  1. C is our cat Corpsegrinder. Named after a singer from Cannibal corpse. Because he is SOOO cute, but if you heard his growl

:champagne: god I would love to see the look on your neghbours faces when you called him.

Hahaha. It certainly gets a response. I got some queer looks at the vets. But mainly people just tell me how cool our pets names are.

  2. Well we have an alphabet theme going on in our current pack

(eg since my bf and i got together see my signature)

So far we have 5 letters of the alphabet

    A=me

    B=Boyfriend

C is our cat Corpsegrinder. Named after a singer from Cannibal corpse. Because he is SOOO cute, but if you heard his growl

D is Didge our first husky. We were trying to come up with an Aussie sounding name and Didge stuck, because we kept thinking ridgey didge and didgeridoo

E= Esky because well you all know what an Esky is.. Also kind of sounds like Eskimo

    Other animals I've owned

Towser= named after the cartoon towser

Follow= my duck because he followed me everywhere

  3. Thanks everyone

    I guess I over reacted a little

I've taken some of the advice and started to hold her mouth shut or hold her by the scruff of her neck (whatever is easiest to grab)

    Here's hoping that works

  4. Yeah I know it's gonna be pretty tough. Unfortunately. How do you go about convincing them you would be a good tenant? Anything in particular they want to hear you say?

Money talks really. Prove to them that you have a job (pay slips) that will allow you to pay the rent. Just tell them everything about yourself that could put you in good standing.

Are you a non smoker? tell them that

Are you a keen gardener? (the only thing my landlords ever complain about is the garden. Not fair, we had no grass when we moved in. Everything was dead. )

Find a reference that isn't your parents, that will testify how clean you are.

    Etc

Don't be surprised if you find some of the application forms quite invasive. I filled out one the other day asking me about my previous jobs; how long i had been there. etc. It didn't make me look too good.. :) They really wanted to know EVERYTHING..

  5. Look on websites like domain.com.au or realestate.com.au

You can search rental properties that way. In the descriptions of the properties landlords can specify 'NO pets' 'pets negotiable' or 'pets allowed'

So the best place to start is to go for the places that allow pets.

The land lord/ real estate agent may ask you about your pet. Eg how big is your dog?

IF you don't have a pet, which you don't then give them a bit of a description of the dog you would like. Just say "I dont have any pets yet.. but I'm looking a buying a border collie. "

The land lord won't give two hoots as to whether you are a good pet owner on not. As long as their property isn't damaged. So you don't need references for that.

Since your a first time renter (assuming) and you are the same age as me; I will warn you it may be difficult to get people to consider you.

So long as you can convince them that you are a responsible person and not some feral you should be fine.

  6. The cat should be fine. He's been on a couple or road trips with us to South Australia. He's pretty comfortable with everyone

We have to move into my inlaws house for a while then our new place. So I'm sure Esky will be seeking our her crate for a bit of time out. There is already 3 dogs on the property.

    Thanks for everyones reassurance

  7. So the other night Esky, bf and I were out at the park. Esky was on a loooooooooooong leash and we were letting her enjoy herself and working on recalls at the same time.

Anyway when we had had enough and decided to go home, I thought I'd take her for one last run to the path and back to get rid of her zoomies. As i started to run, she got wound up, growled and launched at my leg teeth bared. She bit me. I didn't yelp or react. I diverted her attention to a toy. Then made her heel all the way home.

Anyway today she struck again. My boyfriend let her outside in the yard to go to the toilet. Then he noticed the gate didn't look shut. So he went up to investigate. He tells me there was hardly any warning, Esky came at him from behind bit him on the back of the leg, and proceeded to keep biting and trying to latch on.

He says he had to tie her up with the leash to restrain her because she would not let up.. (I only found out about this just now that I'm home at work)

Two attacks in two days is just not acceptable. She's drawn blood both times I've done everything right by Esky. Clicker trained her, never laid a hand on her in discipline. I need advice, what should I do now? Gah I've never had a dog show any aggression before. I feel like such a bad pawrent
