  1. Chatters in Midland is pretty good but can't promise I'll be there I might be busy with a new addition ;) Naughty Tiggy, you already have 3 dogs ;)
  2. I will be keen Mirawee ! You, me and Valley are not to far from one another are we? Oh and Tiggy... Tiggy and I are probably the closest. I am just on the Toodyay side of Gidgegannup... so 35 mins from vCBR I actually want to try Cafe Devine on Gt Northern Hway again soon - haven't been there since they changed name. There are also some really nice places in Guildford Yes I drove past there the other day and was wondering what its like We could always go to Fast Eddys in Midland Gate :D ;)

  4. Lol, maybe we should have it out our way Mirawee ;)
  5. Yes I agree, must be somewhere where we can park ;)
  6. Amy and I were actually talking about this the other day... least I think it was Amy, could have been Candice? :D Anyway, whoever it was, we thought it would be good to do a dinner out somewhere without the pooches for a change. So, I'm in Greyhounds was ok last time, but I like the idea of the city, somewhere a little more posh ;) (but not too posh, I'm flat broke ;)) It was me Yes I am dead keen for an xmas wind up dinner minus dogs I went and ate at My Place in city but it was not that great, I would not recommend or go there again. I know Mt Lawley Hotel does lovely food but that isnt strictly the city - and I know that they are not that expensive. Edited to add that if there is somewhere nice in Burswood Casino to eat we could go there? That is just outside the city too.
  7. I am with Petplan, have been for just over a year now, my dog has terrible allergies and they have been very good, paying for all his tests, immunotherapy etc. No hassles so far. I pay $40 a month on the standard cover, my premium never went up even though I claimed around $5000 the year before. I think I have around $14000 a year as a max.
  8. What park is that Valley, I will have to come play with Mason outside your window when I want you to feel jealous
  9. its gotten very windy and a bit cold up here now... just spent ages hand-sewing my cool coat to try make it fit, i had to fold it over along the back and sew it in place.
  10. I only went to tracking training for about 7 weeks but what they did is make the person who will be hiding keep some old socks on them for about a half an hour or longer, and then you drop the article along the route you are walking. The hiding person must also keep treats on them to give the dog as a reward. We used flags on stakes in the forest so that we could tell whether the dog was on the right track or not. I am sure others who know more than me could help you better
  11. It is a lovely day, I just have a few things to do around the house and then will go do some training at the park over the road ;) I took Mason to Guildford on friday for his photo session, he had the best time!
  12. Nedlands foreshore Offlead dogs, grass, river, sand, BBQ's Oh and lots of trees! Shade ;) Link? This one sounds good too! Try this link: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=-32.00105...,172.02,,0,0.14 and this: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=-32.00098...=17&iwloc=A Oh and the council's website says the following in regards to offlead dogs: Dogs may be exercised on almost all reserves, unless they are in use for an organised sport. The exceptions are the: Swanbourne Beach Reserve; Infant Health Centre playground in Strickland St; Hollywood Tennis Courts area and surrounds; and Karella, Leura and Campsie St playgrounds. The area posted above isn't one of these exceptions, so I think we are safe to do our offlead dog BBQ there It is also a very lovely walk to do up the entire length of the foreshore. At one end is a secluded beach, and the other near the Uni, is a dog friendly outdoor cafe I really enjoyed our walk along there! I am in for the BBQ, we just have to find a date that suits most people.
  13. Valley mine fits around the front but its a bit too long at the back, I have had to make a plan with some velcro to sort of tack it up so it does not cover half his tail
  14. She's on Eukanubu puppy. At least I know we're not starving her But it is so hard to tell when she eats is so quickly and then gives you those pleading looks of starvation! How much does she weigh now?? Can you maybe post a pic so we can see if she looks ok on the amount of food she is on? All dogs are different, mine picks up weight easily on raw but kibble just goes in one end and out the other with him.
  15. I am quite keen to do the xmas BBQ at Mirawee's, that will be fun! I may also take a foal home with me Valley lol I think if we BBQ somewhere we should do it with BBQ's and in a offleash area that allows dogs, I think at Piney Lakes carrying the stuff back and forth may be a tad tedious. We could always just stick to the old faithful Riverside as its offlead and you can BBQ right there..... I think Nedlands foreshore have some BBQ's and I saw offlead dogs when I walked through, not sure if that is allowed or not though??
  16. We must have a DOL meet soon, any ideas for venues etc? AT this time of year with snakes there is not much choice... RS and I were talking though and we want to do a BBQ near the river sometime ( not Riverside somewhere different).
  17. I really enjoyed it and it gave me a lot of different ideas, I have not done much hand targeting with Mason, we did some but it was ages ago so it has made me realize that I probably need to do more of it. I am not sure that I will go back and re-teach Mason heeling because he is doing so nicely and I think it would not be fair of me to do that really, if he was not heeling properly or not heeling as I wanted then I might consider re-teaching him with those methods. I also realized that I must do more hind end awareness, I do some but not probably as much as I should do. What did you think Ptolomy? I met GR's Paddy this morning - he is so gorgeous I'm really jealous. I wish I had gone to the seminar as it would have been perfect for me who is starting out teaching my dogs heeling. i don't know how I missed it! And I am even more jealous you got to meet Paddy!!! He is too gorgeous, his little face just melts your heart I could never be cross/angry with that little face, he would get away with murder ifhe were mine Edited to add that I also met Strauss yesterday and he is also devine, very smart looking little man Valley I almost pm-ed you the details for the seminar as I know you want to try obedience and then I thought that you would have seen it on WAclick and so I never bothered!!
  18. I also just read that you can spread it by walking somewhere and the virus can be on the bottom of your shoes?? I never realized that it was that contagious which means that if I walked around royal I could have theoretically walked Parvo back into my own yard/home.
  19. I googled parvo a couple of days ago and everything I read said it is NOT airborne, it is a contact disease. I thought that to . Me 3....
  20. 21. I dont vaccinate my dog because he has allergies, if his antoibody titre came back that he has immunity to Parvo would he still be able to get it? Just a theoretical question, he wasn't at Royal - whoever that person is should get into serious trouble, a lot of dogs could get very sick.
  22. I had the same thing, OH got very bored!! When my sister and I go, we have a plan! Visit the dog pavillion, then head around the grounds and check everything out in a clockwise direction from there!!! Easy as - unless youre a man!!! Anyhoooooo, better than not going I suppose! Hey Mas, who are the ridgies in your sig??? Nice horse too - reminds me of a thoroughbred we had years ago, Nicky...Beautiful boy! The ridgies are my old girls, family pets that still live with my mum in South Africa, they were too old to do quarantine ( 7 months) and the one has cancer so they would not take her, broke my heart to leave them but I could not put them through quarantine even if they were allowed ( they are 11) the one would not eat from strangers. They have also never left my mums so they are happy there i think. Their names are Gabby and Vicky, Gabby is the most stubborn dog I have ever met and she is a right cow but she was my baby, Vicky was more my mums dog, she is very soft hearted. They are from the same litter, their mum was 3/4 ridgeback x bullmastiff and their dad was pure ridgeback. We got them as watchdogs for back in RSA and they are wonderful, even at 11 they do a wonderful job of letting mum know when strangers are near as she lives alone.
