  1. From personal experience it seems that small, offlead dogs are allowed to do anything they like but if the larger, onlead, heeling dog reacts by barking louder and deeper, then the big dog is described as "Gee she's aggressive!" I suspect that plankwoman has had difficulty walking her dogs before and has no idea that her dogs are the cause of the problem.
  2. Thank you everyone for the illustrations. It's given me lots to reflect on. Doing basic obedience classes, the only "drive" I heard about had something to do with where you parked your car.
  3. Thanks Angelsophie and Nadz. Here's hoping for less stressful nail control.
  4. I have had PP insurance for two years with no problem (or claims - thankfully). The renewal is coming up this month and it would be reassuring to know that they have got their act together 'cos I pay for peace of mind.
  5. Our GSD is so keen I reckon that she would track in a straight jacket! Having said that, we actually used a "style 2" for the 2 trials she has completed so far - with no problems with the harness.
  6. I Know of someone who swears that singing Brahm's lullaby helped cure her carsick puppy. The dog travels really well now - and the driver is a lot calmer too.
  7. I buy chicken livers (from the chicken shop) and find they are easy to handle and dry - 1 kg is about the right amount for 2 oven trays.
  8. Thank you so much for starting this thread - and for the replies. Has anyone been able to source the Johnson book in Australia? Hi to Syrinx! I think we were tracking buddies at Shep in April (GSD)
  9. I wonder if Lilly got a chance to lick at the stuff - I don't think it's meant to be "eaten".
  10. Having been in a somewhat similar situation myself, I would like to read what the experts have to write about this. In our case, it was so stressful that we stopped going to classes.
