  1. I've used them on and off for years too and never had any issues :)
  2. We always had cattle x's growing up on acerage, so once we moved in to suburbia I was desperate for my own dog. Our neighbour, who we were very friendly with, had a lab x goldie that she used to let me walk as she didn't have as much time. That sealed it and I started looking at labs and goldies. I clicked with Harvey after looking at 3-4 litters and that was it. Then bailey came along 2 years later as I was beginning to research breeds, a new local breeder came up and she invited us out just to talk about the breed and what to look for etc and we fell in love with Bailey. She was originally going to keep him to run on, but decided that it wasn't practical for them at the time, so he ended up coming home with us a week later!
  3. Noooo, you can't change it Leah. It still makes me laugh My Shih Tzu's name is Daisy, it was taken, so I chose Crazy Daisy. It's what we call her on a daily basis. I agree, you have to keep it! it cracks me up every time i see you post. Why can't I make suggestions??? I seem to remember it was one FTPO who influenced this change lol...nothing at all to do with me I just laughed And yes, that wotwot is here to stay lmao If FTPO aided in producing this one, I can only imagine what influence you would have GG85 . Looks like it is to stay for now, I have no imagination atm!
  4. I can change mine finally today too, so am open to suggestions. As long as they are not from GG85 :p
  5. I was on the phone to FTPO who was telling me that I suck after doing something stupid (may have been falling off a treadmill, or stapling my finger, can't remember). But I told her I was a legend, and everybody says so. The only way I could back up my claim was to name myself Leah the Legend . I was also a little *cough LOT* under the influence, which I may also be now :S. DAMn miller chills!
  6. My little pack (I think we need one more, but the mother is not so keen!) and 'the boys' and giraffe (RIP)
  7. Bailey vs new pillow (he thinks he is pretty funny )
  8. I have had the same issues with Baileys breeder. I used to send an update on how he was going/what milestones we achieved about every 6-12months, but never ever heard back. I soon gave up and started posting them in the breed thread instead!
  9. I love the look of greater swiss mountain dogs EFS
  10. oops sorry I just got this, and have missed it! 3Oth would be better for me too
  11. I can make the 30th. I'd personally prefer Jam over the espresso train, but am flexible. I'm training it from the sunshine coast so am happy to meet/travel with people along the way too
  12. I've got both a goldie and a lab. I think it also depends on the environment and nature of the dog, but have found a few differences here personally: Harvey (lab) a bit more independant, happy to cuddle but also happy to go off and have a wander. Very responsive to training, quick to learn and needs a bit more stimulation during the week then Bailey. He is a mummy's boy and sensative/responsive to me, but will challenge my mum/others. Bailey is softer, absolutely adores just being petted and petted and petted! He is a little bit slower in training as he just thinks if he looks pretty, cuddles will follow . He does respond to anyone who tells him off though. completely ball/toy/something in mouth obsessed and can be a little bit dominant in regards to this. I love both my boys, however in future I would probably get another lab over goldie as I do find Bailey a bit 'clingy' sometimes. Harvey is hapy to be in your company, whereas Bailey needs/wants to be constantly touched.
  13. I think Action Balls are very similair. Harvey has one and adores it! They are available online at vetproductsdirect.com.au. They only have two ropes on either side though.
  14. I've got a male lab and male goldie. Harvey the lab is more 'focused', happy for a cuddle, but would prefer to 'do' stuff with you (Walking, gardening etc). He greets everyone for a pat and is then happy to wander off and chew on a toy. Bailey is much more devoted to me and a big smoocher (read velcro dog!). He is very attentive to people. but he is also a bit goof, a bit slower at training, and will loose all focus if he see's a duck!
