  1. You will need to separate them, I have a GSD and several small breeds and now he is 19 months old I can let them together as he has finally calmed down now but I would still not leave him unsupervised with them yet even though I could with my other shepherd
  2. They may not, I have 6 dogs and 2 of mine had kennel cough the others were fine even though they all run together Fingers crossed for you I hope they don't catch it
  3. Maybe it depends on the dog & the breed. For a WL mally, I'd say no, the dog would in most cases not be happy in a pet only home. To keep happy they need things to do with their bodies & with their minds. In a regular home situation like you describe, my girl would probably become quite destructive. As my girl's breeder said to me, if you don't give a WL mally a job to do, they will make one up - and most times, you won't like it. A true performance home, where the dog was trained extensively & regularly, & allowed to use its natural drives, would be OK. I have a working line mal here in a pet home, she has been trained since she was a pup to go to one of the defense forces and most of her litter are already with raaf, but has ended up living here the last few months and she is fantastic as a pet, she is great with the little dogs, keeps my shepherd fit and would be quite happy laying on the lounge all day with you the big sook
  4. The brother to mine went to NZ I will get some more photos of her as she has grown so much
  5. Thanks SecretKei she is a great little pup, I will definately keep you updated on her Thanks Laeral, she would only be about 8 weeks old
  6. here are some more pics of Ice, she is growing so fast
  7. they have the brother and sister to my dog. My friend bred the litter, the mother is just gorgeous as well. I have 3 of them here at he moment from the litter, one of which is a blue she is so pretty
  8. i got her from a friend that breeds them here in Qld i also have her brother for 2 weeks until he goes overseas so here are a few pictures of them tonight, they are awesome pups but they certainly like to bite
  9. i finally have my Dutchy pup she is pretty full on thats for sure, i have called her Ice ;)
  10. these dogs certainly are impressive, we have been training with 2 of them i know someone who has just imported a female with a belly full of pups, she is due to have them this weekend so am deciding if i want to take the step to get one but have to keep telling myself 4 dogs are enough, 4 dogs are enough
  11. I brought my last Shepherd up entirely on raw from 8 weeks, he turned 7 at the beginning of the year and has had no problems and am now raising my new shepherd pup on it as well. Talk to your breeder, thats the food they recommend and what they bring there dogs up on so i am sure they will be able to guide you which will take the guess work out of it and make you more confident that you are doing the right thing
  12. i wouldnt feed this with the barf patties, it seems to be a suppliment if your only feeding mince, it has calcium in it which the pup will not need with the bones he is getting as well as the barf patties already have crushed bone in it, you will be overdoing the calcium which is not a good thing i agree with the others i wouldnt be adding the veges as they are only fillers, what is his condition like, how do his ribs feel
  13. I have my 10 week old Shepherd pup on barf as well, you will know if you are feeding him enough by keeping an eye on his weight Mine gets a turkey neck or chicken necks or wings for breakfast and for dinner about 700g of The Edge I also add some sardines a couple of times a week and an ester c tablet
  14. I am with pet pan, the only thing I don't like is the 4 - 6 week wait to get your claim back I wish racq did a higher one as they are great and very $500 doesn't go far
  15. Yes this is what I'm trying to avoid. As far as I know (or have been told by vet), it actually works for 6 months but can last up to 12 months in some cases. How would anyone at shows know if you had it implanted (apart from shrunken testicles which in my view is an added bonus)? Has anyone noticed loss of muscle mass or body condition at all? I have a 6 month one in the Min Pin and a 12 month in the Malamute, you have a choice which one you want Never had anyone ask at a show why he has smaller testicles, they are still there and have certainly not shrunken up to nothing on either dog Neither of mine have had a loss of muscle mass or body condition
  16. I have both my boys done Has stopped them marking everything and even though my female was in season both boys ignored her and were not insane, crazy idiots
  17. thanks Greymate and kamuzz, he is sleeping but has been playing with Airy so he must feel alot better which is good its too hot to be outside but i will try and get him out there when it cools down to say hi to the big dogs, they have been a bit neglected the last few days as i havent spent much time with them :D
  18. Thanks Jean26, he is home Belgrael - 113 in one night waste of space they are, shame they cant find anything to get rid of the lot of them thanks persephone and Rodina pomquest we will be there, we are normally with the Watts and there chihuahuas, but we will have plenty of time to get around an say hi to everyone laeral - he is a character, the specialist said they had him running around out the back and how he was a bit of a favourite here he is, he isnt as cute at the moment as he has hair missing as they superglue the oxygen tubes to there head
