  1. It has happened here a few times. I believe we had to throw it out. I cant thik of any way to remove the ants, without jeapordising the health of the dog.

  4. Bloodhound ears are pretty popular with my kelpie *L* Seriously though - mine love the big rope toys for tugging And if it isnt the ears, its the tail and feet. They can be pretty rough sometimes, but they take it fairly well :D Or the whole back leg at times (hound can fit kelpies leg in mouth - drooly ) This is really gross. But one time, the dogs caught the neighbours cat, which kept coming into our backyard teasing the dogs. Well they got it once, and they had obviously played tug of war, because it was stretched from one side of the yard, all the way to the other. We live on an acre. So, it was quite disgusting! Poor kitty :D
  5. None of my dogs are reactive to other dogs (they know they'd be busted!), so the likelihood of them having the 'pack mentality' is almost zilch... I also take them during off peak times, i.e. when I know no one will be there. I do my best to be vigilant, and if I see a dog approaching with ears forward/hackles up/tail up then they all are releashed or I call out to the other owner. Most of mine are ok. They dont go out of their way to provoke another dog. however, they dont usually like random dogs being up in their face.
  6. OMG!!! That is insane. I cant believe he touches it afterwards!!! And the dog didnt look too comfortable with it lol

  8. I walk all 4 of mine all together on lead and off. I have a ezy dog lead that has 4 lead attachments. So the main lead has a handle and the end is like a normal clip and I can attach up to 4 shorter leads to it. It's great but if I am doing a long on lead walk I prefer to have them all on separate leads so I can have 2 each side. I think the neck ties would be good for this too. We use them when racing, theyre just a really short lead that clips on to the collars, to keep them from seperating too far. Stops them deciding to turn opposite ways, usually ends in tears, and bruises
  9. I can recall going to the forest one day with FHRP.. dogs just boiled out of the car while a couple of people stood there gobsmacked. I think we only had 6 between us then. :D Ha ha. Reminds me of a time when we only had 6. And a friend of ours had 2. And we had them all at a grooming place, because we didnt have a hydrobath. People came in and saw 8 sibes, and were rather shocked. Made a big deal out of it. but we're sporting 9 of them and a basenji in the yard now
  10. DA??? DA - dog aggressive Ah k thanks. Im no good with the acronyms these days
  11. I must be psycho level obsessed then :D And yes snow wolf - that's a very normal name for me to call him. My usual getting home routine involves me coming in and calling "oi! fat mutt! where are you horrible dog?" unless he's got his head underneath the gate in which case it's Hi Woof! Whatcha doing horrible dog?" Well, solo (brown dog) usually gets "Little sh*t" from me Thats usually in the context of: "Come here you little sh*t!!!" :D
  12. Ok. I give up. What does SWF stand for???
  13. So, it seems quite common for people to walk up to 4 dogs at a time. Im surprised i have never seen a lead with one handle that has 4 leads on it. Like, a multi-lead. Maybe i can invent it, and make millions!
  14. What is the oldest age you can desex a dog? Is there a limit to when the vet will not perform it?
  15. Actually, this reminds me. I used to have a contration, that hooked onto my pushbike, with a spring on it. So my dog could run along side me. Occasionally she would pull me a little bit. I imagine doing that with 4 of them would be nuts! But then again, we race up to 6 of them at a time, and thats not much different i guess.
  16. 3 Rotties! Gee, thats keen! :D Then add a GSD on top. Wow!!! I only weigh 70kgs. So if i did that, and a cat crossed in front of me, i'd want to be wearing a helmet for the face plant thats bound to happen!
  17. Ziggy, is very picky with toys too. Sh will only play with it if its red. And a while ago, i remember people saying dogs are supposed to be colour blind
  18. OMG! That is like our basenji. He drives me insane! Everywhere i go, constantly tripping over him, and he always sneaks into my room when im in here. He knows he's not allowed because as soon as i see him he runs out. He just wont leave me alone. Really ticks me off!
  19. Yeah, i think i would struggle with any more than 2. But i do have a larger breed, so i guess its understandable.
  20. I saw a lady walking 5 dogs today. Sparked some curiosity.
  21. I dont understand how it is new? I remember doing something similar to this when i was at school
