  1. I took her in as soon as my dad told me she hit her head, because she'd cut her eyebrow open. They press tested for breaks and that was it. I've mentioned to them that the aggression started that day, in their very waiting room, but they went concerned until she started attacking our other dog. But no other testing was done on her head, just thyroid, addisons and urinary tests done. I het the feeling the surgurey I'm using isn't keeping up to date with the vet world, I got odd looks asking about titre testing awhile ago.
  2. They checked her thyroid, but i'll get new bloods done someplace else. I stick with this vet because they let me pay my bills off over time, but maybe it's time to change. I asked if they'd sent blood overseas and was told they won't do it.
  3. Thanks for your PM, will look into making that call when I get paid. Will also look at getting a second opinion from another vet clinic, the one i use now still aren't taking the blow to her head very seriously.
  4. I didn't think she'd learn anything, i'm just at my wits end.
  5. My vet reccomended obedience, none of the vets at the practice are able to reccomend anyone
  6. All her tests have come back negative. And her health has really improved. However her aggression is getting worse. It's like a switch goes off in her head and she turns nasty, then just as suddenly she's ok again. But our other dog is starting to really fight back. At the moment she's getting a time out in the toilet ( very boring) and that seemed to be working. But now she's stared attacking him while we're having dinner so I guess I have to separate her from that too. She's been sent to bed without her dinner tonight because of had behaviour. I have no idea if I'm handling this the right way. I just miss my baby girl.
  7. I guess it's the next thing to look at if her thyroid comes back clear. She always looks so horrified after she's been nasty.
  8. Bumping. Her aggression is seriously looking like it's jealousy driven. She's just gone at my cat who she's always loved. He was smooching on my bed and she came into my room and saw him and lunged. How can I get her to realise she's not top dog? She's fed after all of us, I'm trying to get my father (who's most uncooporative) to keep her off the couch and to stop feeding her every time he sits down with food.
  9. *cries* She looked so sad and hurt when I left her at the vet again, and some moron on another forum has said I'm wrong for feeding my animals a raw diet because 'dogs shouldn't eat just meat'. Wank, raw can include veggies also. He cited the RSPCA as evidence. Enough said.
  10. Brain injury can cause all sorts of changes That terrifies me, she hit it literally head on, cut her eyebrow fairly deep. And that was the first day she ever showed aggression.
  11. Back to the vet tomorrow . She's looking really skinny now, her hips and ribs are so obvious but she's still eating 2 full meals a day
  12. Will go out and see the Vet again tomorrow. Could a behaviour change like this be caused by a blow to the head? Such as running head first into our trailer at full Fetch speed?
  13. She's about a year and a half and is a border collie X Staff
  14. Thanks you guys Erny, my Vet said there was some thyroid issues she could test for. She's also suggested trying the feliway pheromone unit as a way to calm the house down. Right now I'm willing to do whatever it takes.
  15. I'm hoping you decided to stop sitting around waiting for Dol and took the poor baby to the vet!
  16. The aggression has started again. How do I not let it affect my depression?
  17. My dogs ganged up on our E-collar! Daisy was wearing it after her desexing and while I was having a shower they chewed all the clip/flap things off and set her free!
  18. Got the results back, not Addison's. They want to test for some more things though. It's just getting tough financially to keep testing. She's changed heaps in the way she's been lately, but it's because I've been making her rest most of the day so I don't know.
  19. My cats have all learnt to jump the baby gate that leads into our bathroom.
  20. Can a dog catch conjunctivitis from the vets office? She's got very red eyes and there's a lot of yellow goop. Or is it common with addison's? Poor baby really is feeling bad
  21. We've had a huge change in her behaviour over the last two days. I'm making her rest and sleep for most of the day and she's being her old self with our other dog again, until she gets tired again. She's so frustrated about all this resting though.
  22. Just left her at the vet. She didn't want to stay! The poor nurse had to carry her out the back. Daisy also had a go at the vet greyhound. She's lost almost a kilo in 2 days. They gave me info on Cushing's disease which is the opposite of Addison's? Either way I'm very scared
  23. I can't sleep. Having panic attacks about tomorrow. She's giving in to being sick. It's like now that we know she's sick she can stop pretending that she's ok. She was a lot less nasty to our our dog today, but slept in her crate most of the day and didn't want to go outside to play with her ball. She's also panting more and drinking more tonight. She's still got an appetite though.
  24. There was a tiny bit in our fence that we couldn't quite cover with the weedmat, a couple of days of putting pepper there soon stopped any nosy dogs causing trouble!
