I think theres also compounding problems associated with all this with adds like this appearing on simple trade etc, APBT's that aparently come with Victorian Canine Association (amstaff) pedigrees. Paper hanged I think the term is.

Heres a great site about canetoads for those who may now be needing info on them. http://www.canetoadsinoz.com/index.html you have to be careful in not mistaking them with some native frogs when they are young baby toads, so know what they look like before you start dosing them with chemicals or freezing them etc, when they are grown big they are easy to identify though.

It means they would be prohibited from the GCCC area, ( they are waiting for the state governments responce to the court ruling now) APBT's are pohibited on the GC, not just restricted with high rego, muzzels etc. Only those dogs registered with council before some date a few years ago are allowed to reside on the GC with restrictions. So if the state finds the court ruling is correct then ASTs will be prohiited too except those that were allready registered, but they wil now be restricted. Thats why the council has ceased new registrations waiting for the states opnion on the ruling. They could just list them in the local laws though, I think they were just waiting for an excuse to do so, not that they needed any excuses.

They'd want to get onto it fast, and pull out no stops on all control measurs if they are able to breed and survive so far south. The best thing you can do if you can is train the dog to 'leave it alone' and ignore them.

My guess is they will just write the AST into the subrdinate local laws anyway to control them if the state says the are not the same.

I don't use anything for fleas, don't seem to have any, only the odd hitchiker maybe. A Permoxin rinse is done every 2 weeks or so, so that might have something to do with it. And a tick collar for ticks as well as an eyeball check over.

Ok so you can see how it started just with star pickets and dog mesh rolled out and cliped on with cable ties, this makes a great temp fence as you just cut th ties off remove the pickets and wire when you have finished ith it.

I'll go take a photo of mine, it was temporary now turning into permanant ;) , It was star pickets and dog mesh tied on with superstrong cable ties, now it's turning into a post and rail fence ever so slowly lol. Just been replacing the pickets with logs then stapleing the mesh on that.

I agree swissgirl, Id like to see an Aussie one done.
