Sounds like a simialr scenario we had with our old dog, turned out he was allergic to fleas in a big way and basically when he got a flea bite had a bad reaction, even treated for the fleas with whatever treatment the fleas still bite. The vet put him on a course of Prednisone (sp) and anti biotics at one point because of hair loss and after that course it seemed to knock it on the head. He put on a trememdous amount of weight with the meds but we got that off again. After that initial treatment we had to keep on top of the flea treatment before it ran out and also used flea powder to deter fleas as well. Hope you can get to the bottom of it, so frustrating when you see them like that and feel hlepless and at a loss for what to do. Can you take him to a different vet for a second opinion, or lik the others said a dermatologist?

Snap PF but you spelt it right!!

One of my girls had a problem with Ananl glads and needed more fibre, the vet suggested Metamucil mixed in with her food, I wasn't keen on this idea so just used the main ingredient in the metamucil which is physillium husks. Got it from the health food shop. She doesn't need to have it all the time but if I feel she needs it I can make her some food and pop it in. She hasnt had any trouble with her glands now for about 2 years so it definatley worked for us.

Thanks Helen, It's funny usually peole can't tell them apart till they have known them a while but they are all very distinctivley different. The one in the second shot is Tully she is actually white while the other 3 are all a goldy tan color. Cooper is the biggest he is about 5 kilos heavier than the 3 younger ones. This pic shows the distinct difference between them. Cooper, Tully, Bronson, Lacy. I think the boys are real boyish looking (boof heads) and the girls are very girly, althought Tully is a tom boy through and through!! Sorry for going OT!!

Nice shot, she looks nice and focused on the job at hand. Luke has a thread on Barkley in the photo section and he posted a great shot of him jumping, ears flying and tounge hanging out. Love to see doggies having fun in the work they do!!

Hows the new camera going huga? Can't wait to see some shots, or have you posted some and I've missed them?? Its hard being in a small town when you go camera shopping not much to choose from, I usually have to deal with Harvey Norman but one of the guys there is the son of a guy I work with and he is great, always gives me good discount and everytime I walk in the place he is showing me the newest Nikon stuff, they have the D300 and the D700 in the store and I occasionally make him get it out of the cabinet so I can have a play with it he always tries to talk me in to buying it but I keep saying yea one day! :D and I will, it may not happen over night but it will happen

Well what a stinking day! Jess I'm not game to ask how you went to day after the weather was so crap yesterday, was hoping for better today! I went to obedience this morning and was hoping no one would turn up so we could go home but noooo we werent the only crazy ones out in the weather, talk about dedication!! So after that we didn't even venture out of the house. I came home gave Lacy a bath (she was cold and dirty from training) and then watched dvds all arvo bt of a luxury for me as it is something I rarely do even in winter but for some reason today it just seemed fitting! And the dogs didn't care most of the arvo I had 2 or 3 of them cuddled up on the lounge chair with me. It was great!!

You can't go wrong with Wahl, I have the km ss Wahl clippers with the SS guide combs. They were around $300. You could probly get them a little cheaper if you shopped around. Clipper world in Melb is very good to deal with. Have a look at thier web site. Also if you ring them they can advise you on what is best for your dog.

Tenties, how you doing? Haven't seen you post for a couple of days , thinking of you! Your right my guys do love the camera! Little posers....! Tez, I hope the weather is better for tomorow, I have to get to training a bit earlier as I have to do a one on one lesson with a guy with a new Stafford pup before he can join in with classes. Just to do temp assessment and make sure all is good. I told hi if the weather is to crap don't bother coming Wonder if Gus will get much bigger, Did Shan send you the paper work for Delta? Did you realize you will be able to have Gus assessed at the next assesment day which should be in about 4 months. How did you go today? bit soggy underfoot? we will keep an eye out for you tomorow, we might come down for a look!

One of my girls went through a period when she was younger of throwing up after dinner. I found with her she would eat then go right back to what she was doing previous to dinner and that was playing with the other dogs. Once I figured out she needed a little while for her food to go down it was all good. So after dinner she had to have quiet time for at least half an hour and no more throwing up. Perhaps this is the same with your little guy? If not I agree with PF a vets visit might be in order just to make sure he is ok. Is he toileting ok?

Thanks Gayle, I had a squiz at the web site, I think I'll email them to see if we can get delivery here, I'm a bit reluctant to to swap again just yet as we see just in the transition from EP to Nutro. Do your guys have it as a complete diet? Or do they still have bones etc?
-
Oh they look like a cute bunch, can you get the picture any bigger?
-
I've never heard of this food. What it like price wise and can it be fed as a complete diet? I'm in the middle of swapping my guys from EP to Nutro. Mine also have RMB and chicken bits.
