody Hell, I can see what you would have had a fit, funny how rumors get around! What is stranger is the guy at work who is keen on getting a snake and keen for your shop to open, just said to me the other day. We really need a newsagents at Centro. how bloody coincidental is that! He will ge pleased. RJ and RJ junior came around today and bought me a lovely lunch, the plan was to go out but still not well enough to leave the house so it was great. My friend arrived tonight which was also great and of course I couldn't wait till tomorrow to open my present. She got me a lovely heated blanket, it is awesome. A 1.5 kilo bag of Hershey's chocolate, Socks, hard drive covers, among some other bits and pieces, she spoilt me rotten, not to mention the massive haul of other stuff she bought with her. Two casseroles, 3 dozen eggs, 15 of the biggest muffins I've ever seen in my life. A lovely sultana slice, a massive tin of nuts, cashews for Sean, About 12 blocks of different cheeses, and for the dogs, 4 kilos of chicken necks, a toy each and the biggest bag of schmakos she could find!! not to mention she also bought with her 6 x 20 kilo bags of dog food for me RJ and another friend who is using the black hawk as well. Seriously this friend is an absolute legend!! Well I think I've raved on enough for now I better get sow sleep and dream about feeling better tomorrow!! :D

    Crate Training

Possibly just due to new environment, getting used to things, you may have set your alarm to take her out to wee at intervals as she may only cry after she has been. One of mine never made a peep when she needed to go, when she got older we taught her to ring a bell to let us know she wanted to go out, she still uses it now 4 years later. Just curious, Compared to your pup, how big is the crate.
