That's all well and good but try telling that to a ranger when a neighbour or member lodges a complaint for something as minor as that incident. Personally I would go straight into cover my own arse mode and bugger the good will these days. I've seen owners dragged through the system and forced to consult with a solicitor for a dog than inflicted a scratch on another. The poor people went through a hell of a lot with rangers visits, demands to surrender the dog, threats of NOI's and it went on for months. Their breed of choice was a Rotti too. I honestly don't think goodwill exists anymore. I am very interested in you getting legal advice and letting us know. I think you may find that you are up for all the vet fees.

Well I am stumped, Sas, I have just been searching on "Australian New Zealand Clinical trial Registry" and can't find what you are referring to. -
I might look for this, my dogs love home brand sardines

I would get legal advice TBH. Interesting to hear what that would be.

Reminds me of this dill on cooking forum who said that the lab she bought from a pet shop was from a 'Breeder" not "Puppy Farm" because "The lady in the pet shop said so"

Unfortunately, you will have to be super vigilent if you go down that track, there are a lot of charlatans out there for both animal and human cancer. Believe me, I was where you are when my dog, and a family member were diagnosed. If you do try Chinese medicine/ homeopath etc, ask them the questions- what were the outcomes for clinical trials, was the selection criteria randomized, what treatment was it trialled against, were all scans done within a month of treatment. You see my point? If he were human he would be offered palliative care now if you have decided against the chemo- keep him comfortable for as long as possible. Don't forget, alternative treatments can be toxic too, with very little science to back them up.

Thanks for that AlphaBet! Worth a try -
Wow! Never heard of it costing that much. Dogs generally tolerate chemo very well, is what our Vet Oncologist told us. In our case that was true.

Bloody Drinkers And Their Bloody Glass Bottles
becky thatcher replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Poor baby. Dogs love to do that sad eye thing don't they? Hoons throw bottles out of their cars around our way too and I am forever picking it up and making the dogs walk around it. Friends daughter currently has a gash to her hand which required surgery where a bitch (not dog kind) threw a bottle in a pub. Should have plastic cups in pubs I think -

I think it is what the groomer is using. Happened to us with the silky and the "Natural Lavender Oil" shampoo that the groomer was using. As someone suggested Malased shampoo and we got a conditioner from the vet too. Plus look at diet as others have suggested. -
I can only say that our dog was given 3 months to live with amputation and no chemo for an Osteosacoma. (stats 90 % dead in three months with amp and no chemo) We did chemo after the amputation and she is still alive almost two years later. Go for the chemo. I know it is $$$$$$$$$$$$ but that is what credit cards are for. If I had cancer I would not go for any herbal treatment myself. Just my opinion here

St Johns Wort is a herbal remedy for depression and is actually clinically proven. In humans, depends on which country did the clinical trial. Anyway, lets not get into that can of worms Vitamin B is a good one, thanks for reminding me. Executive Stress for Humans is great. I have a hypnosis CD for thunderstorms (which are brewing here in Perth right now as we speak) -
I wish for that in the Vets I see. Instead, I tend to get made to feel that "I'm just paranoid" reactions (and I'm not sure why, because some of the symptoms my dog/s have shown have been quite obvious) when I insist that something is wrong, even though basic tests have proven negative for anything. If not that, then I get 'shrugs' and the feeling that they don't really want to be bothered. I don't understand that - I'd have thought they'd like to learn. I know I would (and do). Rappie ..... move out my way, would you please? (I've asked this before ..... I'll keep nagging you ). I am never made to feel paranoid at our vets. I love our vets, we give them so much business that we get a Christmas card. I spend a lot but I never begrudge it, my dogs are my life. How great to have you on the forum Rappie!

This is true, our dog has Tramadol when she seems to be more sore with her arthritis. It can be given with Metacam. I think meds like Rimadyl and Metacam are best used all the time rather than used as you would an asprin (for humans) We have had better luck with the Rimadyl than the Metacam too
