  1. Hey all,

wasnt quite sure where to post this but hope someone can help. Im very likely going to sign up for the SG recallers program but im having a bugger of a time finding out what it will cost me once AU dollars are converted to canadian dollars. One conversion website i found states it will end up being 406 ish dollars. does that sound right?

Im excited to start the course....is anyone else going to be doing it. I find SG very inspiring, not only because of her success but also her training methods just really make sense and appeal to me on every level.

    Cheers for any help...

  2. Ohh this is very dangerous. I have been adding and deleting items from my list for days now. I can justify it....really i can, its christmas after all. i deserve it, yeah i do. And my pups love the things im buying so its all ok.....it is.....yep definately....

Quick question. Has anyone ever purchased the fox tail and sheepskin tugs? My boy goes CRAZY over sheepskin and i would love to score them on free postage but not if they will just get siezed by customs.

  3. Yeah its quite scary. Im especially worried for my 4 month old simply because she is so young (still obviously worried for Riley boy too lol)

Just going to have to find ways to keep them exercised without putting them at any risk. Any GSP owners will know how crazy they become without an energy outlet lol.

    Cheers guys :-)

  4. There have been a large number of dogs with parvo around my area, so much so that its made the news and the council has put parvo information flyers up in areas where dogs frequent.

both my dogs (18 month old and 4 month old) are vaccinated. are they both completely safe or is it possible for dogs to still pick up parvo on rare occasions even though they are vaccinated? Im just very concerned about their health and safety and want to.keep them safe. I figure they are both safe but just thought id run it past the knowledgeable DOL community :-)

  5. I have to go away for 5 days for work next month and will need to board my dogs. i have an 18 month old and a 4 month old whom Im reluctant to board but believe she will probably cope better than my older dog.

Can anyone tell me about places they have been and were happy with. my older boy needs to have a good run session every day so this is a must.

Probably best to PM me :-)

Someone has told me the animal welfare league were great so ill look into them. Any help greatly appreciated. Unfortunately i have no one to take them so boarding is my only option. :-( At least i know they will be safe.

  6. Might be completely different but my previous dog was diagnosed as having epilepsy. his seizures were similar to what you describe. glazed look in his eyes, stagger sideways with his head down and twisted and then drop on his side. he never had traditional jerking which people assume all fits are like. i video taped an episode and showed my vet.

It may be seizures that your dog is experiencing too. in any case definitely worth a trip to the vet.

    all the best :-)

  7. This post makes me sad :-( poor little pup.

i really am trying hard not to be judgmental but i can't help but think that your daughter was terribly wrong to not get this pup treatment :-( I've taken days off work to take my dogs to the vet for far less than what this pup was exhibiting. there really is no acceptable excuse for leaving a young pup so long with vomiting and diarrhea. get a friend, family member, anyone to take the pup in to the vet. poor poor pup.

i think also that people are saying that if it was parvo then your property, as in soil etc will be contaminated for your future litters you are planning.

  8. i would love to read the legislation that's allowing the seizure of dogs from properties.

its hard enough to lawfully enter or gain a warrant to enter a persons property to lock up a human for offences.

has anyone read or seen what legislation is being used to seize dogs specific to council folk gaining access and entry to a property for the purpose of assessing or seizing a dog? ? Are they going into houses against owners consent and grabbing dogs or door knocking and hoping people are stupid enough to let them in?

Id be telling any council.inspector to leave my property and that i revoke my tacit consent to them being on my land until id seen some documentation giving them a lawful right to be on my property.

  9. Saxonpup it is madness watching them play isn't it. my girl is quite small compared to riley so that was a bit frightful to watch at first but now its all launching mouthing and good times between them with pup always coming back for more lol. i think because riley is still quite young it helps a tad as he's happy as Larry to play for ages and ages and has just as much fun as pup does :-)

All play is still fully supervised until poppy gets a bit bigger. Thanks for the replies and good luck with the new pup mischief.
