This topic was actually featured in "In The News" before it was split into two. I just searched for the topic & added my comment. I don't think it's good that they show this sort of thing on the news. what can the public learn from it? not to do it? that should be obvious. i don't think theres much chance of a copycat attack like there was with the cat in the bin. showing cat in the bin on the news was stupid as any nutter can copy that You do have a point there. However, often when the media allow these stories to be spread worldwide, it often ends in the person responsible being recognised and prosecuted. For instance: The girl that threw the puppies into the river, was found, due to the massive amount of media attention.

I just dont agree with any breed being singled out. Any breed of dog can exhibit any behaviour, it usually comes down to the kind of environment, and training it has grown up in.

So i highly doubt its going to be 100km per hour ;) Our sibes race at speeds around 30km/h, but that is for distances ranging 2km - 10km. 50km, is a VERY long distance for a dog to be travelling. I wouldnt really do anything more than 10 - 15km distance at speeds ranging from 10 - 15km/h. And of course, you shouldnt do that if the temperature is anywhere above 15 degrees C.

I definitely wouldn't recommend having an unfenced dog. Even if it does stay on the property. It only takes 1 time for it to have a wander, and either get hit by a road train, shot by a neighbour, or eat some poison. So many things that could go wrong.

We just had a red belly hiding inside our wall the other day. Luckily we found it though. Our neighbours dog recently passed, from a snake bite too. There really does seem to be a massive increase in the snake population... R.I.P Towser

Whats wrong with just using a regular pooper scooper, like the ones they have placed around at dog shows?

Each to their own i say. I have also known of people who bump the price up a little bit if selling to someone they dont completely know, especially for a pet (non showing) home, and offer a percentage of cash back if they later prove that the dog has been desexed.

Im unbiased with the removal of dew claws. However one of mine did rip his out, and i can say. It really was extremely messy, and painful.
