  1. Mine does! Just at night, you hardly notice anything any other time but in the morning there is always a big mess on her bed. I just wash her bedding every day, and cover up the carpet/lounge etc for the odd drop here or there. Her first season was much messier though, admittedly.
  2. I don't, but my Hubby refers to himself as Astrid's Daddy :)
  3. So sad. She looks lovely, too. Accidents happen! I have had a broken nose from my Dobe, courtesy of us both going for the same ball and her head colliding with my face.
  4. Big head tilts and a small amount of growling toward the end. No barking though, which is what she will do to any dog barking sound!
  5. I see plenty of references to feeding roo with this, my girl won't eat it, is it ok to substitute lamb? That's what I feed now, raw wise. There are a couple of suppliers near me so I think I will give it a go, when my current lot of dry runs out. It seems fairly simple, once I managed to find the feeding guide (.pdf http://www.vetsallnatural.com.au/CMsheet.pdf) Mix the complete mix with equal parts of water, soak, then add meat. My girl couldn't eat raw anything when she was a puppy but as she had got older (she's 15 months now) her tummy seems to have toughened up
  6. So the 'Premium Choice' you feed just on it's own? http://www.vetsallnatural.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=eny_fly_default.tpl&product_id=19&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=66 And the 'Complete Mix' is a dry food that you then supplement with meat and bones? (you mix it with water and leave it too) http://www.vetsallnatural.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=eny_fly_default.tpl&product_id=21&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=66 Just making sure I understand :) My dog is a fusspot so I like to occasionally try different things. I am currently feeding a mix of dry, cooked (like tinned sardines etc) and raw. Is there a feeding guide on the website, can't seem to find one.
  7. If you don't want to buy them direct, I know that 'Petstock' in Cannington sell their stuff, for a fair bit more though.
  8. Never had a problem here either have ordered quite a few times. Only treats though.
  9. It seemed to happen so quickly! Sometimes I miss the little roley puppy but she's grown into such an awesome dog Kyojin is gorgeous, and humungous! She's so tolerant :D
  10. It's been so long since I posted in this thread! I thought it was about time for an updated Astrid pic She's 15months old now!
  11. The Ark picks awesome rego names! Ava's name really suits her.
  12. One of the lovely things about having a pedigree dog is the registered name, so I know where you are coming from My girl won't ever be shown, but her rego name is important to me. There's nothing wrong with that. It's nice when a breeder lets you have input, but it's not always the case, and that's ok too. My girl's breeder surprised us by using the name we had picked out for her as her 'every day' name as part of her rego name and we love it. Hope you get it sorted out!
  13. That's exactly what was happening in my suburb recently, the police took it VERY seriously. A heap of dogs were baited, then a week to a couple of weeks later the houses were broken into. The council rangers here were letting people know.
  14. I can't see the ban ever getting reversed, and I am exceedingly happy about that
  15. I left it a bit late to tape, and now instead of two folded ears or two normal ears my Dobe has one of each
  16. Thanks so much everyone, I will pass it on
  17. I am after a recommendation for a behaviourist in QLD. My friend has had a small incident today with her Akita and is looking for someone. In the Ipswich area would be great. Thanks!
  18. Both dog and handler have minor injuries from being hit by the bike, bruising and grazing etc, though I didn't realise the dog was hurt at the time. The local police said that there is nothing to worry about, that it's not unreasonable to expect that a dog in this situation would react in such a manner, especially if she was hurt. They did know exactly who the bike rider was as he is notorious for riding around drunk and making trouble, which does beg the question of why is he still drunk and riding around, he's seen pretty regularly around here! Thanks again everyone! There is so much 'dangerous dog' hysteria around at the moment that I was pretty worried. Nice to know there's at least some common sense!
  19. Thanks everyone I think the hypothetical owner will pay a visit to the hypothetical local police station and make a report today ;)
  20. Just wanting some opinions on this scenario. Hypothetical dog and hypothetical owner out for a walk, stop near an oval to watch some goings on, all nice and relaxed. Drunk man on bike speeds around the corner, clipping owner causing her to fall and also causing himself to come off his bike, smashing a glass bottle full of booze everywhere (man on bike is well known for riding around suburb completely drunk and loud and obnoxious). Dog is very distressed and snaps at drunk man now sprawled on ground next to owner, also sprawled on ground and somewhat tangled in dogs lead. Drunk man says that he is going to report "vicious" dog for trying to bite him and goes on his merry way. Owner was not on a path or thoroughfare of any kind but standing next to a building. How worried should the owner be?
  21. Thanks OsoSwift When it was warm I was walking Astrid late at night or early morning and she was still pretty warm, one of these will be just the ticket then.
  22. Can you use them during exercise, or is it just to cool down after?
  23. Jessca, so sorry about your handsome guy
