  1. I had all my stuff with Wyburn when he became ill and it was all sent back unscored. I was recommended Lavelle by a few DOLers, and so got all my stuff resent to him. I'd have to say I am pretty happy with Lavelle. Excellent price, and had everything back in under a week(interstate too!). ;) The only difference between Lavelle and Wyburn is that my vet emailed the xrays to Wyburn, but Lavelle requires the actual films. I would definately use him again. Thanks to those who suggested him. :p ETA: this was for 2 dogs to be scored.
  2. The price is about $72 for a C5 at my vet, but I get breeder discount and it cost $57.80 last week for one of mine. That includes a quick once over and if I have any concerns about them.
  3. From memory there is a Lab breeder with the prefix Miss Teak, (or very similar, i think ) so I would imagine you would not get Mystique.
  4. She is so adorable! I thought she was a puppy till I read the age.
  5. My black lab has got Dane x and newfie. If you know what a newfie is, how do you not know what a lab is? I am also sick of "They're small aren't they? My friends labs are twice that size." for my girls. Ah no, they are correct breed standard size.
  6. What do you mean? Am thinking of using it in conjuction with a 6ft wooden fence to stop Poppy from going up onto the retaining wall and around onto the pebbles? Sounds like a good idea. Used on its own I would be edgy about pups safety / escaping. We have a climber so ran a thin electric wire around the top of the fence. The dogs seem to be able to smell it, and after one zap they don't go near it again. The climber touched it once, the others haven't gone near it. It is only a small battery powered one. Batteries have gone flat but the dogs can still see the wire, and don't bother climbing. It's much cheaper than the collar system too(especially as mine like to eat each others collars!).
  7. We considered it, and I know some people have used it and found it quite effective. My biggest concern, though, was that while it might keep my dogs in, it wouldn't keep other peoples dogs out. I live on a small acreage and there seems to be few roamers around here.
  8. Just started my 4 on sentinel, and 3 weeks in I'm seeing a massive improvement. The bonus is it covers worms and heartworm too.
  9. Excellent! Means you can stop stressing. Hope your boy feels better soon.
  10. My first thoughts were koolie and bull terrier. Very cute!
  11. My youngest 2 dogs got the baby names I really liked and never used. (Indi and Lyla) I'd rather hear of dogs with human names than people named after fruit. (It's also better than BIL naming his mastiff x Snatch - yes get a gutter mind and you are thinking correctly, this is a family with young kids )
  12. Thanks for that. Will check him out.
  13. Email worked. Ann called me back. getting all my stuff returned, now just need to find an alternative scorer.
  14. This is so sad, I hope Dr Wyburn is going to be Ok, he is such a nice man. As far as I know there is only AVA, and from what I hear you can get any one of a number of poeple reading them. There is OFA in the states. Also Cornell Uni in the US, which is a new program and I understand very reliable and not long waits to get results. I think I may give them a try. I will contact them and see if they will read email compatable xrays. Be interested to find out more on this. Does anyone know the cost of OFA compared to our system? Or even what others in Aust charge, is it similar to Wyburn, as I've never used anyone else.
  15. I have been in contact with Ann Wyburn today as I have 2 lots over there to be done at the moment. It's all got to be sent back now. Been waiting 2 weeks. She said hopefully everything will be back to normal in a few weeks, but I didn't pry into any more detail. She said there are a few people apart from the AVA, but did not want to recommend anyone. My vet mentioned someone by the name of Allen, they are in NSW but not sure where. Will be at the vet on Mon to get one of mine vacc, so will find out more detail then.
  16. Thanks. I'll give that a go.
  17. Does anyone know how his secretary / any contact person for Prof Wyburn can be reached? His number is diverted to a boarding kennel which only answers calls from 4-6pm (which is 3hrs behind us). I have rung my vet, but they don't know anything. I just need to know if my xrays have been scored, and if not how can I get them back. Fingers crossed I don't have to get someone else to do it. I do hope his illness is nothing serious.
  18. Thanks for that. I have been waiting 2 weeks and wondering why I haven't got the scores back for my 2.
  19. Awesome markings. Love the dog hair in the pic!!
  20. Cost me $1200 for an emergency c-section during normal hours. $120 for preg xray
