  1. Im assuming it would just be friends and family in the back yard? If that is the case then I would as I am a dog person, some others may not thou.
  2. Im feeling that way to but I feel kinda weird asking.. what do I say???
  3. Not my usaul vet. We went in on Saturday for her annual check up and were seen by a "relief" vet. She covers annual leave and sick leave etc.. When I called for the test results I spoke to my normal Vet and he seemed to agree with relief vet. I obviousley dont know what was written in Bellas notes. She did wipe her over with a tissue to look at the color and had a look at her legs to make sure that no skin irritation was happening (it isnt yet)
  4. Thanks, im kinda flipping between the 2 to see what information I get
  5. Hi, I have a 14 month old Great Dane Girl who was speyed at 7months of age. Approximatley in the last 3 months we have noticed a small amount of milky discharge coming from her girl parts. It is a little creamier then milk and the same color as watered down choc milk. She has on occasion had a mass amount come out so it looks like she has wet her bed but generally it is more of constent wetness on her parts and down her legs. I have had a pee test done and it came back clear. No blood, no bacteria, good consentration which indicates her kidneys are working fine. The vet recommened that I give her Proplain which helps with urine incontenance. After reading the side effects I decided not to give it to her. They are: Dizziness, high blood pressure and temprement changes. I will NOT give my dog any medication that will alter her temprement in a negative way. He then said that we can try an alternate medication (didnt get the name) She is plain and simple too big to be able control if she got snappy and could do serious damage. Something just isnt sitting right with me.. My vet is fantastic and hasnt given me any reason not to trust his judgement but im unsure. I know incontenince can be an issue with speyed dogs at any age, but I am still unsure. So my question is what do I do?? I know that is a generalised question but should I trust the vet and go with the new medication? Try the Propalin and see how Bella goes? Get a second opinion? If so from where? Would really appreciate your help Gily

  20. Silly me didnt even know that this thread was different to the video one. Everyone knows their animals best and has the right to decide what they want to do for their animals in their final stages. Unfortunalty money does come into it for some people and they shouldnt be flamed for that. At least they are doing what is best and not letting the animal suffer. I personally didnt know that sedation was an option until I read this thread. I have seen 2 cats cross the rainbow bridge. One was an elderly cat (not mine) that was very unwell. (I was doing work experience at the vet), they put him in a litlle sleeping bag and gave him his needle. He did fight it abit but purred the whole time. The elderly owner couldnt handle it and left before the injection was given. I was there the whole time and did what I could to comfort the pussy cat. The 2nd was a stray cat that I adopted. She was my first pet (by 1st I mean that I had to pay everything for). I got her from the same vet that I did work experience for. I didnt know it at the time but she was a VERY VERY sick cat. Some one had shot her with a lead bullet that couldnt be removed and it was slowly killing her. When her eye sight finnaly went she walked into the heater (yes it was on) and paralised her self. I made the heart wrenching decision to give her the wings and took her to the vets and they let me cuddle her while doing it.. She didnt fight. I dont think that she had the strength to.. I think people need to know that the option is there if they need/ want it. I have enquired with my local vet and they have informed me that they do house calls should I need the option when my 2 girls leave me... Just my opinion...I probably shouldnt have replied to this thread whilst at work cause now i have blotchy eyes
  21. That is exactly the sort of info I want... Im not a breeder so i dont know exactly what goes into it... I basically want to give her pages and pages of info that may scare her away... THANK YOU... A great start
  22. Hi Guys, I know that BYB is wrong and dont approve AT ALL.. ... however a girl I play soccer with is adament that she is going to breed her Lhapso x Shitsu.. I am trying every thing in my power to stop her but she wont listen so I thought of the idea to overload her with possible things that could go wrong and the costs that may be involved... I even showed her the euthansia video and she didnt care... So what I would like from fellow Dolers is any info that I can give her.. I did abit of research on the Lhapso and I found that they sometime can have bad hips, kidney problems and eye desease... Any thing else??? I also read that Lhapso's can be quite dominent so i also suggested temp testing... She is so Naive, she didnt know the difference between a vet check and health testing She did say that she would do SOME health tests I suggested that she gets contract or desexes the pups before they go to a new home, but doubt that she will do it... She says shes not in it for the money (yeah right) let it be known that I do NOT support her.. so please dont flame me... Has anyone else had any luck convincing a stubborn person to change there ways?... Any scare tactics or other possible ways would be greatly appreciated Gily