  15. Naww soo cute. I'll take Polly and Lacey please
  16. hey guys, sorry it took so long to reply. My computers at the shop with a hardware crash and now can't be reloaded until we find all the disks or they are orderes so I have finally made it to my sisters place. Molly is doing very well. The trail inside didn't work as she is quite smelly and was seeping at the time, However she did settle on the verandah. She has improved greatly! Her stomache has cleared completely and her hair is growing back. I have changed her food to Vets All Natural, which is an organic dry food. She loves it to which is good. She also back on cooked mince and necks. Also on advantix and penny royal oil. Vet has said to continue with neocort cream and antibiotics, with another revisit in 10 days (tues) and we will discuss and explore more options. Just wanted to get it under control and Molly more comfortable. I have discussed Molly's situation with the family and we have come to the conclusion where she will have to rehomed to somewhere she can be inside aswell as continuing her flea care. Somewhere where the flea problem isn't as high as here. Its definately under the house that is the problem and its the only place I have for them thats away from the rain. The front verandah is not really a long term solution and its not fair on her being so confined. She does try and break out (and has suceededa few times too) when I am not home which also makes me worry about her well fair. Please don't flame me for this as its been a very long and hard decision to make and I'm quiet emotional about it as she is my baby girl and I have bonded very much to her. Tears spring up everytime I think of her not with us but its not fair on her to live confined and unhappy. I am giving her away to a special home and will list all of her needs so she does find the home she needs and deserves.
  17. Thank you everyone for your replies, I have taken many notes and the information you have given me is very much appreciated. I have tried to reply several times today but my comp keeps cutting out so excuse this short msg. I will try to attatch a photo but will add msg first. I have noted down a few things to discuss with the vet like antihistomines, a longer dose of antibiotics, pyhohex, oatmeal and pep oil, condees crystals and diet arrangements. Winterpaws I would appreciate that file very much. My email addy is leahs1986 at homtail dot com. Also wanted to add, that sorry Molly does get sardines in oil, once to twice a week. I jus buy the cheapo brand as wasn't sure it made a difference is that ok??? Also Lilly is fleas treated aswell. She has a monthly spot on treatment, by advocate. Trying to eliminate as many of the little buggers as I can!!!! Thanks again everyone and I will check back after vet visit, computer willing!!! Also forgot to add that I have convinced mum to let Molly inside atleast until she has been to the vets. So at the moment she is in the spare room, on her satin sheet. See pic below. and I have also blocked off the stairs on the front verandah so she has full access to that. I have placed her bed out there and her food aswell. The cat and her arn't actuallu going to bad, she usually barks and chased her, but has been absolutely fine thank god. Just curious but not over the top or aggressive. Sniff here and there. She has also been great with the bird on the verandah, not interested at all actually. Its all starting o work out which is great. thank you
  18. Thank you for your response Rappie. 1. The antibiotics were for 10 days, she has fnished them now. (mon) and looked much better until wednesday where she started to flare up a little on her stomach, to sores again and major redness etc on her stomach yesterday. I am going to take her to the vets again on mon. Appt ready ade to make sure she was ok after antibiotics. The antibiotics were Noroclav 250mg given morning and night for 10 days. Aswell as Ilium Neocort cream applied 2-3 times daily. 2.The shot, I can't remember what it was, but couldn't be given at the same time as her booster vaccs if that helps? I can ask again on Mon. 3.Lilly the cat is an inside/outside cat. However mum has said a firm no to Molly being inside. (I am working on it!) There are dogs in all ajoining houses, aswell as cats and I also have birds, but they don't come in contact with them. Also have a problem with letting Molly out for toilet breaks etc during the day when we arn't home. 4. Harvey is on sentinel aswell as frontline monthly, just not fortnightly. 5. The dogs usually eat cooked chicken mince and raw necks aswell as dry food. They are eating pedigree pal at the moment as money is a little tight. However the past week she has been eating a cooked dog roll. I hate the stuff and don't usually give it too them but chicken mince is becomming hard to find here. I have 10kgs of necks ready to pick up on Monday though. I wasn't sure if the food could cause a problem, but have since read up on food allergy while looking under fad. So we are buying a freezer asap and then can order chicken mince in bulk from a shop about 45mins drive away. (I don't drive atm so buying in bulk makes it easier) Shampoo I am using a medicated aloe vera and charcoal? one from the vet. Its in a blue and black bottle. Its in the bathroom atm where my bro is taking a shower so can't read it. I haven't used conditioner. Any product I put on her seems to irritate her, even the frontline. I have tried spraying her with Malaban but she goes berserk and it doesn't seem to have an effect on her. I'm going to see now that my bros back if I can get her to the vets today. BRB
