  1. Shazza, if it was fading puppy I would know more what to do...he dosnt tick all the boxes of fading...hes ok today, not great not bad...still feeding two hourly.

  3. im stumped with this little booger..just fed and piched him and HES HYDRATED now??!!!! (not complaining though)
  4. sorry for all the bubs that have passed :D Love the fatty boomba pics!!
  5. BD what sort of Glucose powder?? Actually his dehydraton as soo as I went to feed him after chating to ellz on FB was ok!! Typical! Not great but heaps better.. I am trying him on the "Leerburg German Shepards" formula now, its alot thicker as well. Have been trying to get in contact with my vet who does all my Liver shunt testing at Werribee to have a chat to her..exam time so im chasing her! Its possible it could be this... Man, Im fast getting over breeding, Ive not yet had one 'easy' litter!! Im posting all the gritty details so BYB will read and think twice!! (yet everything seems to go smoothly for them...agghhh!) he IS drinking/sucking alot more I am noticing , so that is positive!
  6. ellz sounds similer...let me know when you are on FB so I can 'Chat"
  7. ok I am off to vet this afternoon, but thought Id put it up here too.. Mr Red was born at a fine weight (198g) then over the next two days lost weight rapidly..I just noticed he was looking ribby and popped him on scale..he was 156g!! I did try to give him a good go on mum without littermates, but seemed not to attatch well. BilboBaggins came and showed me how to tube...so Ive been tubing mostly hourly and he is now almost up to his birthweight again and sucking alot better..(i left him from midnight to 7am and he didnt drop weight to dramatically so he must be drinking better off mum) The thing is is he is still rather dehydrated?? I am using Goats milk now. My vet said perhaps he isnt digesting it well enough as wiith all the fluid he is getting he shouldnt be dehydrated..I will take in a urine sample for her. (this is my GOOD Vet she wont do dewclaws but she is totally awesome!) BB/Lizt she will also look for a cleft way back, as I mentioned this to her! He has good colour, good breath sounds, has BUNDLES of energy (I called him weeman from Jackarse as he runs around crate and pops through holes!) and fights me when I tube him.. The only thing I can think off is when he was born he was already out of his sack and wiggleing, so maybe swallowed somthing?? I will update when I get back (appt is 2.45pm) ideas? Anyone had this?? i have tried googling but its unlike fading puppy or failure to thrive...
  8. Piccies are in the November due thread here in breeders. fifi 2 boys 2 girls.. :D
  9. HUGE thank you to BB and SWAY who helped me out today! Weemanred is now being tube fed succesfully..fingers crossed it keeps going well.

  12. well, I have had dogs (shown and bred) for a number of years now and have 3 kids. i have had a number of litters, shown, trained and groomed with a (now) 9 year old boy (NOT INTERESTED IN DOGS!) 4 year old boy and a 1 year old daughter...yes its tough, yes you need 10 arms and 30 pairs of eyes, yes you need to manage time but anything is doable! Ive whelped litters, shown dogs etc while running after a 3 year old hugly pregnant...(even in labour i was locking dogs in crates!!) ive even had TWO litters a week/two weeks after baby 2 and 3 were born..night feeds and nightly potty training work well! My kids have grown up dog savy, puppy savy etc It really is up to how YOU feel you will cope to what is right for you..I think i just thrive on kaos as I am hopefully about to undergo a surrogacy pregnancy late 2011...
  13. oh my! How terribly sad for you all, big hugs and run free and in joy Sophie!
  14. so my smallest baby (last pup) has been steadily loosing weight and i am now getting worried, went and got a bottle and some goats milk after searching and reading old posts here on DOL..turns out he wont take a bottle but he will suck from an eye dropper..i will now top him up hourly? I took them in today to get dew claws done and spoke to vet, asked about tube feeding..he is very old fashioned and just told me to pull off a fat one and plop pup on..well thats easier said then done... am not confidant to tube feed but will watch a few you tubes and see how this eye dropper works and if he will put on SOME weight. He drank almost 2.5 mls last eye drop feed..
  15. Mum and pups today All finished and tuckered out How I whelped her, leaning on a pillow! She was comfy and didnt move except to lick them! The underpads I got from SWAYs whelping supplies are FABULOUS and i will get them for my next litter, saves on my towel washing.

  17. Ok since my litter was born on Remeberance Day I think i will go with this theme, I have a few ideas but thought Id put it out there for all you clever DOLers to see what creativity will pop up as I love reading other name threads!
