  1. Just like to add, before I started researching dogs, I was of the opinion the APBTs, Rottweilers etc are evil dogs and will kill you if they get the chance, they go for your neck and have a lock-jaw that locks on till you die, even if they want to open their mouths, they cannot, because the dog needs to calm down and release a muscle relaxant hormone. However, once I got out and about and started meeting these dogs, my perception changed. To this day, the most placid/friendliest dog I have met is an outlawed APBT. I think what you mention is very important, educating the public.
  2. I voted no. The APBT is a beautiful breed. Ban stupid owners, maybe establish a trainer/handler license requirement for the ownership of all dogs that are the target of BSL.
  3. Lack of education. People don't know that Pet shops can often be wrong and cruel, it isn't there fault (granted common sense would go a long way...) Too much $$$$ in pet shops for the Government to really care. As they say, money makes the world go round.
  4. Thanks for the input. I have some Lucas Paw Paw ointment but that wont be enough. He has a kennel with soft bedding, which is where he sleeps, but when he is just kicking back, he tends to be sitting on concrete and as I said before he drops to the ground very hard.
  5. Hi Guys, Recently I had a friends female Rottweiler over and noticed that when she drops she does so in a very gentle like (feminine even!) manner. My dog, he litearlly hits the deck hard (and being 50kg plus) I imagine this can't be too good for him. I thought this was normal, turns out hes just an idiot. His elbows are very dry and sometimes get infected....what can I do about this? For some reason he prefers sitting on concrete as opposed to grass. Is it just one of those things where I can't do much? Thanks!
