  1. Imogen (My OH's god daughter) celebrated her first birthday today. Here is the cake so loving prepared by her proud mother
  2. Ashli - great water droplet shots Wolfsong - beautiful sunset photo and lighting tlc - those out takes are awesome... love the main ones... the look in the eye of "u going to throw it or what?" Weibritty - meerkat looking straight at you, good work! bec - the eyes could melt ice anniek - doubt they would have stayed here long enough to photo nom nom nom indeed RJ - the hot rod shot is great lic - your little man is so cute FP - love the stalker Shell - beautiful SP Thanks for the comments on my Peloton shot - yes I had to move out of the way as they would have only just missed me, and with the camera on me, I didn't want to cause a 50 cyclist pile up! Here is todays shot.... despite playing tennis and going to watch the BigBash Twenty20 final, the camera stayed at home and I tried a new technique.... low down shots... camera on the ground pointing up at the subject, press the shutter and hope! Realized I also dont have any shots of Thomas in my 365 Project yet... so here is our little man! (Although he needs a groom urgently!)
  3. Am loving the Viking shot. Bec - fantastic shot as always FP - really good shot of Luca Ness - I get the same look from our 2! OK intro to my shot today 6 hours in the Adelaide Hills following the Mutual Community Stage 4 of the Santos Tour Down under. Mostly snapping the "Ameteur and Commuter riders" for Santos and the http://peloton.santos.com website. I ended up with over 3,400 photos from the day, should be interesting going through them all, but I am impressed that the Sigma 70-200 2.8 and the D80 with 2 batteries linked to Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2 was able to keep up... there were a few soft photos and a few out of focus when there were several riders in the shot..... but here is the best one of the main Peloton heading straight at me! There were no barriers and I was on the curve of the corner they were taking at about 60km/h
  4. Here is mine for tonight I was given the opportunity to shoot a fashion parade at a local club this evening... several shots to go through, but here is a quick example of one of my shots from tonight. It was a steep learning curve and something I haven't done before, so a big lesson!
  5. Will get through everyone's photos tomorrow and write a little bit. It's not about the bike - the autobiography by Lance Armstrong... yet somehow today was all about the bikes. The Santos Tour Down Under Village was awash with bikes being cleaned from today and preped for tomorrow! This led to a lot of shots of bikes... so the photo today is all about the bike!
  6. We used these guys for Aubrey http://www.canineinteraction.com.au/Trainingclasses.html Very good trainers who love dogs and help with any questions.
  7. It isn't too bad a deal However, you could use DWI to get the D3000 with 18-55 Kit for $800 including Mack Diamon 3 year warranty (better than Nikon's 1 year!) http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/...?idProduct=2341 Even then when you add the 55-200 with 7 year warranty, it is only slightly more expensive... so it depends if you want to pay a bit more for longer warranty. Otherwise it is a great deal. Have you considered the D5000 kit with a camera that gives you a few extra for another $150 - $200?
  8. Wow 102 pages now Keep going some awesome shots today. TN - enjoy your 50mm 1.4 FP - love the shot of your two Beeb - your Day 15 shot is just gorgeous Bec - Booze hounds are sooo cute tlc - that beach looks so inviting, i'm impressed your dogs stay as long as they do for the photos! kia - yummmm TEDs! redangel - even though it is a play bow, those teeth are scary! Flowers from me too today, these grow quite nicely on the creeper that grows around the front verandah of our house No idea what they are though!
  9. great shots everyone.... Bec - I love how he has just peaked into the shot! Nik - another inspired SP My photo from today has a little story behind it. Aubrey loves to dig through the pots and remove any plants, vegetation and dirt in them. So these have got higher and higher and had fresh seedlings in it. Aubrey left them alone for a week or so, so thought they were doing ok.... then came home last friday.... oh well... back to the drawing board! I also think it is time to learn more photoshop skills (mostly from Nik, Ness and JS playing with settings) so I tried to turn a boring old photo into something that looked old! OK - disclaimer first... I know it is only meant to be one shot a day, and these are from yesterday, but just to add salt to the wound for JS
  10. Thanks for the nice comment. Yup going to put my watermark on the photo tonight... only uploaded it yesterday to get it posted. Have got a couple of others I'll also add to my Flickr tonight, once the watermark is on Worked out how to edit the photo and keep it there Just have to do proper watermark tonight on all the other photos!
  11. Might be able to get to the one on the 31st, have 2 photoshoots either side of it though, so depends on how they go!
  12. That is Lance I have a few others of him from Sunday's race, and I doubt I'll be able to get to any more... although will be going to the village after work this week, so if he happens to be walking around!
  13. Here is my shot of the day.... The Santos Tour Down Under has a few big name cyclists this year, none more so than Lance Armstrong. The race gave me the opportunity to try some panning as well as some stop motion, and here is one of my favourites of the fans favourite
  14. Hi all, some wonderful photos again. Becandcharch - really like the girl walking through the beach view shot. JS - the cemetry shot is fantastic, and I am more than happy to come with you for a shoot one night FP - really bright flower and the bokeh really highlights it, but not sure if it is just me, but it looks a little soft? Shell - death on top of your monitor, yoda nearby... sounds like a well planned desk! ness - B&W is really good for adding a different view and works really well here Snap - love the first beach shot... the clouds look so moody! TerraNik - The silhouette with your hair is amazing. TLC - iphone.... nevermind I think that is most people I had the pleasure of doing a portrait shoot with some good friends of mine this morning who have just welcomed their second child into their world - Emma Brooke Green, born 1st Jan 2010.
  15. Snap - that is a great starting point and offers lots for some PP... have a play with it, but dont play too much, it is already a very nice shot I finally got my battery grip (why do we always wait so long to buy these things, then realize we could have done so much more earlier!) so tonight was some portrait work. My usual model is Aubrey, and tonight she didnt let me down - another one for her little portfolio
  16. OK I so want one of those Yoda's! TerraNik - great expression... hope there were no accidents! I went to the WTC tennis last night, so my photo is based around that
  17. In a bid to try and stay away from using the dogs as a "get out of jail free card" for my January and Project 365 photos I tried a bit of product imaging tonight. So that is another area of photography I can safely cross of my list of "stay away from" Poor show, but hey, I tried something..... lets see how that something will improve over the year! Mind you, the lack of inspiration of trying to get behind the camera was very evident today, 13 days in, 352 to go! It was a busy evening, yet nothing seemed to come from it. Move along, nothing to see here!
  18. Adelaide Oval for West End Draught Redbacks v Tasmanian Tigers tonight... we were guests of Aaron O'Brien so it is only fair that today's photo is of him bowling to Naved-ul-Hasan who hits it straight to Harris for O'Briens 3rd and the 6th wicket of the Tigers. Redbacks won by 23 runs and are in the BigBash Twenty20 Grand Final!
  19. Another round of great shots PC - Great shot, often so hard to get such a clear eye shot on the black hair FP - Bad Cuz is always such a favourite :0 JS - Saw your ice, immediately felt cooler Perfect shot for a hot hot hot day! Crazy Daisy - Appears you beat me to it with the ants! Huga - Great moment captured Redangel - Those eyes paint such a horrible story - love it! Shell - the lighting for the cat is purrfect (sorry, couldn't help myself!) Here is my shot, and as you can probably see and from my comment to CD - it is a shot of a colony of ants working away on one of my rose branches! Sorry.... to hot today to stay outside for long, was hoping for some lightning shots, but fear the day may run out first!
  20. Aubrey was looking cute today and the camera still had the 50 on it so I had to quietly move to get the shot
